“You Always Gotta Have Pretty Much Four Eyes And Hands Looking At Him All The Time”

November 7th, 2020

There’s been a lot of talk about mercurial, felonious, seven-time Pro Bowl receiver Antonio Brown making his Bucs debut tomorrow.

So Joe asked a guy who’s played against Brown a handful of times about what to expect.

That guy is Bucs linebacker Shaq Barrett, the reigning NFL sacks king who faced Brown during his five seasons with the Broncos.

“You always gotta have pretty much four eyes and hands looking at him all the time, and if you don’t, he gonna torch you,” Shaq said.

Shaq noted the 2015 explosion of Brown when he notched 16 catches on 18 targets for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns versus Denver, which had the NFL’s No. 1-ranked defense that season. “And we had great corners back then, too, You just gotta game plan for him and be ready …”

In Tampa, Brown will equal easier coverage to beat for Mike Evans and the rest of the receiving corps. “I’m happy to have him on the team. I mean, he’s going to bring a lot our team.”

It won’t be long for all the naysayers to find out that simply having AB on the field will help the other Buc receivers…..especially a healthier Mike Evans…..

    So glad we signed AB!

AB might not be a good person but…There is a team that goes to, and wins the super bowl every year. While that in of itself is special – hosting your own Super Bowl would be above that and legendary. So I am all for doing any and everything to do something no other team in history has done. All in. The same logic applies to going undefeated. There are so many pathetic cowards that would prefer to lose a game to shy away from the pressure. You can either be good, or go for legend status. People generally forget who won the Super Bowl in sayyy 2010. But they damn sure don’t forget the 2007 Patriots, and 20 yrs from now people will remember Tampa if we host our own Super Bowl

Aqib Talib was in his prime back in 2015 and was Denver’s #1 CB alongside Chris Harris, Jr. They couldn’t stop Brown. They couldn’t even limit him. And that was with the NFL’s top defense and a team that won to the Super Bowl that season against Cam “I refuse to dive for the ball” Newton and the Panthers.

Talib was one of the best CB’s in football in the past decade, so if he couldn’t even contain Brown you know the guy is damn good.
