Tristan Wirfs talked to Joe after today’s gut-punch home loss to the Steelers.
The Bucs choked away a 16-3 fourth-quarter lead and the mood in the Bucs locker room had a funeral vibe, especially after Joe was in the Steelers locker room talking to Pittsburgh hero Jamel Dean.
Mr. Wirfs, is not finishing games physical or mental?
“You know, I don’t really know, to be honest,” Wirfs said. “We’re up by 13 and, I don’t know. I don’t have anything. I’m not going to say anything right now. I don’t know what it is. It’s insanely frustrating. You know, to be up 13 at home. We haven’t won a fuck*ing home game yet. And to not be able to finish out the game is really frustrating.”
Joe followed up, “Is the crowd the way it was today, heavy Steelers, is that frustrating to you when you’re on the field?”
Wirfs defended Bucs fans.
“Can you blame [Bucs fans]?” Wirfs fired back. “You know, we’re 1-4 and haven’t really given them much to cheer about.
“So, yeah, it sucks. It sucks when you’re going damn near silent count at home. But you gotta give [fans] something to cheer for.”
“Is it a mood among the team of disbelief? How would you describe the mood? “Joe asked.
“I’d say we’re pretty pissed,” Wirfs said. “Yeah, I’d say that’s the mood.”

Defensively the Bucs are good at times. Offense is where the major issues are. They have no chemistry whether it’s been Mayfield or Daniels. Definitely next coach needs to be an OC somewhere that is a passing game guru. Buc passing offense is so out of sync. There is something wrong with timing and other than Johnson, no one can squeeze a ball from the air. The drops are pathetic. Pass blocking not too good either.

I find it difficult to believe the players are “pissed”. At who? Yourselves? I bet there are 52 people in that locker room that are pointing the finger at everyone BUT themselves. You’re in the locker room Tristian,you’re on the field being paid more per game than most will see in a year. If you’re pissed, then at who?? Why would people waste their money, a LOT of money on tickets, parking, food etc, spend hours in traffic when they could be home relaxing before work begins on Monday? To watch over payed losere put on a mediocre performance?

There is plenty of season left, that’s true. Lightning play again on the 20th and there are a bunch of games to follow. As for the Bucs, that season starts next September.

Why would anybody spend all that money on parking, tickets, garbage merchandise and bad food? Waste an off day fighting traffic? To watch over paid losers phone it in? Why are players pizzed? At who? Themselves? I hope so because it’s 100% on them.

Ticket prices are insane, parking pries are ridiculous. Food and drink prices are absurd. Why would anybody spend a week’s worth of money to go to a game? To watch losers phone it in?

while the genius DC allowed 23 points in basically ONE QUARTER

Thats on every Bucs “fan” who sells their tickets to the highest bidder. Its impossible but the Bucs should ban resales of tickets in the lower bowl. Simple solution. I’d rather have it be empty than watch a bunch of flag waving fux celebrating in our own house
