    A-
Trotter in round 2 weighs it down a little

  4. buc4evr Says:

Think it could turn out to be a good draft. Didn’t think we needed a WR or a TE, would have liked to have seen more heavy defense players. Also thought Trotter was a real reach so I gave the Bucs a B.

  5. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

I went B+. All the most pressing needs were addressed. Round one was a potentially amazing pick. I’m not as high on the Round 2 pick, only because I think Allen could have competed for a starting job this year (which to me is what round 1 and round 2 picks should be able to do), but maybe Trotter will too? A need was at least addressed with a player the Bucs FO thinks is a better prospect than what myself and most others thought…all good. Round 3 seemed like a luxury pick, but we probably could use a big body receiver. Rounds 4-5 were all solid value picks with upside. Round 6 felt like a reach considering the trade up, but at that part of the draft why not throw a dart at a need? I would have said A- if not for what I felt was a reach at ILB, as well as going for a small school WR when the OG from Oregon was still on the board. I’ll give Licht the benefit of the doubt on OL and WR scouting.

  6. Brasho Says:

Just not nearly as much of a fan of Trotter as I was the other three linebackers that were taken around him. Even Pierre. Linebackers and coverage has been a severe Achilles heel for this team for the last few years. Then trading up 10 spots for that tight end, pretty sure that wasn’t necessary. That 7th round pick would be nice. Now to the undrafted free agent signjngs. Licht usually pulls off a few studs there. He routinely finds guys that were overlooked and end up making an impact.

  7. TampaBayBucFan Says:

TBBF……fan bomb the start in 76.
Learned early on to withhold judgment on players until they have had a chance to play.

  8. 28.3.Evans Says:

    A+

  9. MadMax Says:

    B+

I wouldve picked wr 4th or 5th….and the trade up of our 7th and 6th for who might have been there 7th….or maybe im wrong and he’s gonna be a taysom hill type player, and if so, then an A

And the biggest draft is to the wood chiiper for Melvin always putting us down and talking ish…freeze his body first tho!

  10. BucsFan81 Says:

I also went B+ thought it was a reach taking Trotter when CJ Allen was still there.

  11. Curse of Gruden Says:

Licht didn’t pick a punter. Thus, it was a decent draft.

  12. DailyRich Says:

B+. Might have veered into A had we made two more picks instead of trading up for that TE.

  13. Dewey Selmon Says:

The 2 Miami players brought a C- up to B.

  14. Gus Says:

    A for Baines alone.

  15. 40 year Bucs fan Says:

We could’ve had nuismeyer but instead got a practice squad tight end, now the chiefs drafted Garrett, oh well what do I know. I guess licht knows more than the chiefs gm… but I doubt that. I’m not really a fan of this class but it’s what to be expected from licht. SMH

  16. Outrigger Says:

The Trotter pick ruined this draft for me. They should’ve traded up for Jacob Rodriguez or taken CJ Allen at 46. If they liked Trotter so much they should’ve traded down and taken him later. He probably would have still been there with their 3rd pick and they could’ve grabbed a stud DL or corner with the 46th pick. I guarantee that 2 years from now JRod and CJ are in the Pro Bowl and Trotter will be a special teams player at best.

  17. BucsFan28 Says:

I can’t wait for everyone to watch the careers of Trotter and Allen. Allen misses way too many tackles and is very questionable in coverage. There’s a reason he dropped like he did. Trotter has the speed and is a tackling machine.

  18. Jugheadfla2 Says:

C….3rd and 28….Bowels can ruin a cup of coffee

Of course our grade may very well change after the first 4 games are played. Let’s do a re-do after we see what is what!

  22. 1st and Goal Says:

    B
The guys from miami alone make it a B

Still a tiny bit concerned about our ILBs and corners but c’est la vie , we’ve added talent -especially on defense 👍🏼

  23. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    B+

At least to begin with. All these players just started a 3 year clock.

  24. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Hated losing Lavante David, but there was no chance we’d immediately get a replacement of the same quality. We have some good players to buy us time to find the right guy.

  25. 3.28.Evans Says:

Thanks to Joes for all the coverage. You guys all deserve copious drinks and a day of recovery tomorrow.

  26. Saskbucs Says:

    I went B. Almost went B+.

They grabbed the positions we all wanted.

I actually really like the Hurst pick but there is a lot of projection there and 3rd round is fairly rich.

Trotter could be better than the other guys but seems like a bit of a reach at the moment or just doesn’t help the coverage woes.

I like the Edge DT and G. TE doesn’t move the needle but hopefully a good special teams guy.

Hard to say I like the Hurst pick and the complain but I thought we could have double dipped on D at edge or ILB or a DB instead of the trade up for a TE. Offense just wasn’t a priority for this draft, needed to throw as much at the wall on D as possible. So ultimately 3 out of 7 picks to the O brought me to a B.
