Improvement

October 29th, 2020

Bucs WR Scotty Miller.

So who is the most improved Bucs player?

The Bucs have a lot of good players. Finally, after years of being told by coaches the Bucs had good players, fans can now see the proof in the standings.

If Joe had to guess, Joe would say Ronald Jones is the most improved. Outside of Tampa, if you mentioned Ronald Jones to any sports fan who didn’t see him in college, that person probably thought you had too many beers and meant to say “Roy Jones.”

RoJo went from an NFL never-been into a possible Pro Bowl player and one of the top NFL running backs in just a handful of games.

The next player Joe would guess to be most improved is Scotty Miller. Who among us believed Miller would be among the NFL leaders in anything this fall? But he is.

Per Andrew Holman of the Bucs’ media relations staff, Miller is in the NFL’s top-five in yards-per-reception for those with a minimum of 20 catches.

The 20 catches is the key. Most stat sites include receivers who have less catches. Miller also is averaging nearly 17 yards a catch, fifth in the NFL (minimum 20 catches). That’s damn good and solidifies him as park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting Bucs quarterback Tom Brady’s BFF.

Earlier this week, Miller did a spot on NFL Network. Joe already addressed Miller talking about Antonio Brown. You can see Miller’s full interview in the NFL Network video below.

Those who made the Madden season preview. Seriously. If you look those videos you can see #10 on almost every Bucs possession.
But I confess that I thought it ridiculous.
    Go Bucs

  2. August 1976 Buc Says:

The #1 ability is availability, period. Scotty is benefitting from the others being nicked up. Even he has a few himself. If Tom trusts you, AND you have speed to burn. The ball is coming your way. Wes Welker was a very consistent WR for the Pats, but Scotty’s speed takes it up a notch. Stay healthy Scotty, big games ahead and you are needed. GO BUCS!!!!

  5. VA Tom Says:

I think Scott just goes to show you…most NFL talent is top notch, even the guys who aren’t household names. Would Scotty be this good with Breeze? Naw, so the puzzle pieces 9f a good O Line, a QB with an arm and amazing touch add up to make Scotty’s talent shine. Put him in the Lions and he’d be drummed out of the NFL in 2 yrs with 40 catches for 650yds.

  6. Joe in Michigan Says:

My candidate for most improved is Michigan’s own Will Gholston, doing the dirty work. Scotty Miller is greatly improved, also.

  7. Cannon Says:

Miller gives us the ability to rip the top off of the opposing defense. Its beautiful.

With Miller here, losing Adam Humphries became a no bid deal moment

If COVID went away today, and the NFL had a Pro Bowl, I predict NO Bucs play in the PB bc they would be getting prepped for the SB!!

  11. Cobraboy Says:

    Hands down, Alex Cappa.

Of course, OL only get attntion when they screw up.

    Few see them improve.

    I love the big uglies.
