Baker Mayfield showed appreciation after win.

The following is a brief summary of some scenes in the Netflix series “Quarterback,” a “Hard Knocks”-like look at NFL quarterbacks. Cameras tail them on and off the field. Joe Flacco, Cam Ward, Jayden Daniels and Baker Mayfield are featured this summer.

* The episode begins with Mayfield’s physical therapist/masseur working on him, specifically his injured left shoulder, in the immediate days after the Bucs’ beat down in Los Angeles. All X-rays on his injured left shoulder in the loss to the Rams were negative (for broken bones), Mayfield said, but it did show an AC sprain in his left shoulder.

* “Pain is miserable,” Mayfield said. “But toughness is something that shows me how bad you want something.”

* At practice that week, backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater told Mayfield, “You a f@cking Texas boy. All you know is work, work, work. You fight through sh!t. But you’re human, motherf@cker.”

* The next scene is practice prior to Week 13 game. Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht asks Mayfield, “If the pain in your knee a few weeks ago was a seven, what is it now?” Mayfield replied it’s better. “A four or a five.”

* Mayfield seemed to insinuate the Bucs couldn’t gameplan against Arizona until they knew he was healthy enough to play.

* In practice that week, Tez Johnson apparently makes a really good block (not shown in the film) and Mayfield chirps his approval. “Good Tez! It’s a touchdown block. That’s a touchdown block! Good sh!t!”

* In the Arizona game, Mayfield said he did not have the same velocity on passes due to his left shoulder injury (he had pain throwing.)

* In the locker room after the win, Mayfield walks clear across the locker room (that is not shown in the film but Joe knows exactly where Mayfield’s locker is) to where the offensive linemen’s lockers are and Mayfield individually bro-hugs each starting offensive linemen for a job well done. Mayfield knows where his bread is buttered.

* Tristan Wirfs explains how at practice early in a game week, Mayfield is joking and laughing with teammates. As game day nears, Mayfield gets more and more intense and becomes a stickler about details, harping on teammates to get everything right.

* Mayfield admitted the team was down in the dumps and “frustrated” with the losing streak but he took it upon himself to go to players individually, saying the team demonstrated it can win earlier in the season so a turnaround is possible. “We executed it early in the year. We did it right. We know how to do it.”

* In a rare moment caught on film, KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles is seen having a one-on-one with his starting quarterback (Joe never saw Bowles have a one-on-one with Tom Brady and can’t recall offhand seeing a one-on-one more than maybe twice with Mayfield — not that it doesn’t happen, it’s just rarely seen). As the Bucs are warming up for the slimy Saints game at home, Bowles tells Mayfield, “You’ve got about an hour and 15 minutes, to about probably the middle of the second quarter, it’s probably going to start pouring.”

* Mayfield told Bowles about how little he respects the science of meteorology.

* After a pass play where Chase Young got quarterback pressure, Mayfield turns to Young and says with the rain pouring down, “This f@cking weather blows.”

* On a pass play late, Kameron Johnson had Alontae Taylor beat on a crossing pattern from the right. For some inexplicable reason, Johnson stopped his route and Mayfield throws right to Taylor (had Johnson kept running the pass was on target). CBS analyst Trent Green says, “Well, [Mayfield] is going to be hot at Kameron Johnson. Johnson just stops on the route.” Green is correct. Mayfield is irate. As he’s walking on the sideline after the play Mayfield says to himself, “Don’t do that fucking sh!t!”

* The collapse against the Dixie Chicks is very much brushed over. After Mayfield throws a key pick late, he’s shown sitting on the bench and slamming his tablet with both hands on the ground.

* There is zee-row mention of third-and-28, zee-row mention of Mike Evans’ meltdown, zee-row mention of Bowles’ postgame profanity-laced diatribe. Zee-row. Like they never happened.

* The loss to the Stinking Panthers was even less mentioned. The only thing worth typing for Joe was that on a Carolina touchdown, Mayfield from the sidelines is screaming for an offensive holding call. “They tackled YaYa!” It’s not known from the film whether YaYa was rushing the passer or attempting to cover a receiver 20 yards downfield.

“I had to let him know that it doesn’t matter if I’m 100% or 50%, you can still get it anywhere.”
