No Practice For Ryan Jensen, Will Gholston, Jamel Dean And Jordan Whitehead

December 8th, 2021

Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians

As the Bucs begin preparations to face the backs-near-the-wall Buffalo Bills on Sunday, four starters didn’t practice today.

Don’t get too freaked out though. Today was pretty much a walk-through, per Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians.

Here are the players who did not practice and what’s up with them:

Jamel Dean: He is in the dreaded concussion protocol after leaving Sunday’s game early. Not unlike the mysterious college football transfer portal, it is unknown when Dean will escape.

Will Gholston: Has a wrist injury and a knee injury. Monday Arians said Gholston’s knee injury is a patellar tendon.

Ryan Jensen: He has an ankle injury. No hint from Arians as to the severity.

Jordan Whitehead: Has an injured calf and missed Sunday’s game.

These injuries do not seem to be major as Arians did not mention any of the four being out for Sunday.

As far as a player who was injured, Richard Sherman was placed in the 21-day return window for players who are on injured reserve. Arians said he would have to wait until tomorrow’s practice and see how Sherman gets through it before Arians has an idea if Sherman could be activated for Sunday afternoon.

Not too worried about the Buffalo Bills, since both the Patriots and Colts beat them, and we beat both of those teams.
Buffalo is 0 and 2 in the last 2 games, and when they leave Tampa, they will be 0 and 3.

Jenson?? That’s not good. Gholston to, oh boy. The hits keep coming.

  3. Medicated Pete Says:

This team is a M.A.S.H Unit all season. Pete blames it on our shotty team doctor who The Glazer Kids hired from the walk-in clinic

  4. PassingThru Says:

The one injury to keep an eye on is Jordan Whitehead, as Arians earlier called it a “very significant”. Maybe an MRI showed that it wasn’t the case, but I don’t like that red flag.

Gholston’s injury looked ugly, you never like seeing a player hop and hobble off the field. But Arians said something about evaluating Gholston to see if he could play this week, so it sounds like a patella tendon strain rather than tear. That’s good news.

Transitive property doesn’t work in the NFL

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

My primary concern here is Jensen……Marpet is his backup and Marpet’s backup is on injured reserve so we are a bit thin there…..Wonder when Hainsey will get some action…..

  9. Mike Johnson Says:

Say Cris, Makes no difference who beat who from week to week. In this NFl, On any given Sunday..anybody can be beat. Just because the Colts and Pats beat the Bills does not mean they will not be ready for us. Remember, the Bills are desperate right now. They will play hard and go all out come Sunday. We must be ready.

  10. Cobraboy Says:

Well, I am concerned about the Bills. They have a scrambling QB, and scrambling QB’s have historically had their way with this Bucs D.

Unless the middle DL can get push and outside guys contain, it could be a long afternoon.

I don’t know the number, but consider taking the over. My gut says “shootout” with last possession deciding.

Succop better get his head together. No more missed kicks.

  11. EA Says:

Devin White not being 100 percent is a concern containing Allens mobility.

  12. Stone crab sam Says:

Jensen is one tough hombre. He gets it done on one leg!

Listen y’all, Ben’s about to educate. The bills just got absolutely deflowered by my beloved Patriots. They can’t stop the run period. unless Tommy boy gets pass happy, which is exactly what not to do, the bills will wilt like an autumn rose. The bucs have the line, and the back, to run at will. Obviously it doesn’t mean three pass attempts, but y’all get where Ben’s going. You don’t need or want a shootout with this bunch. Allen can win a shootout, because of his arm and legs. Ben is quite concerned with the inability of the bucs defense to assert themselves. What this game demands is complementary football. That means NO BIG PLAYS. GTFB, ball hawk and zero blitzkrieg. Put the pressure on, and with fans, Allen will bend over, and give you the game. Punishing 11 play drives. If it’s up and down, Ben is really worried. The bills are built to win this game. Brady needs to swallow some of that enormous ego he’s developed, and throw no more than 28 passes. Mark Ben’s words.. I love y’all, merry Christmas, and I’ll see y’all in the superbowl

  14. Ben green Says:

Ben will be cheering for y’all with my best wishes… @medicatedPete, where the hell you been?

SB spot on, on any given Sunday. Right? BA will have the hometeam ready.
    Go Bucs!
