Ira, c’mon buddy the defense on paper is far better than last year! Not even close, better check that. lol!! I was in direct line live for the 3rd and 28 and 4th and 14 disaster. Stll having nightmares… Go Bucs

  2. Fire The Cannons & Fire Todd Says:

How is the defense “on paper” better?

Bucs added Anzelone, who was on the Lions who need defensive help. Guy never made a Pro Bowl.

Bucs added a bunch of 30 something aging defensive players and are relying on a few rookies to energize a sad/soft scheme. Let’s be real, the Bucs defense is still bad until they prove it on the field.

After listening to this Ira, seems more confident in where his grocery items are located than who is on this team SMH

  4. SlyPirate Says:

On the backup QB question, there were so many vets available for less than $3M in the offseason. I just don’t know why they didn’t sign one of them.

  5. KABucs Says:

    Stick

  6. SummerofGeorge Says:

Ira two times Kaufman cracks me up.

In honor of him I’m marinating a steak for dinner paired with some homemade pasta salad.

Perhaps a few adult beverages to go with it.

For dessert, some coyote tracks ice cream.

    Go Bucs!

  7. Kenton Smith Says:

The rain has stopped. The heat has set in, and I don’t mean maybe. Just got back from the mailbox, the squirrels got old Junebug running, and I believe we’re both panting.

We sure do look forward to our favorite podcast. Even when Ira decides to point out that our Buccaneers, so far this offseason, haven’t really shown much improvement.

At the end of last year, it was pretty clear that our defense, special teams, and backup quarterback and line depth needed improvement.

Well, here I was thinking that we had upgraded- or were upgrading, those exact things.

If our OLine had been healthy last year we would have won at least another game or two. Our special teams probably cost us a game. That’s with the defense that we had. Our receivers being out and Bucky not playing like Bucky probably cost us a game. Remember, I haven’t mentioned our defense.

So without the tragic injury toll to our offense, we may have won 11 or 12 games.

Bain. Walker. Muhammad. Robinson. Kancey. Capeheart. Anzalone. Trotter. Scott. Garnes. And the other udfa middle linebacker and Rozeboom. Nacho.

Our DBs could use a little help, but, except for Morrison I believe the rest of them could play anywhere in the secondary and maybe a little linebacker- all of them are pretty good blitzers. Nowadays teams are using those Emmanwori types to play hybrid- they are talented enough to play anywhere on the field except defensive tackle or nose guard. We need to draft us one early next year.

Anyway, all those defenders I named didn’t play on last year’s defense. We could have 4 or 5 or more on the field at the same time this year and all of them are an upgrade to what was on the field last year.

Steve is exactly right- you can’t know what you have on your special teams until you have made the final cuts. They will be practicing those hard the next few weeks.

Jalon Daniels is a project. No way does our new offensive coordinator and passing game coordinator and offensive coordinator lay their necks on the chopping block for this kid as our backup quarterback if they aren’t clearly seeing something. I have seen it, too.

So, in closing I am wondering how we shouldn’t be able to win more games than last year? I’m seeing a much healthier, and much better team. I try to follow up my annual dental exams with my annual eye exams, Sage. You never know, it might even improve your golf game. Ok. It won’t do that.

  8. Rey Gonzalez Says:

Steve, you forgot to include in Jason Licht 2nd rnd history the most egregious, laughable, horrendous 2nd rnd pick in the history of this franchise, Roberto Aguayo. Too many 2rnd pick busts.
Didn’t forget. Only went back through the last 10 picks.–Joe

  9. ColoradoBuc Says:

Ira got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. His position is overblown and unwarranted. I can’t listen to any more of his drivel.
