Benjamin Morrison Stands Tall
September 13th, 2026
It wasn’t perfect for Bucs cornerback Benjamin Morrison today against the Bengals, but it sure was damn encouraging.
Joe has to acknowledge the young man.
Pressed into duty early in the first half after fellow second-year cornerback Jacob Parrish left the game with a back injury, Morrison jumped in to replace him and did a solid job.
Stud Bengals receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins combined for only 5 catches and 71 yards receiving. If you told Joe a month ago (or seven hours ago) that would be their output facing a weak Buccaneers pass rush and cornerbacks Morrison and Zyon McCollum, Joe would have laughed out loud.
Morrison finished the game with a pass defensed, a tackle for loss and four total tackles. The 29-yard pass he allowed to Higgins late in the game was an All-Pro level catch. Not much Morrison could have done there.
Morrison, 22, missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury after missing a lot of game action last season. He played in half of the final preseason game two weeks ago and the Bucs proclaimed him to be healthy. And that he was.
Joe hopes Morrison can build on this performance. And it seems there’s a good chance he’ll be starting for Parrish on Sunday against the Browns.
The Bucs might have quality cornerbacks depth after all. Maybe.

He played well, popping dudes.
Let’s hope he stays healthy.
September 13th, 2026 at 7:30 pm
Benji Morrison gonna be a star for the Bucs
If only we can get these big money players to play
September 13th, 2026 at 7:34 pm
Happy for Morrison. He looked good, solid tackler. Read plays and stuck his hat in there to bring guys down. First time I’ve actually gotten to see him play. Keep it rolling.
September 13th, 2026 at 7:49 pm
Was McCollum on the Higgins catch.
Morrison was lights out. Encouraging if we can figure out the pass rush and replace
Analzone!
September 13th, 2026 at 7:50 pm
He was a shut down corner at Notre Dame. Here we go.
September 13th, 2026 at 7:54 pm
Yeah, McCollum was the corner on Higgins diving catch at the end.
Morrison had the crossing route on Higgins in which he tried to tackle Jim’s Dan Higgins stepped out of it and turned it upfield for more YAC…ughhhhhhh!!
Played good other than that play…
September 13th, 2026 at 7:55 pm
Both corners played pretty well. 0 turnovers and we win this game running away.
So we need to learn from it and clean up our act. Trotter had a fabulous debut, too!
September 13th, 2026 at 8:04 pm
Proud of Ben today. He and Zyon were unexpected bright spots
September 13th, 2026 at 8:12 pm
I have been ripping on him. It was hotter than hell up here today, he was playing against top level talent, and he performed at an extremely high level, nice work kid! Very impressive, make me look stupid some more!
September 13th, 2026 at 8:17 pm
I had to look up Morrison’s number cuz I had scant chance to learn it last year. I was actually shocked at how well he played. McCollum played pretty darn well too, at least early. Both lines played like pure unadulterated crap. Ball security was a joke. I don’t have much of a sense of humor. Trotter was decent. Pretty much everybody else should have stayed home. That was truly disgusting. We should not have capitulated to Via. As of tonight I’d take a forth round pick for his obese azz.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:19 pm
Morrison played fantastic. He was physical and sticky in coverage. The kid is super talented and all the bozos who write off rookies, especially CBs need to realize it takes time.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:21 pm
Generally good coverage extort their TE….he ran wild on us.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:22 pm
Burrow did not need to pass to Higgens and Chase when he had Mike Gesicki wide open on every play. One thing about Bowles’ D, the opposing TE always ends up looking like Gronk in his prime. Trotter showed up but Anzaloni was a know show and Burrow had absolutely no pressure on him all day. Same old Bowles’ D. Plus there is the Bowles’ AFC North curse, guy cannot win a game in that division.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:23 pm
He played great. I’ve talked so much smack on him, but ill eat my humble pie. He was fantastic today in run support and the only play that he gave up on the cross to Higgins got messed up when McCollum missed the help on the crosser. BMo played awesome today, hope he stays healthy and keeps improving
September 13th, 2026 at 8:24 pm
Lakeland…
Spot on with getting the high paid players to step up.
AW jr has been MIA since signing his contract. I thing he’s cut after this season.
Baker didn’t deserve to be handed THAT contract! I’ve been saying all off-season to make him prove it. Today he proved he still is reckless with the football and no where near a top 3 QB.
Vita looks pretty washed up. Maybe he needs to get in shape, but he’s another one I would’ve held off on extending.
Week 1, so I don’t want to overreact, but those 3 are suppose to be leaders and stars. All 3 player like trash today.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:38 pm
Yeah that catch by Higgins was pretty sick, absolutely nothing Morrison could have done on that one!
September 13th, 2026 at 8:43 pm
Could have had John Harbaugh who is making the Giants look respectable against the Cowboys but no this ownership thought bringing back Bowles and his garbage defense was the answer.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:46 pm
B-Mo was not BBQ’d today. Probably the most confident he’s looked(and played) in a Bucs uniform. With Parrish being questionable, Morrison has an opportunity to win his job or carve out a role and make that 3 CB rotation with McCollum going. Said over the offseason, the plan isn’t depth per se but to be able to go match up based on personnel while having the nickel covered with 2 of the 3. Like we did with Winfield-Edwards-Whitehead at safety.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:56 pm
Just crazy how the CBs were considered the weakest unit on the team and they ended up being the best unit for the game. Says a lot about the lack of preparedness and focus this team had going into this game. The players are responsible for their poor play, but Bowles owns the result.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:58 pm
BM played like trash. He’s the clown who lost the game. The rest of the team had to pick up its mental pieces after his little fumble gift to Cincy right before the endzone. I’m still disgusted, even after being a fan for 47 years. Morrison played well and so did Trotter. LVD won’t be the easiest player to replace. I was sorry Parrish got hurt cos I was looking forward to hearing him play. Not quite sure what’s going on with the Bucs O and DLines? They should be playing better than they did.
September 13th, 2026 at 9:00 pm
Only guy other than Trotter that stood out. The pass rush looked like the worst in the league, especially since I watched a lot of football today. Vea was a waste of money. Anzalone was horrendous, and Bain looked like a child amongst men. Diablo, as usual, did very little. Our run defense even looked worse than last year. Still getting dinked and dunked on, so no surprises there. If we lose to Cleveland, this season is as good as done.
I wanna be mad at Baker, but the defense had a shot to put us in a position to win, and failed at the end like they usually do. Baker got little to no protection in this game. Receivers weren’t getting open, other than Egbuka. Godwin seems to just be good for 3 to 5 receptions a game. Put Hurst over him at this point.
Baker threw no picks, so you can’t really be mad at him with the limited protection he got. He was forced to scramble on that fumble in the red zone. And even if he did score, the defense allowed the Bungals, who didn’t look amazing, in field goal range once again at the end of the game. So, we still would’ve lost. I’d say, with the terrible o-line and defense, as well as the drop by Otton on a crucial 3rd and long, Baker pretty much played the best he could.
So in closing, reserve all the blame for the poor defense, and o-line that got bullied most of the game.

It would be huge if Morrison plays up to his potential. He’s a guy who was seen as a 1st rounder until he got injured his senior year. I know watching his college tape, he looked fantastic, like someone who should translate really well to the NFL. Hopefully this is more than just a one off and now that he’s healthy, he can keep it up.
Also, BTW, SMB should be active for week 2 I’d guess. You don’t want to activate him before week 1 since that guarantees his deal – generally you wait until week 2 in case he’s a shell of himself and you need to cut him. But that should hopefully add some more much needed depth.
September 13th, 2026 at 9:06 pm
The Bucky fumble was possibly worse than the first Baker fumble. Both resulted in a TD. The Bucky strip fumble was worse because he saw the defender and still didn’t protect the fumble.
But at the end, that didn’t matter. Our defense failed to force a punt with 3 timeouts. That’s bad, real bad…

LOL! The spin by the Baker Boi(s) never fails..
Here’s a fact, Baker Mayfield singlehandedly cost the Bucs this game.
Period.
That’s 5 loses on Baker in his last 6 games. 5 loses where he singlehandedly didn’t get the team a chance to win the game.
September 13th, 2026 at 9:13 pm
Everyone here, including me, were most concerned defensively with our corners. They exceeded expectations today!
Go Bucs! Home opener!!
September 13th, 2026 at 9:20 pm
We lost. He sucks ass.
September 13th, 2026 at 9:28 pm
Encouraging? What, exactly, about that sht show was encouraging? The crybaby who things that, somehow, $40 million is underpaid? That fat-man hold out that did literally nothing? The int. The fumble? The lackluster defense?? The ONLY encouraging thing about today is knowing that there are only 16 more games to ensure and then at last, Toilet Bowles will be unemployed.

DEI hire Toad Bowels. Loser getting a paycheck due to his race.

Keep proving me wrong Benjamin
September 13th, 2026 at 9:36 pm
Everyone played great today. Coaching was superb. Refs were paid off. And don’t forget the injuries. Wirfs and Vea missed the whole offseason. They’re worth every penny.
September 13th, 2026 at 9:37 pm
Wonder if Licht and the Glazers family are lying awake right now with buyers remorse. We are tied to Baker and he will probably lead the league again in turnovers unfortunately. He has all the potential, but so did Jameis.

I saw where Jameel Dean was was too chicken to tackle a ball carrier and injured by a teammate rolling up his ankle. Glad he’s not here anymore. Hopefully Morrison won’t be peanut brittle
September 13th, 2026 at 9:39 pm
Morrison stepped up as did Zyon….no pressure on the QB and poor tackling needs to be addressed….
Offensively Baker lost the game with his turnovers while Zac abandoned the run in the 1st quarter
Lots to clean up starting with keeping Baker on a short leash by running the ball

It’s not bad enough that we lost but how we lost. This team is the same embarrassment as the end of last season with the same problems. What is even worse is now you can’t even rebuild after this season cause they spent everything they had re signing a 31 year old QB and a 31 year old over the hill DT that can’t get to the QB in Vita.
September 13th, 2026 at 9:40 pm
Morrison was great! One of the few bright spots today.

In the last 12 games we are 3-9 with Toilet Bowels. Only in Tampa.

STFU!!!!!
Defense was put in a bad position all game due to baker and his turnovers…
You’re full of it

Yeah the CBs were the big (only) pleasant surprise today. Gotta give new CB coach Rashad Johnson some credit
September 13th, 2026 at 10:21 pm
At least baker had 82 percent completions. I like to see the glass half full😊
September 13th, 2026 at 10:24 pm
Normally, the QB gets way too much credit for a win and way too much blame for a loss. However, three turnovers—and not the apple kind—determined that Baker lost this game. PERIOD…
September 13th, 2026 at 10:28 pm
What’s encouraging is, the team’s three highest paid players all showed up and showed out. Vea was a force in the middle, Wirfs was amazing and Baker gave the Bucs a chance as always.
September 13th, 2026 at 10:40 pm
Cosmo
Can’t wait for Bowles and Licht to be gone, but Cmon dude. DEI BS? That’s lame, weak and just plain stupid.
September 13th, 2026 at 10:41 pm
Baker played great. There were defensive penalties on every one of the so called “fumbles.”
September 13th, 2026 at 10:42 pm
Yep. Mr Mid QB lost the game. Good thing we extended him for $55 million per year!
🤣🤣🤡🤡

Sadly, Baker triggered a Keith Jackson flashback for me. FUMMM-BULL!
September 13th, 2026 at 11:01 pm
It’s crazy some of yall think Zyon is trash. He earned his pay day but had a down year last year. Just cause a player has a bad season doesn’t mean they are trash. 5th rd pick worked his way to be a starter is dam good. He locked down chase.
September 13th, 2026 at 11:14 pm
Qb scared to throw the ball. So he runs instead and fumbles. so if he throws it’s an int if he runs it’s a fumble. So we got, America’s Greatest Turnover Machine QB GREAT!
September 13th, 2026 at 11:32 pm
Blah, blah, blah… I told you this would happen. You didn’t believe me, but now you know. 7-10. Start believing that.
September 14th, 2026 at 12:29 am
Yes Baker cost the game with his fumbles but knock off the not worth the money crap.
Burrow threw for 200 yards and had a pick 6. If the teams were flipped you all would be saying how the D carried him and he’s not worth the money
Drake Maye is gonna get $65 million a year and he just tossed the game away with 3 4th quarter picks.
Stop the nonsense!
September 14th, 2026 at 2:58 am
He surprised me and wasn’t timid out there. Proud of the effort and stepping up.
