Bucky Irving On Pace For 1,551 Yards On 311 Carries

November 1st, 2026

What a day — again! — for third-year Bucs running back Bucky Irving.

Dominant!

Irving rumbled 27 times for a whopping 170 yards and a touchdown against the overmatched Falcons.

That left Irving with 147 carries on the season for 728 yards rushing and 5 TDs on the ground. That’s good for a tick over 5 yards per carry average on the season.

Irving is now on pace for 311 carries this season, a stunning total that would have ranked second-most in the NFL last season. He’s also on pace for 1,551 yards rushing, a Pro Bowl total, for sure.

Where would the Bucs be without Irving? It’s so great to see him back to his 2024 form.

Joe doesn’t know if the Bucs have a passing attack. That answer will probably come at Chicago next Sunday night. But that’s no certainty. The Bucs have completed seven passes in the past two games.

Irving was a question mark coming off shoulder surgery last winter and a long rehab. He’s answered the bell in a big way.

  6. Outrigger Says:

How about Gainwell with 140 yards rushing. Reminds me of the old days with Alston and Dunn.

  7. Bucs East Coast Says:

    Hey Joe, maybe you know

Is this the first ever win for a Bucs, or maybe any NFL team, without a completed pass?

  8. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Shutout the Falcons and ran them over for 310 yards!! Can not ask for anything better!!

I just don’t get why they didn’t put Baker on the bench after about halfway through the third. Could have done some RPO.

  11. PSL Bob Says:

RB, O-line and entire defense are cliking. Hope they can keep it up and keep injuries at arems length.

  12. Outrigger Says:

Red zone said the last team to win without completing a pass was the 1974 Buffalo Bills in a driving rainstorm against the Jets.

  14. Bucs East Coast Says:

Chat GPT says first f time for the Bucs, first time since 1974 buffalo v jets, and 8th time ever.

Ever other game was pre 1950 so you can’t really any of those in the modern NFl, hard to argue the Buffalo games was one too

  17. Ex-Browns02 Says:

We all were worried about Bucky’s mental state early in the season.

I think that we can now pack that up and put it back in storage (or the trash)!

  18. DBS Says:

Don’t forget Atlanta was the team that ended Evans 49ers winless run. Atlanta has to be totally disgusted.

We’re not going to be able to hide Baker next week. He’s gonna have to play the QB position and throw the ball some.

  21. Oldbucsfan Says:

Crazy thing is we have 3 damn good backs!

  22. #1bucsfan Says:

Now this is Bucs football I can get behind. I keep saying the playoffs have come early this year. Win or go home. One game at a time. Let’s go Bucs

  23. Simeon4HOF Says:

Been time to get a Bucky Irving jersey.

  24. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

Well son-of-a-b!tch…just when I was checking out for the season the Bucs have resuscitated my football season give a damn…and I am very thankful! It’s still a statistical long shot, but they’ve got a chance. If nothing else it’s at least been a fun couple weeks to be a Bucs fan.

  25. Arn Platz Says:

In looking at our remaining games I think he has a real shot at exceeding 1551 yards. Just maybe 2000.

  26. DoooshLaRue Says:

  30. David Says:

Last two weeks… 582 yards running. Only 64 passing.
The defense has 6 sacks and 8 turnovers.
They outscored Carolina & Atlanta 59 to 13

To beat your two division rivals in that fashion… An absolute demoralizing, manhandling, dominant in the trenches performance… Is amazing.

  31. Brasho Says:

I love bucky, but where would we be without him? Gainwell had a great game as well, and honestly, I’ve been saying this forever, our most talented running back doesn’t ever seem to take the field. I guarantee you, Sean Tucker doesn’t get caught from behind by anybody. He is our Ace in the Hole when we run Bucky into the ground.

  32. David Says:

Bucky and Gainwell Have become an awesome tandem.
Having the insurance of Tucker behind them is pretty great as well.

  33. jimmy Says:

a dominant performance against a decent (before today) run defense of the falcons, and not just one or two big runs, just over and over and over.

having gainwell come in and keep hammering them for more yards was great, falcons couldnt do anything to stop them same as the panthers.

  34. Beeej Says:

The last 2 games–Bucs have 582 yards on the ground. I hereby announce Zak gets to STAY, and we re-sign Mauch. Can’t mess with this formula
