No Timetable For Brown

November 20th, 2020

“Call when you know something.”

Social media is all abuzz over the recent news that just days before the Bucs signed furniture-tossing receiver Antonio Brown, he had yet another freakout.

Authorities were called to Brown’s Hollywood (Fla.) condo complex because Brown, in a fit of rage, tossed a bike at a security guard shack and trashed a security camera. Brown later paid for the repairs. His condo association did not press charges.

While Brown has been a model citizen since signing with the Bucs, to hear the words of Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians, that doesn’t mean Brown is in the clear.

He may have violated his State of Florida probation terms from an assault charge. Brown pled “no contest” to a charge of working over a truck driver for a moving company in January. And the long arm of the NFL law is also investigating whether Brown should be suspended (again) for his latest dust-up.

For Joe, the story here isn’t that the Bucs signed Brown with knowledge of his latest stunt. If a team looks past how Brown quit on the Steelers and then confronted and (allegedly) threatened to punch Raiders general manager Mike Mayock as part of a dastardly scheme he hatched to get run out of Oakland, then what’s a little bike-throwing? Big deal!

The story here is what NFL strongman Roger Goodell might do and what will the State Attorney’s office in Broward County do? Jenna Laine of ESPN has the details in the video below.

Laine makes an excellent point. As part agreeing to probation instead of spending time in a Broward County lockup, Brown was ordered to undergo a head exam and required to take a 13-week anger management class. One has to wonder what grade Brown received for completing this class?

Seems OJ is wanted to make a little coin hosting the Bama Vs Auburn game. lol seriously, cool idea tho for him to connect with his fans Bucs and Tide alike.

  2. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

unrelated i know, just sick of the AB distractions

  3. Buc4evr Says:

Tom Brady is his live-in shrink so Brown will make thru the season. Off season is going to be the problem.

Let’s please try not to hijack the thread. Thank you. — Joe

  4. mark2001 Says:

Let the league and legal system do their jobs. They will… and I’m fine with that. If he is a distraction at this point, it is mostly the media pressing the hot button to stir up a story that is a large part of it, as always seems to be the case, and fans foaming at the mouth, while failing to understand in reality that a substantial percentage of these players aren’t the most reputable of citizens.

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I wonder if the intense media attention to this will ultimately cause authorities to act against Brown.
Does he deserve it….yes, if what is reported happened….

But, if there is action, it should have already been exacted.

  6. Clean House Says:

Don’t care for Jenna Lanes annoying mind numbing leading questions or her meddling and trying to stir things up. Don’t care for Joe fixating as well.
NFL has turned into a weak sauce Nanny state.

  7. $acbuc$ Says:

Can you please stop beating a dead horse.

  8. Show Me the TDs Says:

    1. Eff “Social media”.
    2. How many articles can you write about the same incident…with a slightly different slant? Let’s just wait to see if anything develops.

    agreed

    GO BUCS!!!!

  10. RO Says:

Im sure a lot of @ssholes work at my company. Who cares. The reason players get re-instated is because you cannot deny a person the right of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Time to move on….

  11. $acbuc$ Says:

We got worse problems. If the Tayson Hill experiment works we got problems for the next 7 years. That dude is a Beast. Sean have to start him because they paid him 18 mil guaranteed. They have to see what they have and if he turn out to be decent that’s trouble for us. Better start getting Rosen some snaps in this offense soon. We better start looking for the next Patrick Mahomes right now when the 2021 draft comes.

  12. Allbuccedup Says:

Browns court date in december will decide things. He will have the rams and the chiefs then a bye week. He may be available for the vikings game, after that its up to the courts.

  13. Allbuccedup Says:

    $acbuc$ I agree 100%.

  14. Robert Says:

if the hoa had no issues it’s a non story.

  15. Joe Says:

if the hoa had no issues it’s a non story.

Agree BBBUUUTTT because of this, now the NFL and Broward County State’s Attorney are involved. And *that* is the story. All it takes is one phone call from Roger Goodell and/or Broward County and poof, Brown is gone for the season.

Joe detailed all of this above.

  16. Robert Says:

AB’s biggest problem is social media. I think a LOT of us come across like asses on the web when we’re not that bad of people. social media is a tricky thing…..it can get to ya……..thats why I logged off for the most part.

you wouldn’t want video of me pissed off or drunk….and god forbid both.

  17. Robert Says:

every states attorney, DA etc, etc… is just looking for the next big headline to advance their career. most are slimier than the average joe.

  18. Joe Says:

    Robert:

Social media and alcohol are not a good mix. 🙂

  19. $acbuc$ Says:

Thanks Allbuccedup. To keep it A.B.: what you judge and jury people don’t know the difference between anger and a chip on a shoulder. If I was 5’10 making 6’5 dude catches and wasn’t getting praise like a God I would be highly upset. I would be like how many times I gotta show y’all amazing before you call me half man half amazing. When you not a athlete and just a spectator you can pass judgement quick but until you do something amazing you never knows how it feels. For example to be 5’10 and can dunk a 10 foot rim that’s amazing. If you’ve never done anything Amazing sit your awkward butt on the couch and keep visualizing amazing on TV. Untalented Talent evaluators.

  20. Frank Gallucci Says:

Leave the guy Antonio Brown alone people have skeletons in their closets no one has any room to talk.Just pray for the guy and hope he can enjoy the rest of his life as a constructive citizens and good person.Because when a person dies people don’t remember people by their athletics they remember them by their character and hopefully with the help of Brady and counseling and by surrendering himself to the Lord he can have a fruitful life.
    God Bless,
    Antonio

  21. SufferingSince76 Says:

Brown is only a distraction to the extent that you allow him to be in your head. Sort of like a lot of other stuff these days. Please give the adults on the team some credit for the ability to not act or think like you. We are not all the same no matter how many want us to be.

  22. Joe Says:

Brown is only a distraction to the extent that you allow him to be in your head.

    Thank you!

Joe learned this from his old coach: “A distraction is a distraction if you let it be a distraction.”

  23. PB Buc Fan Says:

So the GM and HC are aware but doesn’t have the foresight to tell AB this needs to be reported to the league to avoid further complications. How come this doesn’t pass the smell test Joe?

  24. Joe Says:

So the GM and HC are aware but doesn’t have the foresight to tell AB this needs to be reported to the league to avoid further complications. How come this doesn’t pass the smell test Joe?

They wanted him to play. 🙂 And since Brown paid for the damages and there were no charges pressed, guess everyone involved hoped this would either get swept under a rug or just go bye-bye.

Someone forgot there was a police report, which is public record in Florida. Whoops!

  25. Jmarkbuc Says:

    $acbuc$

They’re football players… not Gods, by any stretch of the imagination. Even AB’s imagination.

I think you must BE AB, cause that’s one weird take. Maybe you’re Giuliani.

  26. Gofortheface30 Says:

In other news – Looks like you’re having a really bad day Jameis fans. My sincerest condolences

  27. Ricky Says:

Rumour has it Jamies is not the starter JOE.

  28. Dewey Selmon Says:

Brown called Mayock a cracker and called the security woman a racist itch. AB is a racist plain and simple and had he been white he would have been gone after word got out about the camera.

  29. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

A(R)B will soon be gone. And the Bucs are gratefully as silent as they can be, since it will be done by the league. The Bucs absolutely botched this one.

  30. Joe foster Says:

Leave ab alone damn wtf y’all need find something else to do we all make mistakes

  31. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Morgus

Agree the part of your take about AB being gone soon and the league taking care of the Buc’s dirty work.

However IMHO I do not consider it rising to the level of “botching” it. Perhaps more like throwing spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks. The Bucs took a flyer but they gambled nothing but a little bad PR that will be yesterday’s news before long.

I’m just disappointed because I was looking forward to watching him play with CG 24 and ME13 and Brady and BA seemed to have figured out how to use him in the Carolina game.

Those three would…perhaps will be incredibly entertaining for the league. Because of that perhaps Goodell will fail to act until the off season.

That and the fact that the single best possible story for the NFL this year would be the GOAT @ 43 taking a woeful franchise back to the SB in their own town…an NFL first.

Then mix in all the great subplots like Brady and Gronk reuniting.

To the degree they can make it happen for ONCE the NFL wants the Bucs in the SB big time. It absolutely contains a plethora of the best human interest and sports stories available. For that reason if we’re lucky Goodell will announce he’s investigating and then hold his decision until the off season.

  32. stpetebucsfan Says:

BTW another reason AB may last the season before the suspension.

There is not an individual involved. I’m sure the poor gate guard was terrorized but she wasn’t physically assaulted. And so there are no INDIVIDUALS involved to garner any sympathy or raise any social justice anger.

Nobody really cares about TV cameras…he paid for them…and let’s be honest…not a ton of love for Condo Assn’s. Again if he had even TOUCHED another human being it would be different. Inanimate objects? Big deal.

Not defending AB or the situation just speculating on how it might go down…at least one of a dozen possibilities.

  33. Jmarkbuc Says:

Chucking inanimate objects ( especially out of say, a high rise) is still quite dangerous and exemplifies a certain level of irrational anger.

Especially for someone who’s completed anger management classes

  34. It would serve Buc fan right Says:

Well Good for Antonio no arrests since he signed with the Bucs. What has it been 3 weeks???? He is do. Loser!!!!

  35. Robert Says:

rockstars threw tv’s out of hotels on the reg….just sayin

  36. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It would be a disappointment if AB’s career went down the drain for throwing a bike at a security camera…

Come’On!!!! At least he should go all “Mike Tyson” and bite a defender’s ear off in the Rams game…..now that would be a way to go out!!!

  37. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

    @Tampabaybucfan
Evander Holyfield was asked why he was not wearing a Mask recently.
He turned his head and said” Because Mike Tyson bit my ear off”!

  38. chickster Says:

Joes a Jackass for even bringing this up

  39. Anonymous Says:

  40. Joe in Michigan Says:

Morgus The Mediocre: Okay, I’ll take the bait…What is the “R” for in your A(R)B posts?

  41. $acbuc$ Says:

Jmark ima give you the time of day because you weird or you just need some attention. There are NO gods on this planet but when you do something amazing it’s demigod like bro. I am a A.B. so I know how it feels. Not making excuses for him bro. I told all my friends that he would never see the field again and he ended up on my team. My exact words was” you don’t call yock a cracker”. Not Mike P-funkadelic Mayock. Now I don’t care what you call the rest of them closet cowards. Pieces of shhhh comes in every color. Now trade mark that.

I been doing amazing stuff my whole life but you mere mortals always seem to judge and criticize when you can’t do NOTHING amazing. You can have the greatest character in the world and still end up like Bill Cosby! Hint!

A.B it don’t matter how you start finish strong. You can impress these humans your whole life and make one mistake then they forget about all the good. They go back thru out your life and find all your bad overlooking your amazing. When you sit back and act like your shhh don’t stank thats when you think your GOD.

  42. Arnette Says:

I am so sick of the media putting down nfl player..you guys are do jealous!!!! #1 fan.

  43. $acbuc$ Says:

I’m so tired of you grown ass lil kids so I’m forced to reveal one of my super powers. It’s the ability to put myself in someone’s else shoes.

I’m a 6 round pick on a team where I worked for years to be elite. When I’m only 5’10 in a league with Megatron Fitz and Moss. Worked my way on the field after Plaxico Burreus Hines Ward Mike Wallace Santonio Moss and you draft Ju Ju to get my targets. Y’all flip flopping on Levon acting like he don’t deserve a long term contract when we 2/3rds of the 3bs. Ben Brown and Bell remember nah I doubt that forgetful Jones’s. I returned kick offs punt played special teams and the reason why we still winning now. But Juju get my targets. I finally start to get recognition from the league as being the best and hardest working receivers but juju get my targets. Don’t get me wrong I need some help so I don’t get doubled but did that kid have to work like me. No! He comes right in from day one and get thrusted in front of me like I lost it when I just got it. Man trade me right now. Only person can tell me if he didn’t feel like that is A.B. Sacbuc$ ain’t a know it all I just can imagine how he feels.

  44. SOEbuc Says:

Get off the social media news articles, Joe. We all know what happened. Get back to me when he is suspended or kicked off the team. He’s warming up nicely so let’s play some football 🏈

  45. $acbuc$ Says:

Then when I get traded finally I get to my new team and they tripping off my gear I go to battle with. I need my helmet first off so I feel normal. I should not have to get use to a new lid when I been wearing this one for years. Y’all paid me money to be A.B. not some versions y’all made. Get me my armor. Ohh y’all really acting funny about a helmet. Maybe this was a bad decision and it’s not about the money I wanna win and compete for championships. I’m a sabotage my own contract because I wanna win. Tom please pick me up when I get released I promise I will behave. Media attention and people came out of the wood works with past event to shatter his character. Released from New England out of football and now we full circle. You like that!

  46. RANDY BRIDGEMAN Says:

AB needs a relationship with Jesus. Many are praying for him including yours truly.
    🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

  47. Joe Says:

U guys continue to beat a dead horse.
I wish u would write about the mistakes u made in life

Joe knows this is a popular site but not as popular as an NFL team and there are not 50+ people depending on Joe nor is Joe walking a very thin line of getting susoeo(again).

  48. gotbbucs Says:

If the league steps in and suspends him, fine, send him on his way. The Bucs organization most likely won’t do anything about it unless the law gets involved.

This isn’t directed at you “Joe”, so don’t take offense. I don’t understand local media trying to stir up sh!t about the team they cover. I understand there are click$ involved and papers and sports media shows need content, but what do they get out of trying to undermine the local sports team, who if it’s their job to cover them, pays their salary in a roundabout way?

If the coach is a jerk and the team is lousy, so be it, but when you have a year like this where so much is on the line and history could be made, why draw attention to crap like this?

Most of us understand Antonio Brown is a head case and by all accounts a piece of sh!t. Many a good football team has had some garbage human beings playing for them. If Antonio Brown catches a few footballs and is a means to an end to get this team some wins, then so be it. We’ll enjoy the ride and when the season’s done, AB can sail off into the sewage lagoon sunset and never be spoken of again.

We’re moving on to Los Angeles. Nothing to see here.

  49. Herbert Says:

I have a few questions 1) why everyone just want mr.brown to get in trouble?
    2) why yall don’t think this man can change? 3) yall please stop looking
For the wrong in this man! 4) yall trying to run this man out of the NFL
Like yall did for tim Tebow, just all always looking for this and that.
Before he could get on the team again, yall wanted him out.
I just wish yall stop being so damn Negative. ✌🏽

  50. Edward Rhodes Says:

I did something amazing before, only I didn’t sing my own praises online or in a Bucs game. I humbly kept it to myself instead of acting like a self-absorbed, self-serving moron. Also, the amazing thing was done for someone else.

  51. Eric Brierton Says:

Man leave AB alone!!!! They knew about this so why bring it up now??? Just like when ab signed with the pats they bring it up when they thought pats were going to 4th SB in a row with AB and they were 8-0 which steelers never have done until this season and brady did it with no recivers but they couldnt let AB and brady together bc they know what time it is …and now they are trying to stop AB and brady bc they know its gonna be magical!! This is politics and trying to bring him down yes he needs to control himself obviously but dont bring up this stuff when it is convenient. On to la pressure the hell out of jared get in his face all game long and hell cough it up just like in the miami gane watch the tape on that and lets get another W!!! And im hoping JW starts so well take first place when he losses the games for the saints!!!

  52. Brandon Says:

Those that think Brady will FIX Brown. He did wonders with Aaron Hernandez…

  53. Jim Says:

No charges so leave the guy alone GOD ell should stay out of it. Bottom line no charges filed go on with your life.

  54. admin Says:

No charges so leave the guy alone GOD ell should stay out of it. Bottom line no charges filed go on with your life.

This is not about what he did. It’s what the NFL and the State’s Attorney plan to do. This is all detailed in the story. Not sure why people cannot understand this.

  55. Joe Says:

Those that think Brady will FIX Brown. He did wonders with Aaron Hernandez…

    OH! 😲

  56. Anonymous Says:

The bucs suck and antonio brown is trash the steelers 💯 they have won the most superbowls in the entire history of nfl and antonio brown shouldn’t be able ti play anymore hes crazy in the head

  57. Matt420 Says:

The NFL will not be doing anything, no punishment levied against AB because he was not arrested or charged with a crime. Yes there was a police report filed but there were no arrests made and no charges filed. However just simply having police contact in it self alone is a violation of probation. So that is something to worry about if his probation officer decides to file a violation..

  58. Jim Says:

NOTE NFL: GET RID OF THIS LOSER…

  59. $acbuc$ Says:

Goof troops I’m talking about athletic amazing not caring humanity amazing. Im not tooting my horn but I feed the homeless mentor kids and I Coach youths in sports. Let’s not have a pissing contest with good deeds for others because I lived selfless. Until I found out most people are raised to be selfish. Haters hate to give others recognition. Sometimes you run into those people who say they can but can’t they just saying they can. Then when it’s time to show up and show out they are nowhere to be found. Don’t talk about it be about it. A.B. is A Bout it. I’m tired of DBs punking the Bucs bet they don’t try that with Brown. Y’all don’t see what I see and I can’t blame you. The others teams try to intimidate us. Go watch the Tristan Wirfs mic’d up on Bucs.com. The rookie was saying wassup to a player and was shaking hands being cool. Some other player came up to him like what you say Tristan was like I just said wassup. They was tryna bully the rookie. I started to Miss Donald Penn, Davin Joseph and Trueblood because they would fight your arse. Maybe that’s why I love Jensen and Ali so much. Quit letting these fools punk us in phase of the game. Let’s go Olivia Newton John on’em for the rest of the season. PHYSICAL!

  60. MICHAEL MORRA Says:

People need to let thid go let the man play football. Media if tou need a story get a story somewhere else this one is played out. Jusy like all the stories let tje nfl and law deal with this. Reemember a man is innocent til proven guilty.

  61. Howard in PA Says:

Ok Brown is still a freak and he should be out.
    Nuff said.
    Steeler fan here btw.
We had his dustups up the rear enough to know.

  62. stpetebucsfan Says:

I’m not sure why folks are blasting Joe for simply reporting “league news” that might dramatically effect the Bucs.

Put it this way. I’m getting pretty excited watching what AB can do on the field.
I suspect many of you are as well. So imagine we get all excited and AB helps us win four more we make the playoffs we’re geeked and AB gets suspended.

Now imagine Joe knew about the back story all along but never told us. I would be angry. At least this way my excitement about AB is tempered by the FACT that he MAY not be here all season long.

Forget the “news” about the actual events…we’re talking about the Buc’s chances going forward. This is NEWS in terms of our future.

  63. Ralph Anderson Says:

I am a huge Steelers fan. One of the best days for us is when AB was no longer a Steelers. Good luck Tampa. Once a problem always a problem. AB will not change.

  64. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

To those of you saying “Leave ARB alone, he won’t be suspended….there were NO charges!!” etc. etc……Ummmmm, was Jameis charged with anything for his Uber “hassle” ??
