Emeka Egbuka Ruled Out For Sunday

October 30th, 2026

The good news is Emeka Egbuka is cleared to play football following a concussion. However, he’s been ruled out for Sunday’s big game against the Falcons with a lingering foot issue.

As expected, Antoine Winfield will return from a rib injury that cost him the past three games. Luke Goedeke is maybe, per Todd Bowles, but the Bucs’ starting right tackle missed days of practice this week (calf) after not playing Sunday. Ben Chukwuma filled in very well in his place last Sunday.

  1. ElioT Says:

So much for that “deepest WR room” BS everyone was so confident in entering the season. The Buc’s WRs are borderline terrible

    —-

Also, if the defense reverts back to crap with mis-comms all over the place… #31’s value needs to be reassessed.

  2. Winny Testaverde Says:

He played like he was a national champion for the first handful of games last season. He has been oft-injured and ordinary at best since. Meanwhile former Buckeye teammate JSN has become a top 3 receiver in the league.

  3. football 1 Says:

My guess this injury has and will continue to bother him the rest of the season. Unfortunate. Presently the receiving core looks pretty thin. Maybe trade for a receiver?.

  4. Erik with Unique Modern Art Says:

    Addition by Subtraction.

  5. Erik with Unique Modern Art Says:

Our WR group is better without Egbuka taking reps from our other WR’s.

  6. 813bucboi Says:

    more Tez and Ted please!!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  7. Joseph C Simmons Says:

I swear the fans in these comment sections are emotional children.

EE will be an excellent NFL receiver. It’s early in his second year. My God. Grow up.

  8. itzok Says:

He’s been out since week 7 of last season.

At least this week he won’t drop any passes

looks like we drafted a number 3 receiver in the first round

  9. buc4evr Says:

Bucs need to find a way to bring Shep back. like right now.

  10. Anon Says:

Cleared protocol and soft benched. Win for health and win for the team.

Glad we’re all finally in agreement about this WR room being bad. Felt like the twilight zone when people assumed it was among the best in the league without any reasons to think that.

  11. Cutlass Quartermane Says:

Tell Needs more touches. Im tired of him and J Mac

  12. Cutlass Quartermane Says:

    Tez *

  13. Saskbucs Says:

Let’s talk about their pass catchers!

The Bucs have proven to be pretty good at shutting down opposing WRs this season.

Will the Falcons be smart? If they are, how much money can we make betting on Kyle Pitts this week?

What was his last time out against the Bucs and Bowles D? 140 yards and 3 TDs? 70 yards and 1 TD is currently +1200. That’s a $10 bet to return $130 for the kids playing at home.

  14. Borimex 813 Says:

    JASON LICHT, GLAZER FAMILY 🚨
I’m BEGGING YOU, PLEASE MAKE THE CALL FOR BRIAN THOMAS JR.!

I’m literally pleading with this ownership and front office. PLEASE, for the love of this franchise, DO SOMETHING! Pick up the phone and call Jacksonville about Brian Thomas Jr.!

This kid is only 24 years old! He exploded for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie. You don’t just lose that kind of talent overnight! He’s explosive, dangerous downfield, and desperately needs a fresh start. GIVE HIM ONE IN TAMPA BAY!

I’m tired of watching this offense struggle to make big plays. Egbuka has been a massive disappointment. I’m sorry, but the guy is softer than a cheeseburger! Where’s the physicality? Where’s the toughness? Where’s the fight to go up and TAKE a football? He’s done absolutely NOTHING to convince me he can be the difference maker this team desperately needs.

We need DOGS on this football team! Players who attack the football, stretch defenses, and make opponents fear them!

I’m not saying Thomas comes without risk, but the upside is enormous. At the very least, TAKE A FLYER ON HIM! Find out what Jacksonville wants. Get creative. Give this young man an opportunity to resurrect his career while helping resurrect our offense!

Jason Licht, I’m BEGGING YOU. Stop standing around watching this offense deteriorate. The November 10 trade deadline is approaching. Show this fan base you’re serious about winning!

MAKE THE CALL! BRING BRIAN THOMAS JR. TO TAMPA BAY!

  15. Obvious Says:

EE will end up being a solid and probably even good WR in the league. He needs health and a legitimate offensive HC that can open up his potential. JSN took his huge jump in year three. I don’t expect him to be at that level, but a consistent 100 catch, 1200 is certainly possible.

As for the injuries, yes, I remember getting lambasted for talking about how Jmac is injury prone.

We have to throw it to Ted and get him more experience. With the right guy leading the ship those two can be a good one two punch. You never expect anything from Jmac. You just assume he’ll be on IR

  16. Scott McKirahan Says:

I know Tez will show up, given the opportunity. We need much more from Hurst and Godwin, assuming Robinson has a clue how to scheme receivers open.

  17. Erik with Unique Modern Art Says:

Egbuka has terrible hands right now and zero confidence. He is a liability out there.

And I have no confidence in him until he earns it by catching the football consistently and not dropping routine balls consistently.

Egbuka was great for the 1st half of his rookie season and he has been terrible since then.

Saying he will be an excellent NFL WR is just wishful thinking and is not based on current reality or truth.

  18. Earnest Graham Says:

All you Johnny Optimist’s who believe in Egbuka, get real 😂 first rounders, especially WRs, show you their true colors early. He’s gonna have parenthesis after his name on every week’s injury report, just one of those guys. I’m not necessarily a Licht hater, but how many of his high rounders is the fanbase “SHOCKED!” that ____ player fell to us, just for the rest of the league to end up being right. OJ Howard. Barton. Egbuka. Bain. I could keep going.

buc4evr I say without reservation that you are an intelligent person

  20. ProffeserVonBrainStorm Says:

Another first round draft bust by Bud Licht. We needed defense and he went his own way. Such an imbecile.

Then he hires the OC that doesn’t use WR’s. Classic low brow thinking.

How will Mayfield get his league leading 64 yards passing now???

2-6 coming up. Can’t wait to hear the excuses and propaganda.

One game out of first place!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  21. Dan the Bucs Fan Says:

Tez Johnson produces every time he is on the field. I’m ok with Ebuka not playing he doesn’t impact the game at all. Tez Johnson does and always has. I get Tez is small but Ebuka drops the ball more times then not so why does it matter?

Run the ball we win the game

  22. can-we-get-rid-of-Licht-for-godsake? Says:

hey off topic but more new evidence that our not-ROH-worthy Tom-Brady-handpuppet GM Jason Licht has serious executive function deficiencies –
    From the Athletic :
Has the NFL trade deadline actually become more active in recent seasons?
In-season trades have become even more prevalent in recent seasons. From 2020 through 2025, teams executed 100 in-season trades. From 2014 to 2019, they executed 59.

    Top 3 teams :
    2004-14 2015-25 CHANGE
    Jets 3 18 +15
    49ers 2 14 +12
    Jaguars 4 15 +11

    Bottom 2 teams :

    2004-14 2015-25 CHANGE

    Seahawks 9 8 −1
    Buccaneers 9 2 −7

So Jason Licht is either too stupefied by bourbon , too timid to make decisions ,
or just doesn’t care enough about the Bucs to make trades – or maybe he is so egotistical and narcissistic that he can never admit failure

  23. Elite Vita Says:

Many needs for this club but personally I would like the Bucs to get an elite pass catching tight end with in the first 2 rounds of the 2027 draft.

  24. can-we-get-rid-of-Licht-for-godsake? Says:

According to the Athletic JL has made fewer in season trades than ANY other team in the NFL during his tenure

  25. can-we-get-rid-of-Licht-for-godsake? Says:

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the only team to make significantly fewer in-season trades, down from nine to two. The Buccaneers have not made an in-season trade since 2020. Does that mean they might not be sellers this year even if they reach the deadline at 2-7?”
    The Athletic

  26. adam from ny Says:

i agreed with myself to stop calling him the eggman after his rookie year…

but he has regressed significantly since his early stint in the league, when lining up with mike evans, and while he caught the league sleeping for a mere moment…

i am back to calling him the eggman because he is worse than he was after he hit his rookie wall…

he is worse than he was a a rookie, and maybe his big brain has even become scrambled…

    scrambled eggs…scrambled eggman…

the eggman needs some sriracha sauce to spice things up

  27. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

32nd in pass yards per game
    30th in EPA
30th in yards per pass attempt w/4.6 yards per attempt vs 4.8 yards per run(3rd best in the NFL)
30th in explosive pass plays with 12 explosives in 7 games just for reference, the GB Packers have generated 33 pass plays of 20 yards or more and they lead the league

but yea, maybe Egbuka stinks because he can’t thrive in this highly efficient and uber functioning passing attack that frightens our opponents or maybe we can just line him up in the backfield and make better use of him from there.

  28. Winny Testaverde Says:

For “only” $200…you too can sign up for the knee-slapping/rib tickling content of Joey C. Simmons: “entrepreneur”. Feels like a bargain…perhaps exclusive to JBF readers.

  29. Simple T Says:

Not upset that EE is out à the moment.
Chris, Tez, Ted, Cade, Bucky, Kenny are more than enough if Z-Rob and Baker do their jobs.

  30. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

    Bring up
Garrett Green from the PS !

  31. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I don’t understand how you can take the league by storm for half a season and then continuously stink up the joint after that. I kind of agree with Borimex we should at least kick the tires on Brian Thomas Jr.

  32. Joe Bob Pigskin Says:

Joe, do the Panthers know Todd is available???

  33. MadMax Says:

Chukwuma did very well….lets hope he keeps it up. Falcons D is different, especially their pass rush.

  34. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

It’s going to be a TORN up field by the end of the game.

  36. BucU Says:

  37. MadMax Says:

Reminds me of a time a long time ago when i was being trained at a job….dude asked me if im “ignant”, before training and i had to pause for a few seconds to shake my head and told him, “if i pronounce the word ignorant as ignant, no im not” he got mad, started cursing while walking away and i responded with “im just saying the troof”.

  38. Tackleblockwin Says:

Get him all healed up. We have plenty of games left and somehow are still in the race.

  39. Erik with Unique Modern Art Says:

EE is Michael Clayton 2.0 as of right now.

  40. ElioT Says:

Drafted a porcelain doll in the first round who doesn’t have any elite measurables.

  41. buc4evr Says:

I’m ok with bringing Greene up from th PS if Jason is too stupid to get Shep back. Greene seems to be able to catch the ball, runs good routes and more of a possession WR, but doesn’t drop the ball like EE and Hurst.

The other problem is that we have an OC that can’t design vertical passing plays to save his azz. Using GG for behind the LOS type WR screens is a waste. The guy is unable to exploit match ups in the passing game. Should be interesting to see what happens playing his old team.

  42. Hodad Says:

Bucs will be running the ball 100 times whether it works, or not. Next two games will determine the season. Just before the trade deadline, with the bye. Now or never Buc fans.

  43. Stpetematt Says:

Obviously he’s got turf toe and has had it since the preseason. We will probably end up shutting him down for the year. It definitely explains why he has been pretty bad this year. We need him to get back to 100% before he gets back on the field or this injury will nag him maybe until next year.

  44. McBay Says:

Scotty Miller is available. He was always an underrated blocker, and perfected the art of chest catching. Sign him.

The Pom Pom squad is so upset that everyone doesn’t spew lemming speak like compliant seals.

They actually believe we make a difference in the outcome of games by the opinion we type on a message board.

I believe they just want an echo chamber of their own thoughts repeated back to them.

Makes them feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Reality must be a bitter pill for them come Sunday.

  48. Winny Testaverde Says:

    This just in/mystery solved…

Mad Maxine apparently works at The Burger King inside of a Walmart. Not a thing in the world wrong with that…it does help connect the dots, however.

    Waaaahhhhh 😭

Let’s go Bucs – big game upcoming.

  50. Winny Testaverde Says:

Many of us are with you Simple T-bag! Saying EE has fallen off a cliff production wise isn’t rooting against the team.

    Under reported positive news!
Dude is a solid depth piece…. If our O-line (and D-line) can continue playing like they did in Carolina we can beat anybody.

  55. ProffeserVonBrainStorm Says:

Uncomfortable truths are always hard for the masses of the gullibly dumb.

They prefer the comfortable lies that reinforce their misinformed views.

Those of us that speak unvarnished truths are usually shouted down and mocked.

So be it. I shall wear my scarlet letter with pride. Fire Bowles Now!!!!

  56. 47 Says:

He’s probably fed up with the head coach just like Mike!

  57. Oscar Says:

I guess everyone has forgotten about the toe injury Egbuka had during training camp(turf-toe?).Many were talking about how that type of injury can linger and be problematic. Now no one even questions the nature of this foot injury. Very strange imo. Based on how he’s looked all year, that’s likely the reason. Last year, at least in the first half, he was making catches that were JSN like. He hasn’t been the same ever since. He’s not laying out to make catches, he seems very tentative with little explosion. When healthy, he’s shown what great talent he has. I hope he’s not another injury prone receiver. We’ve had a lot of injury problems the last 3 years in the receiving room with Godwin, Evans, McMillan and now Egbuka! We haven’t had consistently healthy receivers since 2023.

  58. 80sBucsfan Says:

    Worse GM?

    Licht or JBB?

  59. McBay Says:

Wave your Pom Poms proudly, fans. I’m excited for another great Bucs game, win or lose, I know that Bowles will have them prepared to be at their best with another excellent game plan, all the attention to the other things that matter.

  60. Buc1987 Says:

McBay…wins are the ONLY thing that matter.

Get that through your THICK skull.

So when they fire Bowles at the end of the season(and they will)you’ll understand why. Other things DON’T matter. Just wins.

  61. MadMax Says:

awe, poor winny is traumatized from a bad experience at a burger joint…low standards beget low expectations (hey look, i connected a dot).
Sorry pal but you should be more like me and never go to those jitholes
