Latest Tom Brady Rumor: Slimy Saints QB For 2023

December 28th, 2022

Latest rumor.

Given who is passing along the scuttlebutt lends credibility to this strange story.

Over at ProFootballTalk.com, the creator, curator and overall guru, the great Mike Florio, offered up a strong rumor he learned in league circles: former slimy Saints head coach Sean Payton will end his retirement/leave of absence and return to the slimy Saints.

And Tom Brady will join him.

Brady, if you are unaware, is a free agent after this season. So there is a bunch of speculation on where Brady will play next year, if he plays at all. Yesterday while on his weekly appearance heard on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, Brady suggested retirement is on the back burner, if it is even on the stove.

One source with a finger firmly on the pulse of pro football told PFT that it’s currently the “worst-kept secret” in league circles.

It would still be a stunner if it happens. Considering the various potential openings for 2023, it could be the only place where Payton and Brady could finish what nearly happened in Miami for 2022.

Something to keep in mind when reading Florio’s exposé of sorts. Early in 2022, Florio repeatedly said that Brady was going to the 49ers. Then he changed course and said Brady would go to Miami and Payton would join him. Both Brady and Payton are represented by the same agent, Don Yee.

People roundly scoffed at Florio, who stuck to his guns. The laughing and mocking of Florio continued until he was proven absolutely correct and the Dolphins were slapped with tampering charges for trying to lure Payton and Brady to South Florida.

Joe thinks that would absolutely suck to have Payton back in the NFC South, in addition to Brady giving the finger to the Bucs and going to the hated slimy Saints.

With Tua stinking out loud again and having concussion issues, Brady going to Miami with a proven forward-thinking and creative offensive-minded coach, and sick weapons to throw to, should be much more appealing to Brady than the slimy Saints.

  1. Bucs go Bucs Says:

This sort of distracting news ain’t helping Bucs’ chance on upcoming game, crucial one at that, with Panthers.

Remember last year’s divisional round in playoff… during that week, Brady’s retirement rumor out of nowhere swirled around like bad flu bug. And we got destroyed by Rams… sort of…

    Go Bucs.

  2. Leopold Stotch Says:

I think I would be physically sick if that happened. Honestly, if that were to happen, there would literally be nothing in the world to get me to have a positive opinion on the aints and butthole lips. They could single handedly, as an organization bring world peace, and I would still hate them. Literally any other team than the Saints…

  3. RuKa_44 Says:

If Brady does that, it will be a sign that something really absurd is happening behind closed doors within the Bucs organization, sick enough to make Brady want to stick it up the Bucs playing for the Saints

  4. Mike Says:

Why would Brady really want to stay here he’s got the worst head coach in NFL history in Todd Bowles the worst offensive coordinator in history. bowles single-handedly destroyed this team and now running off the best player the bucs have ever had

  5. Wokeizdunn Says:

I’d say just because MIA was tampering doesn’t really mean Brady was ever serious. I get the rules on tampering, but also, how much did Brady actually negotiate…Payton for that matter? Their common agent, Yee, can float all kinds of things out there to keep interest in his clients high. He should. Happens all the time. Agreed, there is no reason to expect Brady would want to go where there are few weapons, and in fact, the Saints have already unloaded a slew of draft picks for next year to PHI. If anywhere, I’d still he goes to SF..and pretty sure he’s done with the Tampa Bay trainwreck of 2022.

  6. Gofortheface30 Says:

The Bucs lose, even when they win. The ultimate middle finger, and egg on the faces of the team and fans. That sick, disgusted, embarrassed feeling you feel deep inside your stomach? Get used to it. He was never our guy. This was the hot broad you dated for a while, but she was kind of a ho that was gnna end up stabbing you in the back and blowing your worst enemy or someone. Can we be a destination city/team instead of a truck stop please? Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber. Those are Bucs. Antonio Brown isn’t. And neither is Brady

  7. BucHead588 Says:

If Brady plays it will be in Tampa JL will do everything he can for him to stay the Oline will be fixed with Jensen back I believe Luke will be a good LG he just needed a year to learn an adjust like Cappa did he will be fine why is it ppl think changing positions as a rookie would be so easy don’t give up on Luke yet he’ll be fine this team is going to be fine Brady knows that

  8. Chris Says:

Well being we need a new HC the Glazers should fire Bowles hire Payton and keep Brady.
    There problem Solved

  9. Demete Says:

The only way Brady plays here is if the Bucs make a coaching change themselves and by that logic maybe Payton coaches the Bucs. Two things, why would Payton leave the Saints and go back and why would he go back to a cap hell situation with a QB that is clearly on the downside of his career without having a QB to develop and take over? Not happening. As a result, I doubt Payton goes to either team, but the least likely scenario is the Saints

  10. mg Says:

Agent Yee is doing his job. Floating rumors will be continuous until signing day.

  11. HC Grover Says:

    Escape from the Bowzo Bunch

  12. DungyDance Says:

Agree with Joe about Miami being more desirable than New Orleans. And a FL football team has that many more home games not subject to state income tax. Automatic pay raise of 5% or so.

  13. Dreday Says:

The glazers are not going to F around. They’re going to do whatever it takes to keep the media buzzing around their team. No Brady with subpar coaching next year will lead to very little national publicity. What better way to hire a top coach in the nfl and bring back the GOAT.

  14. Buc4evr Says:

Don’t care where Brady goes, it is time to move on. The Bucs have reached the point of diminishing returns. The whole team needs to be retooled along with the coaches. No way will the Bucs make it back to the SB with Brady. Sad but true.

  15. Dreday Says:

@buc4evr: I agree with you 100% but just as much as it’s about winning, it’s also about money and sold out stadiums. Getting 5 prime time games every year. You’re almost guaranteed that with the GOAT, plus great coaching. Although I think Bowles will get a second year, I think the glazers are very intrigued at the idea of adding a Sean Payton caliber coach to coach this team.

  16. Fishhawkbuc Says:

He needs to retire before he embarrasses himself.

  17. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Who cares?

  18. TheBucsAnthem Says:

People acting like Brady has been here forever……it’s Patriots fans that should feel sickened everytime Brady sets foot on the field.

I truly hope Brady does leave……cause this team needs to start building this franchise for the future.

Brady came here….accomplished his mission of a SB….PERFECT!!!!

  19. SufferingSince76 Says:

The Saints aren’t any better than the Bucs. Why would he go to that toilet they call a city? All that’s there are hookers and drunks.

  20. Kalind Says:

We’d only have ourselves to blame. For hiring Bowles and leftwich to burn down a great roster and solid team

  21. Richard Dickson Says:

Anywhere Payton goes is going to have to have (and be willing to give up) draft picks to the Saints to get him. Miami and Denver keep getting mentioned as spots for him, but what draft picks do they have to trade?

  22. Hodad Says:

Latest rumor I heard is Drew Cary is stepping down, and Brady is going to start hosting The Price is Right!

  23. Hodad Says:

All kidding aside, I don’t care anymore what Brady does, or who he does it with. This franchise is at a crossroads. The sooner we clean house, and rebuild the better.

  24. JD Says:

If Brady plays another year, it will only be for the Raiders!

  25. Allbuccedup Says:

They are both from San Mateo also.

  26. Erick Says:

He is gone. He didn’t want to be here this year and you can see it in his face every game.

Thank you, for the Super Bowl, Tom, but it’s time to move on.

  27. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Once again…..there’s WAYYYYYYYYYYY too many people in love with the “Brady” mystic……….

I guess everyone forgot about how Brett Farve (John Madden’s favorite player ever!) bounced around from the Jets to the Vikings…..

Farve still was making plays and had a much stronger arm than Brady…..but it’s not like he set the world on fire either……sooooooooooooooooooooo what? You wanna keep on seeing Brady in decline and then you wanna keep on making excuses for decline of play at QB and then BLAME EVERYBODY but Brady himself because you still think he’s the Tom Brady from 5 years ago????

    STOP LIVING IN DENIAL

  28. Anonymous Says:

Florio also said it was done deal that Tom would be a 49er this year. Florio has been wrong, especially when it comes to the Bucs. He has some grudge against BA because he called him out. It’s funny that this story is coming out when Brady just mentioned that some of the media use his name for content and to fill the airwaves, and most of those stories aren’t rooting in any truth.

I’m absolutely sick of these where will Brady play next year. People are just throwing stuff at a wall and folks will just take it as truth. There’s is no critical thinking involved when choosing to evaluate the credibility of a story. There is ZERO chance Brady plays for the Saints. It’s such a silly.

  29. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    TheBucsAnthem Says:
“I truly hope Brady does leave……cause this team needs to start building this franchise for the future.”

I get your point. I would only caution that rebuilding Tampa could take years…and if we can get more time with Brady, more good stuff is possible sooner.

Not to mention that another good vet could become available.

Of course, I fully expect him to retire after this year.

  30. SB~LV Says:

He ain’t coming back to Tampa
    We owe him NOTHING
He quit on the team last off season and was headed to the Dolphins
    Hence this funk of dysfunction
    From Dynasty to Dysfunction

  31. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m getting way tired of the Brady speculation……I realize its a story…..but it is getting ridiculous.

  32. Bucsfan13 Says:

Florio also said Brady would be a 49er this year. Florio had been wrong. Let’s not act like this guy is infallible. Please use your common sense. What happened to critical thinking skills. People can say and write anything and some people will automatically take it as a fact. There is ZERO chance Brady plays for the Saints. Think people! Tom has no love for the Saints. He has no interest in following in Brees’ shoes. You also think Tom wants to move to Louisiana? The whole idea of Brady playing in NO is prosperous. Saints’ fans loathe Brady. Why would he want to play for a franchise with those fans? Brady just commented on his podcast on Monday that some of media isn’t interested in the truth. It’s about filling in airwaves and providing content for the media. Brady has been a damn goldmine for media outlets. They know his name brings clicks.

The thing that always works in the media’s favor is that Tom rarely responds to any news reports about him. He just fundamentally doesn’t believe exerting any energy responding to every report. You could see how he was agitated when he was asked about him allegedly tweaking the offense the night before and not telling the coaches. He scoffed when asked the question. If the question wasn’t asked, Brady would have never said anything about the report. He also didn’t respond to reports about BA’s alleged red pen or about him demanding that BA step down. He didn’t respond to all the rumors about his marital issues. The only statement he gave was when the divorce was officially announced. He values his privacy over speculation.

  33. Nick Says:

Except the Saints are in salary cap hell worse than the Bucs.

  34. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ SB~LV

He didn’t quit on his team…….he have Tampa Bay everything he got and we as Bucs fans should be grateful for that.

You act like people can’t look out for themselves???? Just because he’s the GOAT doesn’t mean crap if there’s something better out there he wants to do.

Be grateful and than Thank Tom Brady for gracing us Bucs fans for bringing a SB to Tampa again.

  35. Bucsfan13 Says:

@BucsAnthem. He’s not the Brady from five years ago? Hello, did you completely sleep walk through his MVP level play from LAST year when he threw for over 5,000 yards or how he threw for over 4,000 yards and 40 TDs TWO years ago. Are you even a Bucs fan? To say Brady hasn’t been good in five years is crazy, even for the most crazy people who suffer from BRADY DERANGEMENT SYNDROME

  36. Razor Ramone Says:

Speculation, nobody “knows” anything. Lots of Great Carnaks out there.

  37. Todd Says:

WHEN we win the Superbowl again this year, nobody gets fired and Tommy gets a monster deal to get 10 rings on his two outstretched hands.

  38. SB~LV Says:

    Bucs Anthem
    Each season is starting over
Of course thanks for the 2020 Super Bowl
No thanks for sniffing around ( BTW I was posting that tid bit months before the story broke, old 305 connection)
He was not planning on playing for the Bucs this year until the owner of the Dolphins got his fist caught in the messing around jar.
Brady only came back after getting caught cheating on the Bucs
We owe him nothing more than any other player in 2022

  39. Todd Says:

    I can’t believe I just write that! 🤥

  40. darengibo Says:

Licht should be negoriating with Bill O’Brien about being our next HC in 2023… Bowles? Always a good DC, but can you really be “demoted” back to that position with the same team? Not sure.

I know the league has changed to being MUCH more offensive… BA built up what Koetter started and now Bowles decides to make it 1999 again.

Oh well… being a Buc fan since ’77, this 3 year run has been awesome and whatever happens, Tampa got that super howl the year my dad died, and our entire family rallied around that as a healing component.. for that, I will be forever grateful.

  41. Buddha Says:

So called “fans” are way too negative on this team and this coaching staff. Even with all the terrible injury luck on the offensive line and defensive line and the obvious decline in Brady’s arm strength, this is is a top ten and quite you defense overall, and one only lacking another good tight end. The Buccaneers are not going to fire Bowles, given they never gave him an opportunity to hire his own coaching staff. Bowles will appoint a new offensive coordinator, a new special team coordinator, and a new training staff. Our two all pro out for the year players will return, and either Brady will return or there will be a new veteran under center. Also it is quite possible Gronk will come back. No total rebuild is necessary. The glass is half full.

  42. SB~LV Says:

    Bhudda
Lol… ain’t happening but I love your fan passion!
The sloth like GBoyz will not fire Bowles this year ( should have happened weeks ago)
and make us suffer another year with Bowles

  43. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ SB~LV

LOL………dude, you’re acting like Tom Brady cannot look for another job with better opportunities??? This is no different than if a normal person would look for another job while he currently is working at his present job…….Tom Brady has every right to do so.

The Bucs organization owes Brady nothing……but the Glazers are 100% grateful that Brady brought another Superbowl to the Tampa Bay area….they are!!!!

I’m not sure why you are so fixed on pointing out that he was looking to play somewhere else in the NFL as if NO players ever look to do this…..this is normal…..not abnormal.

  44. NEfan Says:

SB-LV, blame the true QUITTER on this team is BA. He caused this whole debacle. Honor the man that single handedly sent the Bucs franchise spirling back to the cesspool it came from. This horrid coaching staff have dismantled many records Brady has kept for decades. To the real Bucs fans that supported their QB through thick & thin I feel bad for you if he goes to NO. I can only imagine what he can do with Kamara if Lenny can go for 162 yds. Don’t be surprised if Gronk comes out of the woodwork.

SB-LV, ttsucs, oralsuc, zzsuc, lamucus, beanblo, TheBucsanal, Chiapet and most of all Oneilsuckyall and the rest of you haters I missed, this needs to happen so I can share my joy with all of you next season.

I feel bad for Joe you are a great supporter. We may get to see what many have wished for, Trask, a 3rd string QB leading the Bucs to their next SB. Laughable. I wonder what other talent Brady would solicit to go to the Saints?

  45. Bucobill999 Says:

Good let em go suck for them he aint getting better thats for sure

  46. SB~LV Says:

    Anthem & NE
Brady was sniffing around while playing for the Bucs during the 2021 season
Sgt Friday …” just the facts “

SB-LV, blame the true QUITTER on this team is BA”
    ————————————————————

    Really? You actually went there???????

If you wanna blame someone…..blame the Glazers and Jason Licht for approving of this…..Bruce Arians couldn’t tie his shoelaces at One Buc without their permissions.

Don’t blame BA…….cause we all know for a FACT that BA would never run an offense or run a team like Todd Bowles.

  48. NEfan Says:

Anthem@ Explain to me WHY BA retired so late? Could it be to keep other more qualified coaches like PETERSON from interviewing? How is that OFFENSIVE mind coach doing? I’m pretty sure the Jags don’t have the talent Bucs do.

  49. kyle Says:

Brady is a hired gun. Its time to think about the future..I know people think im an idiot but i would trade for zach wilson. The jets dont want him and he could be a great development project?

The kid was drafted 2nd overall for a reason? Hes raw, he played basically 1 year of college and then got thrown into the NY mixer, he wasnt ready.

Idk throw a low end pick to the jets? idk, jmo

  50. NEfan Says:

BA had two motives, to get his main man a HC job while securing the rest of his misfit toys jobs and to prove he is ahead of the curve when it comes to the representation of diversity in the NFL. He FAILED at both.

  51. Duane Says:

We got the 3 years out of the Goat that we were looking for. With a salary cap, and attrition, its a crap shoot to win a championship, and we likely had the best of luck in managing that during the SB run. Not sure why any franchise would want a 46 year old qb that has performed quite pedestrian at best, but to each his or her own. Payton thought he was slick this season by bailing on his franchise. The joke is on him because maybe he could have put the Saints in a better position to win the division this season (which would have been a coup), to add to his legend. GO GET LAMAR JACKSON, and lets put this chapter behind us.

  52. NEfan Says:

Kyle, good one, grab Wilson the turnover machine. Didn’t the Bucs already have that guy. He has single handedly the reason the Jets are struggling to get into the playoffs. I have also heard he is not well liked in the locker room. The question remains, why wasn’t he the captain in college? You would be better off with Minshew.

  53. NEfan Says:

Duane, go back and see how many full seasons Jackson has played and what has he won? One thing for sure ME13’s streak would end with him at QB.

  54. Marine Buc Says:

If Tom Brady leaves he will totally screw our salary cap. The Bucs will have to pay TB12 $35 million dollars of DEAD CAP SPACE unless he plays for Tampa next season.

    A. Hicks, J. Jones and LVD will also be owed @ $17 Million combined.

That is over $50 million in DEAD CAP SPACE to 4 former players.

IF the Bucs want to be at all competitive next season all four of these players might have to come back for one more season…

Like it or not – this is what happens when you add 2 void years to large contracts. At some point you need to pay the piper.

  55. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    ——————————————————————————

I honestly don’t think BA wanted to retire…..he stepped aside as soon as Brady said he wanted to come back to the BUCS and that’s why the Glazers and Jason Licht offered him that sweetheart deal of being an advisor to the team. No ex Bucs HC has ever been offered something like this before….so why now???? My explanation proves this point exactly.

No one could’ve predicted Jensen and Wirfs and all these injuries to the O-Line.

…..and I think BA is probably shocked how things are being ran too by Bowles and Leftwich……….

  56. kyle Says:

NE bucfan^^ yeah just offering suggestions.. its gonna be bad when this thing breaks down. salary cap hell, old roster.. Kyle Trask???? uggh

  57. mg Says:

The cannabis dispensaries must love you, Kyle.

  58. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ kyle

I honestly don’t think Kyle Trask will ever be a starter in the NFL. If a 2nd rounder drafted QB cannot even beat out a journeyman QB for the backup role to the starter…………..then that’s all you need to know about him.

What’s hillarious about Trask…..is that his arm strength is worse than Tom Brady in his prime…………that’s pretty awful right there!!!!!!

  59. kyle Says:

bucsanthem^^ yeah.. sucks.. they have to figure something out? cant afford a free agent, even if brady leaves i think he still counts 30 million on the slary cap next year? they have to get a young guy to develop or a baker mayfield type on the cheap. its gonna suck for a few years… we bought a superbowl and it was the right thing to do!!

  60. D-Rok Says:

    @Marine,

Yes to our cap hell, but as Joe pointed out this week, each team will gain roughly $78mill in extra cap due to the Google / YouTube deal.

So, are we in cap hell if we get an extra 78mill for 2023? No, we aren’t, not yet – we can still kick the can down the road another year or two, and be competitive in 2023. Just something to consider.

  61. NEfan Says:

Anthem, my original belief was like many Brady’s contingency for returning was BA leaving. I no longer believe that. I do believe BA left and promoted Bowles when he heard Brady was returning in hopes to set him up with a winning team. As ugly as it is they are still leading the south. I also believe the 11 days was Brady deciding if he wanted to play for Bowles. Reality set in, play for Bowles or don’t play. We are witnessing the results. Make no mistake though BA tied Lichts & Glazers hands and force fed his guys down their throat. He most likely sold it as why fix something that’s not broken, he often claimed he did nothing and said his coaches and players know what to do. Clearly at least on offense that wasn’t true.

  62. kyle Says:

my thought on zach wilson is that he is only 22?? im not sure he had time to develop? we arent qb coaches? why wouldnt you take a flier and see if he develops? what other options are there?? haha

  63. kyle Says:

baker mayfield, matt ryan, kyle trask, blaine gabbert, tannehill, jimmy G, yuck

  64. kyle Says:

also, wilsons mom is a MILF!!!

  65. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ kyle

Zach Wilson is a bust……….I’d take flyer on him as a free agent signing…..but I’d never send anything like trades or picks for him…..no way.

  66. View from 132 Says:

That’d be excellent… that criminal Payton and his bounty hunters and Old Tom. What a perfect rival. Don’t look now, but we have the roster (with a healthier line) to beat that “dream team” next year.

  67. JimmyfromNY Says:

Bucsanthem? What are you talking about five years ago he was the best player in football in 20-21. He won the Super Bowl the first year on a historic run in the postseason and last year. He was the best player by all metrics. Has his game slip this year 100% but you think it has anything to do with whats around him? The team is in shambles and you’re asking a guy 45 to elevate you. Your Bucs fan wanting d him are the lowest of the low. You deserve the next two decades of futility that’s coming.

  68. Marine Buc Says:

    @ D-Rok

True. However – all current estimates show the cap increasing but not by $80M.

If that happens it would certainly help our situation if Brady does decide to retire or leave…

  69. adam from ny Says:

this is the worst thing that can happen actually…the move is simply not acceptable – tommy b to the enemy in the division…it’s whore type sh!t…

if that can happen…why can’t we just plop BA back in the top spot as well, and demote bowles to where he really belongs – as DC

    just sayin’

  70. adam from ny Says:

so dennis whatever his name is will take a demotion like a b*itch back to DC, peyton will be HC, and tommy b will be the slut at QB and thus the bucs #1 enemy…

    ???

    sounds far fetched

  71. Jmarkbuc Says:

It was an honor and a privilege to have TB12 here and win a SB no less.

I think I’m with Hodad though, time to bite the bullet rather than kicking the 46 year old can.

  72. Marine Buc Says:

    @ D-Rok

Also keep in mind – with an increased salary cap figure will come increased prices for quality players…

Look at what teams are paying for a quality starting QB – $45-$50M per season.

Not long ago it was @ $30M…

  73. adam from ny Says:

    come on…….

no matter how i try to wrap my head around this, it sounds like a bs take from someone along the way…

if this is true and can happen then the nfl is just a soap opera and a joke…

this would consist of multiple moves by multiple people of zero integrity

  74. Dick LeBeau Jr. Says:

So you really think he’d mess over Tampa and sign with the enemy basically? Yeah, I don’t think Brady would do that. Leave and move to a division rival sounds like something a butthole would do, and I don’t get those vibes from Brady. And from past post talking about his relationship with the Glazers. You got to make it make sense and right now, it doesn’t.

  75. Duane Says:

NEfan- Since we are all speculating, I think BA had to step down for health reasons, which likely put this team in a bad spot. I think its just spin that he stepped down so Bowles could get a HC job. Lamar did win an MVP, and is almost 2 decades younger than TB12. Players get injured. I think we will likely find out our QB is injured. If you knew anything about this team pre Brady, you would know and understand that Mike Evans posted consecutive 1000 yard seasons Regardless of who that QB was. I get that Brady is your hero, but all careers come to an end. Let it go. Maybe he returns to play for Hoodie. A decade from now, only a handful of Buc fans will remember the debacle that is this current coaching staff, while the rest of the world recalls it as the Goat’s last disappointing stand.

  76. Anonymous Says:

Makes total sense to me. He would get to have a real NFL coaching staff and still remain in the ultra weak NFC South. BUCS suck because of no credible coaching. Easy decision.

  77. Tye Says:

So in the end, Sean Payton just needed a year off?… a break from coaching?…

    I don’t buy into that….
Has actions surely was more to the actions of a man done with the Saints…
A man wanting/needing a fresh start with a new team, cap space and roster..
A man not concern with fan base turning on him because he turned his back on them… WHY would the players even want to play for a coach that abandoned them for a rough season…..

If it were to happen, chances are much greater IT WON’T WORK!

  78. Marine Buc Says:

    @ Duane

I agree. BA has heart problems. He stepped down in Arizona for the same reason.

Plus – BA was rushed to the hospital a few months back after having extreme heart pains.

Seems pretty obvious to me why BA had to retire.

    —————————————————————-

EXACTLY…………..this is how I feel. I dunno why Bucs Fans can’t look at it this way.

I really think the failure on this Franchise’s fault was not looking ahead 3 years ago and not getting Franchise Type QB….. Yeah, we had Jameis Winston, but we all knew after BA couldn’t fix Jameis, then we should’ve drafted someone or even traded for a starting QB……..not some 2nd rounder project in the name of Kyle Trask.

  80. NEfan Says:

Duane, there is no doubt Brady cannot continue to play in this offense. Unlike your previous QB’s, Brady doesn’t rely on one receiver and if he did he prefers the Godwin style of play. Chasing Lamar is a 55 to 60MM toy. He is already snake bit with knee issues and is far from an elite passer. If you said Hebert, I would 100% agree. Though Lamar does fit a Bowles type offense but he will most likely be out of the league in 3 to 5 years due to injury. I guess this will give all those QB haters another reason to b#tch.

  81. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Anthem

The list of needs for this team goes far past QB.

    Starting with GM.

It’s time to blow it up.

  82. Cobraboy Says:

If the Bucs retain Bowles, I couldn’t care less where Brady goes. I would be flat indifferent to All Things Bucs. I would pay scant attention, for the first time ever, to the Bucs.

The opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is indifference.
    …………………..
IMO, Saint’s strength is the defense, even when Brees was there. If Payton returns, Allen won’t, and Allen was a massive piece of Saint’s success.

  83. Marine Buc Says:

    @ Cobra

My bet is Sean Payton will be heading to the Denver Broncos…

The owner just stated that the new Head Coach will run all football operations.

Sounds like the type of situation Coach Payton is looking for.

Only issue I see is the Broncos will have to trade New Orleans for SP and they don’t have a ton of picks left after trading for QB Wilson.

I’m curious to know what the Saints will be asking for as compensation for SP’s release.

  84. Duane Says:

The beauty of ME13s game is that they dont rely on him to catch passes. He is the most overutilized decoy for double teams in the league. Naturally, a savvy player like Godwin benefits from this. In spite of him being a decoy, and not the preferred receiver, he still racks up decent production during a season. 50-60 million is the going rate for a franchise QB, and you pay it if you get the opportunity, or you relegate yourself to playing the lottery for one. Lamar does fit the coaching style to a T, and I think his passing ability has upside as his current team goes out of their way to feature the run. Herbert, Allen, and Burrow have all had injury issues as well- its part of the game. The other aspect is that Lamar is the only one mentioned that has a chance of parting from his franchise. He would also immediately be the best qb in the division.

  85. Tom Sumner Says:

    Click Bait ……lol

  86. Bucschamp Says:

    Payton > toilet bowles

  87. BOAT Says:

If the Bucs’ management keeps Todd Bowles as their head coach next season, then Tom Brady will be with a different team next season.

On the other hand, if the Bucs’ management haven’t completely totally lost their damn minds, and they fire Bowles, and hire a competent head coach as a replacement (one that doesn’t believe in handcuffing the offense), then Tom Brady will be with the Bucs again next season.

It’s really that simple. The question is though, does Bucs’ management have the two brain cells necessary to grasp that Bowles is a disaster head coach? So far it looks like they don’t have those two brain cells.

Idk throw a low end pick to the jets? idk, jmo

I sincerely hope that this is satire / sarcasm………….

  89. NEfan Says:

Anthem, yes if you build a team around Lamars strengths! Who his go to receiver? Andrew’s correct? What that tells you is he is not a downfield passer, neither was Brady except the Moss years, even then Welker had career years. Lamar requires a FB at times and a good oline. I doubt Lamar goes to Tampa anyway but he could end up in Carolina.

  90. Cobraboy Says:

@Marine: Maybe Wilson for SP? Does SP want to coach Wilson who has seriously declining skilz? And is massively expensive?
    ……………..
I hope Bowles & Vrabel gets fired quickly, then the Glazers hire Vrabel.

  91. Ryan Says:

So as much as Florio was right about Miami, he was just as equally wrong with SF.

And if it’s the worst kept secret in the league, why is it just not leaking out?

  93. orlbucfan Says:

Methuselah 0 won’t be here next season. Thank god!!!!!! That means a lot of for-real Bucs fans will be back. The M0 groupies, trolls, and bots will be gone. I sure as h3ll won’t miss them. I just hope the Glazer Boyz don’t get rid of Bowles, too. BL, whatever. Youtube buying into the NFL loosens the $$cap. I want to see LVD, ME13, and WillG retire as Bucs. They have much-deserved SB rings. Bucs will win this weekend, and they’ll carry the old relic on their shoulders. They are a better team overall than Carolina. It should be a very good, competitive no-stupid-ref calls game. Go Mighty Bucs!!

  94. Marine Buc Says:

    @ Cobra

I can’t believe how far and fast Wilson has declined… I doubt the Saints would want to take on that contract the Broncos gave him. Yikes.

SP was able to work wonders with a weak armed and aging Drew Breeze. Perhaps he could work the same magic with Wilson because it seems that Denver is stuck with him for now – way too much guaranteed money in Wilson’s contract.

I don’t really mind the Patriots posters at all. However, all of the fake Bucs fans, with all of their “start Trask and bench the old relic” troll posts – those are downright embarrassing for this site.

  96. Bucamania Says:

Makes sense. Wouldn’t you rather play for Sean Payton than Todd freakin’ Bowles and his dinosaur mentality?

  97. NEfan Says:

Much appreciated Boat@. Bucs1987 who gives a flying crap what you think? You have little to no input on anything anyway.

  98. BelleGladeBuc Says:

I think that it would be a huge mistake to start Trask or Gabbert over TB12.

You play the game to win, and TB12 is the QB that gives them the best chance to win.

I’m just concerned with the play calls.

In the past 3 games TB12 has thrown the ball 147 times.

Of those throws, according to Next Gen Stats, 115 of those pass attempts were for a distance of 10 yards or less.

That averages out that for every 10 passes that TB12 throws that about 8 of those passes will be no longer than 10 yards.

Other teams defenses study their opponents stats and tendencies and game plan for them.

The Bucs passing offense is predictable.

    That’s a problem.

  99. BelleGladeBuc Says:

Couple the fact that the Bucs pass plays are predictable to 10 yards or less according to NFL Next Gen Stats with the fact that defenses are only rushing 4 and dropping 7 against the Bucs and now you can see why the offense is struggling.

The problem of the Bucs offense is much bigger than TB12, and he’s the least of its problems.

The biggest are OC and Head Coach.

  100. NEfan Says:

Belle, what isn’t predictable in this offense?

  101. Simeon97 Says:

i just don’t see him bailing on his teammates to go directly to a divisional rival.

  102. BelleGladeBuc Says:

    @NEfan

If I told you that you would face a team who for 80% of their passing plays would throw the ball no greater than 10 yards how easy would your life as a former LB on defense be?

Couple that with the fact that you’d be facing one of the worst running attacks in the history of the NFL, how easy would your life as a defensive player be?

That’s the reality of the Bucs 2022 offense.

  103. bob Says:

Carr just got benched……the door is opened for TB12 next year…..and Gronk in LV when the season is over brady is a Raider….from one pirate to another

  104. LastDance Says:

    Belle

You are dead right on that. Its hard to be great when you aren’t given a chance by the coaches. Nearly impossible.

Bob! holy crap! yes, now that is evidence that LV may be in play… and with Gonk as a Raider! Pirates be Pirating!

  105. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Brady is out for Brady, and had a date with Sean Peyton in Miami.
Now it looks like the date moved to NOLA.
Of course, I do not want Brady to join the Saints, but it would not surprise me.

  106. NEfan Says:

Belle, let me put it this way, I wouldn’t be bored in the 4th qtr. You forgot I know the opponent is running on 1st down 70% of the snaps.

  107. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    SB~LV Says
“The sloth like GBoyz will not fire Bowles this year ( should have happened weeks ago) and make us suffer another year with Bowles”

Goes to show how little you know. Glazers do not fire coaches during seasons.

  108. Crickett Baker Says:

IMO Florio is only a genius when it comes to clicks. I’ve seen him do it many times. He makes up a story and says it was given to him by some anonymous source that is close to the Bucs. He delivers his crap very professionally and assuredly. He makes you believe it (remember he is a lawyer?) and stands by his made-up words with confidence. He knows nothing except how to manipulate clicks. He delivers his messages deadpanned but sometimes he has a certain smirk that is indicative of the full-blown belly laugh he exhibits when the cameras are off of him. He is a deadpanning clown. None of you have any idea what Brady is going to do and neither do I, but I feel one thing. Brady is the best QB we could have this year or next.

  109. Bucs Orlando Says:

If Tom moves out of Florida and away from his kids after a divorce…..

Man that would be pretty wild.

  110. Ben Harvey Says:

Could he honestly turn his back on this franchise and sign with the enemy. God that would make me completely sick and would hate Brady for it. I was never a Brady fan before Tampa, but gotta love our QB.

  111. NEfan Says:

Ben, if you weren’t happy at your job would you stay there? If a better opportunity opened up across the street would you entertain it?
