“We’re In Witness Protection”

May 10th, 2024

Admits keeping receipts.

Jason Licht admitted it. He believes in the eyes of a football nation folks still think of the Bucs as the Yucs.

And he and his players use it all as motivation.

Licht had a very relaxed, candid Zoom appearance yesterday on the “Pat McAfee Show.” There, McAfee wasted little time teeing Licht up.

After discussing Nikki Glaser on Tom Brady’s roast, McAfee knew exactly how to get Licht going. McAfee pointed out the Bucs have the same ownership group, same general manager, same coach, same quarterback and pretty much the same team that just polished off a three-peat in the NFC South and came close to beating Detroit on the road in the playoffs, yet #NFLMedia is on their knees for the Dixie Chicks.

McAfee asked Licht why that is.

“We’re kind of used to it,” Licht said. “I sometimes feel like down here in Tampa we’re in witness protection. I don’t say we get sh!t on, but (laughs) but there is just a lack of respect.

“You can go on, like Lavonte David is a Hall of Fame type player. He doesn’t get enough credit as he should.

“Mike Evans just recently started getting talked about as a future Hall of Famer. We’re used to it, but you kind of use it as ammo. It’s embedded into the DNA of this team.”

Licht went on to say Baker Mayfield and other Bucs play like guys who’ve been shat on. So Licht all but said, diss the Bucs more but be careful, he remembers.

Just like Licht fired off a Twitter to Cam Jordan of the slimy Saints. Licht will not forget your spit on the pirate flag.

“I love keeping receipts,” Licht said. “I hate to admit it. I do, I’m just going to be honest. I love it. It’s a passion of mine now.

“It’s a pastime of my family. They shoot me texts. ‘This person said this, this, this.’

“It’s all in fun. But it’s been driving us.”

You know how to gain the respect of #NFLMedia? Win.Evans used to get so overlooked he just piled up numbers so sick that pretty soon people couldn’t ignore him.

Same with the Bucs, win games, make a run in the playoffs (again) and watch how #NFLMedia changes.

While Joe agrees with Licht’s comments, it’s almost to the point Joe wonders if the Bucs may take their eyes off the prize. Focus on the task at hand. Win games and eventually the Bucs will get their just props.

Why is it sone players get away with Cam Jordan’s antics and others don’t. I did nit not know he spit on the flag. That is disgusting and I didn’t think it was possible to hate him more. I got the flag tatted on both my fore arms. One us a ship the other us just the skull. Swords and football. He might as well of spit on me. That’s a sissy boy move. He sounds luke a girl amd sashays luke one also he lives prancing and dancing around like a pretty little princess chasing a butterfly. I’ll be in Tampa the day we play them at home and I’ll be back home for the first rime in 23 years. My home where I grew up in the mud. I’ll be screaming at that fool as loud as I can.

Cam Jordan has the voice of an assistant principle.

    Who is gay.

I read “spit on the pirate flag” as hyperbole and not literally. Oh and not referring to our American flag.

For the record I can’t stand Cam either

This site sometimes sounds like a bunch of middle school girls gossiping about what others say. Just sayin’.

So tired of Cam Jordan’s big mouth.

Jason Licht was right on point on McAfee’s show. A breath of fresh air and he does keep receipts.

I think we can all agree that neither Jordan or Lattimore are going to get invited to any parties hosted by Buc fans. They are two guys you love to hate…just like their former coach Bountygate Payton.

Having said that we shouldn’t let our hate morph into disrespect. Both these guys were “players”…I say “were” for Jordan perhaps Lattimore has a little more left in the tank?

Whatever the Bucs and their fans overlook N.O. at our own peril. This team still has talent, an NFL level QB, coach perhaps is their achilles. The Saints must be just as fired up as the Bucs to hear all the “weak division” crap and the early anointment of Atlanta as the odds on favorites.

I can just hear Kevin Hart: “F you, Cam Jordan!” every 17 seconds.

The thing about the Bucs hating Cam, is that we missed out on Cam, so who should we really hate on
