GMC Has “Procedure;” Not Practicing

December 3rd, 2015
May not play Sunday.

May not play Sunday.

Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy confessed this afternoon to having what he classified as a “small procedure” to take repair an injury he suffered against the Colts four days ago, and he admitted he isn’t sure if he will play Sunday.

When GMC spoke, Joe was behind him so he didn’t see a bandaged hand that Rick Brown of ESPN.com saw and documented.

As practice began, the portion open to media viewing, GMC was not practicing.

Joe isn’t going to sweat too much, but if GMC doesn’t take the practice field tomorrow, then there is cause for concern. Yesterday, GMC did not practice due to what was reported by the Bucs as a hand injury.

Feel free to do the math here.

The last time the Bucs played the Falcons without McCoy they trailed 56-0 after three quarters.

Those heart transplant procedures take at least a month to heal from

Some no named dude on reddit today made a post that said McCoy got screws in his hand. Got deleted by the mods and the guy would not reveal his source . Not sure if there is any truth to that

  3. Dooshlarue Says:

Well that sucks for the Falcons.
Who is gonna help them up off the ground now?

  4. pelbuc Says:

I heard he had a pimple that hurt him so he wants to go on IR. Mr Potato chip strikes again. No big loss. He’s never made a play in crunchtime anyway.

    @pelbuc

Regarding McCoy not making plays in crunch time, please consider re-watching last play against the Falcons this year.

Get well soon GMACK- we need U

  9. Bankie Says:

May not play sunday? Has he played yet this year? (Sarcasm)

Definitely need a healthy GMC. His potentially not playing is bad news for the Bucs in this upcoming game. I read somewhere that the talk up in Atlanta is that Ryan’s arm is worn out. I ain’t buying that.

  11. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Oh Gee…..what will the do bucs do now for defense (rolling eyes)

The bucs line will press on as always when Mccoy gets hurts annually as always

……and Joe will be writing about multiple plural DTs getting sacks and pressures

…..I’m sure of it…..you heard it here first Joe!!!!

This is a disaster I mean who else on this team can take on double teams and get dominated and do nothing for an entire game? I mean I don’t know how we will survive.

  13. BucFan20 Says:

I bet if McCoy is out they will not stop the run. And for some of you. You seem to think everyone has done a great job on this defense. When in fact NOBOBY has . They have been inconsistent all year. Everyone of them. Most just plain out garbage.

  14. loggedontosay Says:

Let me guess, McCoy hurt his hand falling to the ground after being thrown to the ground by an offensive linemen? Joe, has the games big bubba missed added up to two or three seasons?

  15. Brian Says:

Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t JPP playing with half a hand? This is the biggest game in the past few years. Suck it up!

  16. James Walker Says:

The top DT in the NFL right now in sacks is Geno Atkins who has 8. McCoy has 7.

  17. MTM Says:

McCoy has disappears in games and is injury prone. I can see Smith substituting in DT’s that will eventually outplay McCoy at some point making McCoy expendable and setting the stage to trade McCoy to fill more pressing needs. Just saying…

Now that I live in Atlanta, I hate that I have to read all the Bucs bashing online instead of being able to listen to this garbage in person. Those of you in Tampa at least get the chance to go see our team on our turf all season. Oh, and until you’ve done somebody’s job better than they have, you really should be less critical. I’m sure the world could use less negative energy. If it brings you that much grief, go be a Patriots fan or get on the bandwagon of whoever happens to be winning at the time. Bucsforlife!

There has been talk on other sites that GMC got like 8 screws put into his hand? That sounds way more serious than we are being told? I hope it ain’t true. I am sick of all the negative GMC talk about him being inconsistent, injury prone and expendable. C’mon, he is still our best player and if there was a time we need him, its right now.
