A’Shawn Robinson Blesses Bucs Defense

May 26th, 2026

New Bucs defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson is a hard-nosed player with a Rams Super Bowl ring.

The Bucs are paying him top dollar to be part of a three-man wrecking crew with Vita Vea and Calijah Kancey.

The 31-year-old spoke today and blessed Todd Bowles’ defense as one defensive tackles want to play in. Joe sure hopes it is, considering how much Tampa Bay has invested at the position.

“This defense is complex, but it’s also a defense you want to be in if you’re a d-lineman,” Robinson said after underwear football practice today. “You’re going to be aggressive. You’re going to get off and [it] puts O-linemen in certain situations … it’s going to let you be active according to the system we’re playing.”

Yes, Joe has all kinds of hopes and prayers for the maligned Bucs edge rush. But Joe has true belief in the interior defensive line if the trio can stay healthy.

Calijah Kancey is a wrecking ball with a lot to prove. Vita Vea is in a contract year. And so is durable Robinson on a one-year deal.

Here comes the guys who don’t know an over front from an under front to talk about how archaic and ineffective the scheme is.

They each should rush from the edge every once in awhile, with one in the middle

Stevie Wonder and Helen Keller could tell how awful the wide open, soft as butter, pee wee league caliber, Swiss cheese, 32nd ranked red zone defensive scheme is under the guru.

Google is obviously your friend. You wouldn’t know the difference between a 0-technique and 1-technique if one of them was sitting on your face. Don’t act like you’re freaking smart… you’re not. Without Googling it, you wouldn’t know the difference between Cover 3 and Cover 1 if your life depended on it.
