What Could Bucky Irving Bring In A Trade?
April 2nd, 2026This is equal parts funny, sad and an outrage.
Cris Collinsworth’s PFF tribe got sold this week to an outfit that only wanted its business-to-business wing (the NFL outsources its quality control/stats-collecting to the tribe). Trust Joe, no NFL team wants its dumb grades.
The outfit that bought the PFF tribe has no use for its public-facing website, so Collinsworth got to keep that. Thus, innocent NFL fans will still be assaulted by the PFF tribe’s dumbass grades littering the broadcast of Sunday Night Football.
However, the website was gutted by its new owners and Collinsworth in the wake of the sale. Many were thrown out onto the street, including former Bucs beat writer Trevor Sikkema. That is not funny in any way. Sad.
Before the sale, John Kosko — no idea if he still works there or not — typed a piece about the most tradable asset on every team.
Kosko looked over the Bucs and he sees a roster so devoid of talent, he (honestly?) thinks Bucky Irving, coming off an injury-riddled season, is the most tradable asset.
Can you imagine?
Given their lack of other tradable assets, the Buccaneers could consider moving Bucky Irving for draft capital. His strong rookie season makes him an appealing option, and the relative ease of finding productive running backs later in the draft supports the idea.
With ongoing issues along the offensive line, reallocating value from the running back position could help address more pressing needs.
What ongoing issues along the offensive line? The Bucs (when healthy) have one of the best lines in the NFL. If Kosko is suggesting the Bucs trade Bucky for a backup guard, it’s no wonder this guy might be jobless.
That’s not just funny, it’s an outrage! Maybe one of the best backs in the game for a backup guard? The nerve!
Now if Kosko typed that Bucky could be traded in a package for a legit starting edge rusher who consistently racks up double-digit sacks, well, then there would be no reason for Kosko to apply for a job at Costco.
Otherwise, Bucky is just fine in the Bucs’ backfield, thank you very much.

This is so idiotic it hurts…
Vita Vea, Winnfield, Wirfs, Godwin, Ebuka, McMillan – all more valuable trade assets.
April 2nd, 2026 at 7:47 am
“Kosko looked over the Bucs roster and he sees a team (in his eyes) so devoid of talent, he (honestly?) thinks Bucky Irving, coming off an injury-riddled season, is the most tradable asset the Bucs have.”
And why is that? Where are all the great players? Could the void be from trading back or staying put?
In 2022 we traded back from 27 to 33 for Logan Hall. Result: not on team
In 2018 we traded back from 7 to 12. The Bills took Josh Allen. We took Vea. Not bad, but …
In 2016 we traded back from 9 to 11 to take Vernon Hargreaves, resulting in the worst trade back in team history.
Keep Bucky, I say.
And I also say we should trade up. But now it seems we do not have the players to do so.
And why is that?
Is anybody in this organization ever held accountable for anything?
This team should have at least some superstars hungry and ready to play.
Instead, we get a RB White video of a plane taking off, a retirement from a great linebacker and our best ever receiver taking the last train to the coast …
The day the music had died … Bye bye Ms. Buccaneer Pie …
Wonder if we’ll ever know what went on behind closed doors this past year.

Ira Kaufman’s catarac is spinning its grave!
April 2nd, 2026 at 7:53 am
I can’t stand Collinsgworth
April 2nd, 2026 at 8:13 am
Agree on Winfield, don’t see him doing much for the team these days. It appears T Smith who is new is out playing him. Correct me if I am wrong, but believe Joe you said on Ira’s podcast that Winfield was out of position and arrived late on the now infamous 3-28 debacle. Anyway I just don’t see him making plays often and he seems to disappear from the game often. With that said, anyway we could trade McColumn? I am guessing no , but it would be nice.
The jury is out on Bucky. The jury is in on Winfield, guilty for failing to appear
April 2nd, 2026 at 8:14 am
Maybe a 3rd.
April 2nd, 2026 at 8:17 am
If RBs are so easy to replace, why would anyone trade for him.
April 2nd, 2026 at 8:17 am
Dammit boy. Trevor Sikkema is a solid writer. Corporate America strikes again.
April 2nd, 2026 at 8:19 am
No way would I trade EE or Jmac. Thats a stupid thought. Jmac has serious upside. When he breaks out, thats a guy we should look to resign.
AWJ plays a position that can easily be drafted, unless your Ed Reed or Ronnie Lott. He is not. Another ridiculous contract by JL. 20 plus mil to a small, pysically limited S. Yeah, I’m all for moving him.
April 2nd, 2026 at 8:28 am
Not a dam thing what a stupid fucing article
April 2nd, 2026 at 8:51 am
These nation pundits know very little about the Bucs! Right now there is not much to write about, just speculation, so they throw crap out there with any merit. Just white noise….take with a grain of salt.
April 2nd, 2026 at 8:55 am
Might get a good deal from a team that needs a scatback.
April 2nd, 2026 at 9:13 am
Well done.
April 2nd, 2026 at 9:55 am
The best the Bucs can get for Bucky is a lick swap
Bucky and a 7th round pick for a 6th round pick
April 2nd, 2026 at 9:56 am
“””pick swap
April 2nd, 2026 at 10:49 am
Dude sounds about as competent as the Bucs HC.
April 2nd, 2026 at 10:53 am
We’d be lucky to get the 4th we spent to get him in a trade scenario.
April 2nd, 2026 at 11:00 am
I still think Tucker is a better, more durable back. His blocking could use some work. Is still like the Bucky – Tucker combo. But, Bucky can’t hold up to full time, no 1 back duties. I like Gainwell too. But, he’s essentially the same a Bucky. He was just a weird signing, unless they are dangling Bucky as a trade?
April 2nd, 2026 at 11:08 am
You couldn’t get Jack Squat for Bucky. Maybe, a 6th or 7th, at BEST. Hell, he was what a 4th-Round Pick to begin with, has only 2-years left under contract, and NOW has some SERIOUS injury (and “mental”) issues. Plus, he’s coming off of a poor season. Wirfs obviously, has the most value. Winfield Junior would have some. Vea, at the trade deadline SHOULD BE a move to make (along with Winfield Jr.). Godwin has ZERO right now, with THAT contract. The only way you can move HIM would also be at the ‘deadline’ at half of this season’s money, IF he’s fully healthy, looking good, AND having a great season. But, then we’d be left with A BUNCH of Dead Cap, though we most surely will be regardless of what happens to him. Hopefully, McCollum is having a very solid season as well, so that we can move HIM at the deadline, too!!!! Kancey would definitely be another one… MOVE HIM too, when we are sitting there at 2-6. TANK for Jeremiah Smith. Don’t draft a QB, until the ROSTER is entirely REBUILT Randy STACKED.
April 2nd, 2026 at 11:19 am
McCollum and his contract are untradable for anything of value. Vea, Diaby and Mauch are FA in ’27. Best trade targets right now or costly resigning. We should be drafting their replacements now. There are only so many 20 mil contracts for Oprah to give out. Maybe we can resign Mauch for an injury discount.
April 2nd, 2026 at 11:32 am
Trade Todd Bowles!!
April 2nd, 2026 at 11:33 am
This is a waste of space. You know what you’re doing
April 2nd, 2026 at 11:35 am
“Wirfs obviously, has the most value. Winfield Junior would have some. Vea, at the trade deadline SHOULD BE a move to make (along with Winfield Jr.)”
Trading Wirfs would free up $25M in cap this year, but would also come with a $10M dead cap figure in ’26 and $25M in dead cap in ’27.
Godwin is in the same boat, I think trading him this year would also cost as much as $50M in dead money.
So do we mean value as in a more interesting trade lure or value in terms of what we get in return while also paying out the back end in dead money?
Vita would be the most plausible trade option, but that’s only because his dead cap wouldn’t be as immense as a Winfield, Wirfs, or Godwin.
Either way, if there’s dead money involved it cuts into the value of the trade because we’d be paying for losing those players just to gain who knows what in return.
April 2nd, 2026 at 11:44 am
Oh you must have drank the kool aid too Joe- tow the company line one of the best o lines in the nfl- what a joke. They are not good.
Trade Wirfs, don’t re-sign Baker- fire Licht and Bowles

NO. They’re NOT. We have a GM who has been HORRIBLE, in every possible way. And, all we ever get is EXCUSES. Well, he’s not really responsible’ for hiring and firing head coaches, or now that was a “TODD Pick.” Well, he drafted Mike Evans AND don’t forget the signing of Shaq Barrett LoL. Yeah, okay then… I would HOPE that you could get lucky every once in awhile, and make at least a ‘handful’ of good moves over the course of 13+YEARS!!!! I mean, come on. They always, give HIM all the credit for the good moves, but rarely EVER is held fully responsible, for any of the BAD. And, the “bad” has been REALLLY BADDD. Tell me HOW TF that is… So, HOW does that work!? Hmmmmm… It’s ABSURD. It’s ALL Smoke & Mirrors.
We have WEAK SCARED Owners, who don’t know what the hell THEY’RE DOING. It’s just like what Nick Wize said yesterday on WDAE (the only one who is even worth listening to on there nowadays)… He said, judging from Joel Glazer’s statements, it sounds to him that they are literally “SCARED TO DEATH” of returning back to the “Lost Decade” years (WHO was responsible for 60% of those years, by the way!? – That’s right, JL)… That is the reason they are running the team ‘the way’ they are now, with keeping Bowles (and JL), & etc. Well, I’ve got news for THEM… They are well on their way right NOW, and they don’t even KNOW IT. Again, they do not even possess the ability to see or recognize it, from not knowing what the hell they’re DOING.
I’m not getting into all of it now, BUT you cannot run a team or franchise, while being AFRAID. It just tells you ALL you need to know. They are WEAK and SCARED. Actually, ‘WINNING’ is not THE ‘priority’ for them. Making $$$$$, while settling for MEDIOCRITY IS. Just as long as they are not a total, complete embarrassment, and in the basement of the league. They are good with that. Completely, FINE. And, it’s because they don’t have even the first clue of HOW to start-over and rebuild. They are again, too scared and too weak to make the real TOUGH decisions, in order to do what IT TAKES. They are too comfortable. They already have their Super Bowl, so they’re GOOD. Owners like them, who prefer to remain in the background and collect a check, NEED a ‘strong and aggressive’ HC and GM. The problem being, I don’t believe that THEY would even know WHERE to start! But, they also prefer a “Yes-Man” such as the miserable Lickt.
I really wish Joe would write an article today or tomorrow on what Dave Portnoy said this morning concerning his BOSOX (who have become an embarrassment with the way in which they’ve treated THEIR FANS over the last several years, since refusing to PAY MOOKIE, before trading HIM away). He talked about Owners who are now owning ‘multiple’ professional sports franchises. And, he was 💯 absolutely CORRECT. I really hope that Joe posts that clip from “Wake Up Barstool” this morning, with an article, so that everyone here can see it. It is exactly where the Bucs are right now, with THIS current group of owners. I’m afraid that we’ll all have to eventually, BOYCOTT.
I’ll tell you one thing that is for certain… I will NOT continue to support THIS. You have to tear it all DOWN and eliminate this good ole “Buddy-Buddy” system FIRST, before you can get better. This current “way” will NOT work. It’s a sinking ship and a dead franchise. There is just no-way, that a true “Bucs Fans” can just continue to sit there, and support THIS. I mean, hell, WHY would you!? There’s just waaaayyy too much out there today, and way better options. I mean, they are going nowhere, and FAST. I believe they are too STUPID to even know it yet!
April 2nd, 2026 at 12:26 pm
Everyone needs to find the clip from this morning of Dave Portnoy on “Wake Up Barstool,” talking about his BOSOX Owners. It is the Bucs ownership group to a tee. They need to sell the team. 💯
April 2nd, 2026 at 12:27 pm
Our new O.C is not gonna let his starting tailback leave before the season starts! Then ur down to Steelers MVP mind you to do all the lifting!? Incredulous since when healthy and a better blocking scheme Bucky is a top ten talent! Cant go one step up and two steps back….well maybe the Bucs can
April 2nd, 2026 at 12:36 pm
@ Stupid is as stupid does
I can’t stand that she boy either. He’s the definition of D. O. U. C. H. E….
He Never has an even sort of decent thing to say about the Bucs. It seems likely to me that back in the day, that the goofy waterboy on the team Must Have taken his woman for his own and she said she found a real man, and he just couldn’t cope.
Just like Henry Winkler in the “Waterboy”, once his manhood was taken by a towel boy, he started wearing high heals with plenty of lipstick and became the anti man that we All know today. Sworn enemy of the Bucs org No matter how childish his commentary clearly IS…. Another sad football tragedy.
April 2nd, 2026 at 12:44 pm
No one is going to trade for a back that has average numbers and is potential a head case!
April 2nd, 2026 at 1:29 pm
RB’s with Bucky’s skillset are a dime a dozen. 8-10 players drafted in the first 5 rounds this year will be better options for other NFL teams. Why trade for a dinged up , emotional but moderately productive player? Just make a pick in three weeks.
April 2nd, 2026 at 1:36 pm
This is CRAZY trade talk
Bucky is NOT a # 1 bell cow running back
But he is a EXTREMELY valuable offensive weapon
Bird in the hand….
April 2nd, 2026 at 1:38 pm
Our best bet is to draft Arkansas RB Mike Washington Jr in the 3rd round
And get what we can for Bucky , and Tucker
Or release one of them during the final cuts
April 2nd, 2026 at 1:39 pm
We should sign and trade Baker for a one and two in 2027 and a two in 2028. Then we should bring back Trask and Bridgewater and really tank. Warning: facetious.

Washington Jr. is one of my favorite prospects in this class — and a genuine upgrade to the running back room. 4.33 at 6’1″, 223 pounds, Speed Score of 126.9 — best since 2017. You don’t manufacture that athleticism.
But picks are currency. Unless we trade down and stack premium picks, spending a 1, 2, or 3 on offense with the defensive holes we’re carrying isn’t justifiable. That’s construction.
When you get a moment — look up Kaden Wetjen, Iowa. Two-time Jet Award winner. Only man to ever hold that distinction. 563 punt return yards, four return TDs in 2025. But don’t let the returner label fool you — he’s the only player in the nation since 2009 to score a rushing, receiving, kickoff return, and punt return touchdown in the same season. Jet sweeps, quick screens — manufactured touches, yes, but he made defenses pay every time. At the Shrine Bowl, Yahoo Sports had him as the best receiver on the field. Refined route-running that Iowa never fully unlocked.
One more thing worth noting — Danny Smith was in Pittsburgh when they were actively targeting Wetjen. He’s now our special teams coordinator. Smith already knows this man’s value.
Late 4th, early 5th.

Very surprised Joe and some of you other Boneheads aren’t suggesting we trade Bucky and draft Sadiq to play RB. Remember, he is big, fast, can catch and run, and jump high. Fricking combine drooling idiots.

Talk to me about Kaden Wetjen. Iowa’s Swiss Army knife — RB, WR, returner.
What’s your take?”
April 2nd, 2026 at 6:49 pm
I think Kaden Wetjen is the type of player we need
He can flip the field position as return man
And l think he can be useful as a WR
There’s a lot we can do with a player of his caliber

An undersized RB coming off an injury plagued season with below average stats. You might get a fifth rounder if you’re lucky. Maybe you swap picks in the 4th if you’re lucky.
