About That Locker Room Fight

December 24th, 2017

Leaders are frustrated.

As Joe stood outside the Buccaneers locker room waiting for it to open after the game, things got a little odd.

The door wasn’t opening.

No big deal to Joe, as Joe spent some of the time talking to Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer. It turns out, some of the delay was to let the locker room simmer down.

As the Buccaneers Radio Network audience heard, things got heated after the game. The microphone of network host T.J. Rives, who gets early locker room access, picked up some of the hollering and the network broke away from the locker room.

Joe eventually talked to several players about the happening. No, Joe doesn’t know who was involved (only an educated guess). But there was a significant confrontation.

Adam Humphries, Clinton McDonald and others told Joe the incident speaks to the how deeply the team cares and fights, and how much frustration has grown from all the losing and tough finishes.

“We’re 4-10 coming into this game. A lot of teams might give up and not care,” Humphries said. “The leaders on our team, Kwon, Jameis, Mike, you know, they care. When we lose, there’s a lot of passion and feeling that come out. We hate losing, and that’s when you see the frustration come out.”

Well, it’s better than a team that is just mailing in the season. The Bucs are not that team.

Yes! I have been impressed with the effort these last three games….lot of holes to fill in the offseason but a core and identity has been forged

  2. SB Says:

When competitors lose. Tempers will flare. This may be the only thing to save DK. His team is still fighting.

  3. Jimmy Says:

I hope Kwon punched that m*therf*cking lardarse Swaggy.

  4. NCMike Says:

Well I’ll finally cave in…. McCoy was a no show for it?

  5. BucTrooper Says:

Where was that fight on 4th and 1?

  6. SCBucsFan Says:

No doubt when it’s the fourth quarter and this defense needs a stop that they won’t get it done. I don’t know if its conditioninn or nerves but they choke every single time.

  7. Samsung Says:

Notice Humphries left out 93 as one of the ones frustrated with losing.

Maybe the best observation in print by you Ever Joe!

I’m sure it was the younger guys on the team. The ones that have been there for a while could obviously care less.

You have officially disgraced our Home town name.
    Go root for the Jags!

just because a team does not quit on the coach doesn’t mean hes the right coach

that end of half timeout blunder….cost 2-3 more plays at least letting the clock go down from 1:02 to :18 secs

choke??? when the D held the team to 13 points ??????

D has not been great but this game ??? what more do you want the D to do

ohhh…..some of yall want the D to hold teams to under 20 and multiple single digit games like your 9-7 year you give koetter ALL the credit for

while the offense averages under 20 for 3 going on 4 years now SMH

  13. Nate Says:

    ^^^ @ SB and SCbucsfan

  14. Roy T. Buford Says:

Maybe the leaders of the team should play better, not get themselves suspended, take better care of the football, not make themselves open for civil suits or other sexual allegations…you know…stuff leaders do. And stop confrontations before and after the final whistle. Never saw with with VJax. Oh, so who was involved in any scuffle? Any guys on the side of our stadium by any chance. I don’t know. Just asking. Let me just guess.

The team comes up short on talent…. it is a work in progress

Your hometown is a bigger disgrace than the Succaneers. When playoffs get here, I’m rooting for the Carolina Panthers.

  17. RandomBucFan Says:

The team is loaded with talent, except along the OL and DL, the two most important units of the offense & defense, respectively. The coaching is mediocre the play-calling is inconsistent, the DC doesn’t have a clue… knowing these facts, who would expect this team to be better than 4-11 right now?

  18. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I will pull and continue to love my Buccaneers till the end of my time…It’s frustrating as fook, but I hate to see people call them suckaneers, etc..

Just wait kids..just wait…Gruden’s coming and I know it!

  19. Dan Says:

It’s sad when effort and a locker room fight is what we are supposed to be giddy about. Ahh how things have changed since 2008.

  20. jb Says:

It’s nice to see that the players that will be here for the 2018 season really give a sh*t. If Jameis can stay cool and play like he has the past 2 weeks minus the fumbles we’ll be fine. Gotta say I’m anxious to see what Gruden could do with this offensive talent. If we could take care of most of the O-line woes in free agency, and go all defense in the draft…….I can see us still playing in January 2019.

^ Never mind, forget the #5 pick … I just got home and saw the 49’ers beat the Jags … we are now in line for the #4 pick … SWAGGY BAKER SHOULD BE EVERY BUCS FAVORITE DEFENSIVE PLAYER RIGHT NOW … send the man a box of donuts!

If we lose on the road next week against the Saints, the draft order will be:

    BROWNS
    GIANTS
    COLTS
    BUCCANEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the 4th pick we should easily be able to draft either star DE BRADLEY CHUBB or stud RB SAQUON BARKELY or Jalen Ramsey’s clone, the versatile CB/S MINKAH FITZPATRICK … or TRADE down for a package of picks to stock our roster!

Had we won this meaningless game against the Panthers we could have dropped to #11 or so and ended up with an okay CB or DE like Ken Webster or Clellin Ferrel but thanks to SWAGGY BAKER’s ineptitude, we could get a future HOF type player!

    THANK YOU SWAGGY!

  22. NFLNut Says:

^ In addition to the above … RELEASE Swaggy at the end of the year and NEVER let him near this team again … but … for now … thank Swaggy for getting us the #4 pick as this team needs it!

  23. Joel Says:

Now go get Gruden to kick that up a notch.

    “About that locker room fight”

All you need to know is…………The locker won.

  25. Rod Munch Says:

I have no issue with players being mad about losing. Unless they’re out in public punching women I don’t really care what they do, in particular if it’s just just busting up the Panthers visitors locker room.

  26. 1nebuv Says:

I know when you have vets that are accustomed to the losing ways they tend to leave a loss on the field and come back in the locker room all nonchalant listening to music telling jokes etc…
The flip side to that is what happened today with the young bulls who don’t know this way because they still play because it’s their child hood dream challenged this way of living ,thinking, believing , and most important ACTING!!!!! This is a locker room that is so talented with young bulls they don’t understand this to be the way you move after that game. Jameis , Kwon ,

Jameis , yes the leader was probably so ticked he snapped and remeber these are grown me and you tell me the 1s that are going to come to his defense … exactly his crew the Kwons , Beckwith , D Smith , MikEEEEEE , TJ , and I don’t mean holding him back …

  28. adam from ny Says:

i heard they went wild in there because swaggy was ordering delivery to the locker room right after the game…jameis walked up and yanked the menu from his hand and ripped it up…as mccoy mumbled to swaggy “cancel the order f*ckboi”

  29. Tommy W Says:

I hope commentor Samsung reads this post.

You, Samsung, are an idiot. Same with anyone else questioning McCoy’s desire to fight and win. The man went out there with a torn biceps, an injury that should have shut him down for the season, and played a damn fine game. Only a real competitior does that.

I swear on everything holy that we have some of the most ignorant “fans”. Saod “fans” are ready to chase Jameis out of town and don’t appreciate what we have in GMC. You “fans” don’t deserve great players like Winston, McCoy, Evans, David, and Kwon.

  30. Clint Says:

Hopefully Jameis doesn’t rape anyone this offseason. Dude can really play, and I mean that. He’s going to always give the Bucs a shot. They’ll typically blow it and find a way to waste his effort but it’s nice to see a guy who you know will give them a lead late that they’ll blow. He’s fun to watch.

  31. Since76 Says:

Thank you, Tommy W, for correctly using the singular “biceps.” Seeing and hearing “bicep” is like fingernails on a chalkboard.

  32. BucEmUp Says:

Whats sad is that the 49ers just made the 10 win team that chria baker was taunting in training camp the jaguars look lost yesterday and we still suck. I told my dad with 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter

“I guarantee you on the final possession for Carolina that we go to prevent defense and shlt the bed…and thats exactly what happened. Mike smith has been a cancer to this team. Every week they beat themselves. Pathetic….Im actually relieved that its finally over.
