Buccaneers 21, Seahawks 16

November 13th, 2022

Huge day for Rachaad White!

What a beatdown “W” by the Bucs. Domination like the good ol’ days. The running game returned and, whaddya know, so did the play-action attack.

And the defense looked like it did early in the season: downright smothering.

Joe could see the Bucs’ swagger return. And rookie running back Rachaad White’s 29-yard run that finished with a right hook to the head of Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs was a defining moment that showed off that confidence.

White got the start today because the Bucs’ brass was frustrated by the effort of Leonard Fournette, as JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman told you a few days ago. White finished with 22 rushes for 105 yards. And Fournette was right there with him at 14 rushes for 57 yards and a touchdown before leaving with a hip injury. Ke’Shawn Vaughn replaced Fournette and had a nice first-down run after a catch in the fourth quarter.

Julio Jones had a huge 31-yard touchdown catch early that seemed to help keep the Seattle defense honest. Congrats to Chris Godwin for his first TD grab of the season.

Joe is not barking about the late Seattle rally. The Seahawks made special plays on offense. On their final touchdown, Geno Smith scrambled to his left and threw a touch pass to the back of the end zone that needed a diving grab to haul in.

As for Tom Brady’s second interception of the season, it had to happen at some point. But don’t get Joe started on the decision to have Fournette throw Brady a pass. Brady finished 22-of-29 for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Hats off to Devin White for having a Defensive Player of the Week type showing with two sacks, 1 forced fumble, 8 solo tackles and 1 tackle for loss.

Damn, the Bucs are good again!

This win felt like we have a REAL TEAM again. Much love to the German fans! They were incredible. Better than if we played at home in front of a bunch of deadbeats

  2. Yucs2Bucs Says:

White said he was going to take Lens job !! Finally

  3. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    I’m happily eating crow.

  4. geno711 Says:

    Right on Joe.

  5. Dirty Bucs Says:

If Tampa can play like this the rest of the year, they have a chance to be really competitive in the playoffs.

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Over 3 million ticket requests and the German fans brought it to that stadium.

  7. Leighroy Says:

Pleased to see the White brothers step up to the occasion today!

  8. Leopold Stotch Says:

I’ll eat that crow all day man! So happy for the dub. Let’s goooooo! Get right after the bye and let’s take it home! BUILD OFF THIS!

  9. Richard Dickson Says:

Honestly, I can’t blame the defense on that final Seattle drive — got pressure, had coverage, but who in the world expects Geno Smith to pull off those two fourth down throws?

  10. Bucanero Says:

Game ball isn’t going to Camarda this week!

  11. Casual Observer Says:

Fine game. Hope for the season!

  12. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Vlads good friend, the commenter Howard Cosell, said very early in the preseason that RW29 would be Bradys new bff. Howard was right as were the other RW29 fans.

LEfty tried to lose the game but Brady and White and CG14 wouldn’t allow it

  13. JimmyfromNY Says:

First of all white is now they’re featured running back he’s a difference maker, bring Jensen back in the teams in the NFC championship game at a minimum

  14. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Nice win.
Can we all agree Bunting sucks?

  15. Pewter Power Says:

Would have been a shut out except smb gave up both touchdowns

  16. BucsBro Says:

Been saying Rachaad is the guy for some time, and it was prophetic today.

He can find holes that Lenny can’t find.

Early in the last drive he hit a hole that there is no way Lenny could fit through.

The coaches have figured it out. Finally.

The offense is now starting to come around, with White, Otton and Miller (and Julio) back in the fold.

Things should improve going forward, even though we will miss Shaq on defense as we progress.

  17. Joseph C Simmons Says:

I hope our ability to run the ball was not a fluke, as the ‘Hawks came in with a weak rushing defense. Otherwise, this game really looks like the kind of game that turns our season around.

If we can continue to be balanced on offense, and STOP THE RUN on defense, we’ll make some noise in the playoffs this year!

  18. ModHairKen Says:

Get rested. The season begins in two weeks.

  19. JimmyJack Says:

What a fun beatdown!! Looked like a different team out there today. Dominated upfront both sides of ball. Percent Redzone.

We look like a team thats about to start peaking. Im snuffing a long winning streak!!!!!!

    Woooo GOOOOOOO BUCS!!!

  20. Vlad The Impaler Says:

The Lenny QB Brady WR is the dumbest thing that Vlad has ever seen. Vlad suspects that it was Leftys idea

  21. ricky Says:

It nice to see a football game with people that actually knows how to cheer and how to be fans.

  22. TheShaz Says:

Seattle is a good team and we dominated for the majority of the game. Seattle’s offense woke up after the half but the defense held the fury but the difference was the running game.

Let’s all hope they get the mid season tweaks figured out during the bye week and hit the last half of the season hard.

  23. Buc king Says:

Great game…kinda disappointed in defense play call the 2nd half..
    Run game is alive again..
Really wanted Brady to break Rodgers record.
Well we’re 5-5 on are way to a bye week to fix n tool the offense more.
Hopefully we get gage n fournette back n few other players.

  24. Rod Munch Says:

Should have been 41-9, except Bowles, like a coward, went to prevent/soft zone defense and let them back in the game, while Leftwich makes stupid calls like using the RB as a QB.

The win is great, but this should have been a blowout.

That’s the difference between Bowles/Leftwich and Arians. Arians went for the kill, ran up the score, Bowles/Leftwich think it’s 1999 and you win games 17-14.

  25. JimmyJack Says:

My favorite part of game was our 1st long rushing play of season.

  26. B Says:

Rachaad White is getting me pumped. Wonder if he is durable enough.

  27. Buc1987 Says:

    Bucs Win!!

  28. MerryPlankster777 Says:

Spent my time on the line with FuBo trying to watch this.
Why are the coaches risking Brady’s life as a WR? That is insane. Looked like his ankle too some stress as well.

  29. Onetrickpony Says:

I just put some salt on that Crow I ate so glad for the win

  30. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

White flat took over this game, and broke Seattle’s back.
IMHO, he needs to be our featured running back.
That stiff arm he put on the Seattle defender was awesome!
He flat threw him to the ground with one arm.
This is now 3 wins in a row, and we are finally on a roll!
    Go Bucs!

  31. DungyDance Says:

Greg Rosenthal’s “write this down” segment had Seattle winning. Ha!!!!!

  32. GumboIsForWinners Says:

Vlad, if you run that play run it towards Brady’s side. The CB will 100% bite up. If the safety does to then throw. Run it other way Fournette can’t read a defense from 100 miles away across the field.

  33. Rod Munch Says:

    WHITE – 9 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 TFL.

    Great day.

And they only blitzed him a few times.

Just think if Bowles wasn’t an idiot and blitzed him almost all the time instead of having him stand around in a soft prevent defense zone for the entire 2nd half.

    ————————–
Really? BL threw the interception. Brady can change calls, you know.

  35. ChiBuc Says:

As much blame as the OL has shouldered on this site, they deserve a nod for their play today. Tom had time, holes were created, and Brady only got dirty from that fall when he went out for a pass

  36. Deeez NATZ Says:

What a freaking win!!! John Denver is my new favorite song.Raise a beer boys ,this one is saweeeet!!!

  37. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Glad the Joes & Ira were wrong on their pick of the Seahawks…

White & White win the game

  38. SOGGY Says:

the defender who made the interception almost came down on bradys lower leg, could have been the end right there, i think we got really lucky on that one

  39. dbbuc711 Says:

What really impressed me was the discipline and smarts of Rashaad White to slide on the ending run so they could runout the clock rather than to keep running for a TD

  40. BradentuckeyBuc Says:

    Game Ball >>>>>>> OLINE!

  41. Deeez NATZ Says:

I second apple roof..Rashad SMOKED THEM.He would of had a td at the end.great Game all around

  42. Dooley Says:

You’re a gamer chair OC-DC at best. Just think, if you actually knew what you were talking about in comparison to what everybody is seeing and just spewing the obvious peppered with hyperbole, just think lol

  43. FairMinded Says:

Taaaaaake me HOOOOMMEEE Country roooooad! Awesome. We need to sing this at home games and keep the magic going

  44. gotbbucs Says:

The offense just feels different when there’s an actual feature back carrying the ball.

  45. Rod Munch Says:

orlbucfan – I was literally referring to the RB throwing an idiot you moron. Learn to read, then get back to me. Better yet, drink some antifreeze fluid.

He still had a great game but so glad we didn’t need him so much this week.

  48. Devinwhiteshorse2 Says:

IMHO JTS had a good game as well

  49. herbiebuc Says:

i need both joes and IRA to eat crow all 3 of yall picked against us

  50. Rod Munch Says:

I love how all the people here talking about R White should now be the starter, they’re the same dopes demanding we cut him after he fumbled the ball to start the KC game.

I was saying, just chill out, he’s a really good player, you keep giving him shots, he’s a really good player, and these same dopes, who will flip on any player after a single good or bad PLAY, not just game, but PLAY, those dopes now demand he’s the starter. Then, if he fumbles, they’ll all say he stinks, he’s got to go, how do you take the ball out of a vets hands, Fournette never should have lost the job.

    Just watch.

  51. Dreambig Says:

Like Bonzi, I am happily eating crow! Rod munch is not wrong about the prevent to open the half, but today is the day to celebrate the team win!
    Go Bucs!

  52. Defense Rules Says:

What a glorious win! Bucs running game finally reappeared & our defense did their thing, limiting Seahawks to only 15 points. Bucs gameplan looked to be almost a duplicate of what we did against Dallas … we ran the ball 44 times for 162 yards & 1 TD in this game, and Brady was 22-for-29 passing for 258 yards & 2 TDs. OLine gave up no sacks & opened some very nice holes for White & Fournette. (Run-pass percentage was an astonishing 60% and we didn’t give up on it prematurely).

Defense scared me a little bit when they gave up those 2 TDs in the 2nd half, but they held strong when they needed to. I’m sure it helped that the Bucs’ offense controlled the ball for 37 minutes (74 plays), but our D limited the Seahawks to only 50 plays in their 23 minutes TOP. Some great COMPLEMENTARY FOOTBALL all the way around & a much-needed victory.

  53. Dano Says:

I really like this kid White!

  54. MadMax Says:

Had to watch the score on my phone from work. Well, maybe we’re going to turn it around…remains to be seen

  55. RachaadWhite>Fournette Says:

Game balls to Rachaad White and Nick Leverett . White is superior rb and true threat for explosive plays , I’ve been wanting him to play for weeks if you watch the difference in running its not even close. Lenny doesn’t have any moves . Other game ball Leverett played out of his mind , I think it was crossed to Mike Evans blitz up the middle levrett had both arms extended blocking two players to give Brady time to get out of there . Know why they didn’t send Goedeke to Germany 🇩🇪

  56. Jaybuc Says:

leftwich still needs to go! Trick plays are for teams who are inferior to the opponent. Yes Brady would have been open on the first direct snap. But they came back to it when they were easily moving the ball. Then we got a ballon through by RB. WTF. I’ll give credit to Leftwich for one good call. The fake screen to Julio and both Godwin and Evens open. Teams know Tampa has just been making quick throw. Ravens defense two games ago knew pretty much every play call. props to line and the run game for a change. Props to roookie rub for sliding on last play to stay in bounce and protecting the ball!

  57. RachaadWhite>Fournette Says:

Reference Germany singing John Denver , RayJ all they play is moneybag yo , lil baby, and Devin Whites song . Get some better tunes and maybe crowd will sing

  58. Rod Munch Says:

Dreambig – I am happy we won, but I’m also realistic, that if we play this garbage prevent / soft zone coarsely defense against a good QB, they’re going to kill us.

We should have destroyed the Seahawks, instead, the incompetent coaching, made it a game.

So, sure, we won, but they got a long way to go to be a SB-level team. And it’s all on the coaching. Arians would have blown out the Seahawks, demanded the team play aggressive until it was put away. Bowles/Leftwich think you win games 13-12, like they have the 2002 Bucs defense.

  59. IrishTony Says:

What I noticed was that the I Line opened up nice holes and White had good vision and doesn’t hesitate (stutter step) like Lenny at times. I have a good feeling about this White kid! It’s been a while since this franchise has hit on an rb.

  60. Buc king Says:

    Oline look great

  61. RachaadWhite>Fournette Says:

Why are my comments not posting 😭

  62. IrishTony Says:

Hey so sick of naysayer fans. Bet you weren’t around in the damn 80s/early 90s watching a sh*t show. Jeez. This team is capable of beating anyone if they play consistent on both sides of the ball.

  63. Jackson Says:

    VERY NICE!!!

GREAT DAY for Brady, Julio, R-White, Godwin, Cade, Lenny and the D. Just some outstanding plays. That TD pass to Julio was a carbon copy of that TD to Perriman in the game against the Bills last year. Great seeing history repeat itself!!!

And would have easily been 28-16 but for that wild, crazy attempted pass to Brady. LOVE that they tried it, but they just botched the execution.

Win got a winning streak going now, so hope the BUCS can keep it up!!!

  64. Duane Says:

Was great to see the running game going, and the passing game clicking. This team is special when they get that rolling. Really good team effort. Kind of a headscratcher as to why they havent been able to get it going this season. Maybe a veteran team takes a while to get going. Good time to start playing better football. Solid victory.

  65. unbelievable Says:

Got a little close at the end, but it was a great win against a quality opponent.

If Byron takes back 4 or 5 stupid calls, we probably win 28 – 10 instead, but oh well.

    LFG!

  66. Rod Munch Says:

unbelievable – If Arians is the coach, it’s 42-9.

    Good Coaching Matters.

    GCM t-shirts coming soon!

  67. Manny Says:

Damn im so pissed brady didnt break rodgers record!!!!! He was so close!! Its a shame you go that far and that close and come up just short. My score prediction ao close. I guessed 24-16 bucs. This is actually a pretty damn good team when healthy. What a major improvement nick leverette is over sucky luke godecke. If bowles starts him again when hes healthy, he should be fired over stupidity. Now going into this bi-week with a 2 game win streak and plenty of time for guys to rest up and heal, id say things are looking good for tampa.

  68. SufferingSince76 Says:

I’m happy the Bucs proved me wrong. They haven’t lost their heart and pride. I’m also happy that Warren Sapp called out a certain someone. It helped light a fire.

  69. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    Rod,
That sounds like a social justice movement that Vlad can fully endorse and support financially:
    “GOOD COACHING MATTERS!”
    Stop the abuse!
    Justice for ALL play calls!
    Do the right thing!

Where can Vlad get a tshirt? (Jet black – long sleeve – red lettering)

  70. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    Rod,
Vlad would like to purchase a “Good Coaching Matters” black cloak with red lettering please

  71. R0n@Tampa Says:

Looks like definitely a SB championship this year. Maybe next year as well. That would make titles in 4 years. The NFL’s next dynasty has started.

  72. buccanole49 Says:

Not exactly a daunting schedule left to play. The bye week comes at a great time. December and January could be potentially fun.

  73. Bucswin Says:

Great win. Alive again. What a crowd. Should have gone. Imagine if our home stadium played songs that the krew could sing along to. Naaaah let’s keep that stadium subdued. Wouldn’t want to have too much fun.

  74. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    In the offensive meeting room:
    Lefty – “Aaaa I has a iydea”
Brady – “Yes, Byron please share it with us”
Lefty – “Aaa wha if LENNy is da QB an Brady i da WR!!”
Godwin – ” That has to be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard”
Evans – “You’ve hit a new low Byron”
Brady – ” Wait guys This is so dumb that it might actually work. I say we try it”
Godwin – ” I disagree. It has pick 6 written all over it”
Brady – “Byron, we’re going to try your idea”
Lefty – “Yyyayy! I’m da offense coordinateer!”

  75. fwfan Says:

2 weeks the season is over. Now fans are talking titles and dynasties.Delusional.It’s not easy winning a championship but don’t tell that to TB fans. The fans make it sound like its a routine act.

  76. brooks Says:

Running helped however almost left it go again. Cant put teams away. Should.have been a blowout. Needless to say impressive win.
I like the 1-2 punch reminds me of 28 amd 40

  77. Buczilla Says:

One hell of a win despite that bonehead pass from Lenny to Brady!

  81. adam from ny Says:

Brady is a stud. question is does the organization falter back to a stretch of 22 straight years of not winning a playoff game once he retires? The title talkers don’t seem to bring that up much.

  84. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Well, I’ll eat crow as well. However, the Lenny toss to Brady was absolutely the dumbest play call I’ve ever seen. Brady could have been hurt. He’s the slowest guy on the field at 45 and there was no upside to that play.

Hey yahoo, how about you learn to read? I’m not stupid enough to drink antifreeze, but you probably are. Brady was the weakest performing player on that soccer field today, and I was listening to it on radio. You probably need hearing aids.

Great job from top to bottom!

    GO BUCS!!!
