Bruce Arians Updates Vita Vea Recovery Timeline

November 17th, 2021

Could play Monday

Great news coming from One Buc Palace.

Bucs fans were distressed seeing manbeast nose guard Vita Vea carted off in the final seconds against Washington on Sunday. Then bad but slightly encouraging news came that Vea had a bone bruise and a knee tear (MCL).

Today, Bucco Bruce Arians shared that Vea looks darn good and could be back very quickly.

Arians was a guest on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“He’s moving around pretty good. He was moving around fine today in the weight room,” Arians said of Vea. “We’ll see how it goes this week, but I don’t think he’s going to miss too much time if he does.”

What a great update from Arians, but Joe’s not going to go too overboard. The Bucs were fantastic without Vea last season and he’s only a part-time player.

This has Pete decking the halls with boughs of holly while sipping eggnog

  2. Pewter Power Says:

Well at least now they’d have an excuse for basically giving him part time reps

  3. Sport Says:

I don’t remember Vea committing any of the knuckleheaded offsides giving away extra sets of downs.

Does this mean we can expect to see am increase of them with someone else in there pressing instead of just doing their damn job and staying in their lane…?

I sure as hell hope not….

    In BA I Trust!

Does Pete have a job? He’s first commenter about 90% lately.

    Good News about VV
Joe is there anyway can you pry imfo out of Todd or BA why Vita is just a part time guy so much.
Why on crucial downs late in the game, like the WFT game, that the resident Rhino VV is on the sideline.
VV is going to hold his own better than Roaches when it comes to flat stuffing the run.

Is it his weight like others have stated on this Blog?
Seems to me he played more downs in other years, maybe not, I have not checked the stats.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

good–we need this guy play him we need him to crush D. Jones pocket

  7. Buczilla Says:

We need this dude for the playoffs, please don’t rush him until he is at least close to 100%. Great news though.

  8. Bucsfanman Says:

I’m glad you mentioned him being “part-time” Joe. I’m still scratching my head on that.
Still, it’ll be good to have him back sooner as opposed to later.

Joe, maybe you or someone else in here can help me out understanding the MCL. With time does it heal on its own or will he always have a small tear in it until a doc fixes it? If it can only be fixed by a Doc, doesn’t that make a complete tear possible and then he’s out a year?

Pretty sure the info that came out was bone bruise and MCL “sprain”.

A sprain IS technically a “tear” and there are varying degrees of sprains- but the term tear when referring to one of the knee ligaments is usually reserved for a much more serious case. An MCL, LCL or ACL ‘tear’ often times needs surgery to fully and properly heal. A sprain usually doesn’t.

Its a matter of degree. Technically we ‘tear’ muscle fibers every time we use those muscles….
