Buccaneers Planning Two Joint Practices With Jets In New Jersey

May 26th, 2026

The Bucs are planning a return to the Jets’ training facility.

Sideline high-steppin’ Jets head coach Aaron Glenn is a good friend of Todd Bowles.

Bowles coached Glenn as part of the Cowboys organization 20 years ago, and both are from the Bill Parcells tree. So it fits that Bowles and Glenn have a strong enough relationship to have two joint practices in New Jersey prior to their preseason opener on Friday, Aug. 14 at MetLife Stadium.

If recent history holds, the Bucs would practice against the Jets on Tuesday and Wednesday of that week, and take Thursday off before Friday’s game.

The last time the Bucs had joint practice with the Jets was a sad day August of 2023. Joe was there and witnessed what essentially marked the end of Russell Gage’s career. The young veteran receiver tore up his knee and never played for Tampa Bay again.

Joe likes this year’s early practices against the Jets. They’ve got a lot of hungry, young players — not a huge pile of veterans going three-quarter speed.

That’s a great point about the hungry young players to hopefully push us. Just please no devastating injuries this offseason. Please and thank you.

And if anyone needs to get a SCOPE / CLEANUP procedure, now is the time!
