Using Antonio Brown

November 7th, 2020

Coy

What should Sean Payton, the leader of the slimy Saints, and his defensive coordinator Dennis Allen expect from the Bucs and furniture-tossing receiver Antonio Brown.

Will Brown line up outside left? In the slot? Outside right? It seems like the answer is, “Yes.”

Jenna Laine and Mike Triplett of ESPN offered sort of a two-headed preview of tomorrow night’s game

Laine noted that in Brown’s only game with the Belicheats, he lined up half the time inside and half the time outside. Additionally, Laine said Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians is not tipping his pitches on how Brown may be used. She thinks the Bucs may use Brown all over the place, so the Bucs can get a better idea of what coverages the Saints will show and perhaps find a mismatch for Brown to exploit.

Triplett noted that the Saints offense may just get back Michael Thomas to go along with dangerous Alvin Kamara.

It won’t be long for all the naysayers to find out that simply having AB on the field will help the other Buc receivers…..especially a healthier Mike Evans…..

  2. Alanbucsfan Says:

The OLine may be challenged this week with potentially no Marpet. Not just talent dropoff but communication as well.
If Bucs don’t establish a run game, Brady won’t have much time.

  3. Bobby M. Says:

I think our offense will be fine…..Brown will be productive similar to his effort in NE….handful of catches/50-60 yds/possibly 1 TD….while taking coverage off of Evans.

My biggest concern is Dean. Teams are routinely attacking him deep and getting open. I think Jones missed at least 2 throws where Dean was toast. Not sure what he’s doing back there, maybe he’s a tad too confident in his own speed but the memo is out…..he can beat deep a few times per game. Everyone is doing it and they wont stop until we show ability to defend it. Brees is one of the best at looking off defenders as well as a pump fake…..not too mention his consistent accuracy.

I think the Bucs win, with Thomas playing, or especially without him (knock on wood). The Bucs are CLEARLY the better team – at least potentially. We just have to start playing to that potential. Adding AB in might slow down that elusive team chemistry, or provide so many weapons that it gets easier. Very hard to say.

Godwin in – out – hobbled; Ali out – how will Haeg do (I think fine); AB not in sync. Mid-season, and still a lot of adjusting.

But Aint’s have the same issues. Thomas has not played in ages; Brees has old-man shoulder; other injuries.

    Bucs win.

  5. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I am worried about Dean too, because he has been exposed.
Only our pass rush saved us against the Giants.
His guy had toasted him twice!

  6. Bucs4Life Says:

Y’all are crazy , Dean is the 3rd highest graded cb in the NFL currently & is playing the toughest position . Every corner gets burned in everygame. But he make so many plays on the football. Go Bucs

  7. Ericb Says:

Yes dean has been getting burned bad and if it wasnt for inaccurate throws by jones it would of been bad.. they need to double team thomas and be careful with the short in box slant routes that the giants were eating us up on…that is what thomas is used for too…it took a long time off the clock and kept our offense off the field which is exactly what they are going to try to do…double team thomas…take him away…thier next weapon is Kamara…find a way to stop him…and were def gonna have to pressure the hell out of brees…watch thier short methodical throws is imperative …also the best defense is a great offense so we keep them off the field and they are going to have a very hard time with our three amigos on the field!!!! ..its at home and we got this lets get not only first in our devision but first in the NFC tonight with a seahawks loss!!!!!! Go bucs!!!!!

  8. Pablo Says:

Trade Evans for a first round pick Godwin is okay being a number 2 WR and resign AB long term…

  9. Soggy Says:

    Pablo drinking already?

  13. Joe in Michigan Says:

Put away the crack pipe, Pablo. Get some help.

  14. Brandon Says:

Unlnowledgeable Buc fans- I’m worried about Dean.
    Everyone else- Why?
UBF- the announcers told me to be.

Sorry. That’s the same people that think Fournette is a better runner than Rojo. People that can see know the truth.
