Dominant At “80 Percent”

October 25th, 2020

Joe was so fired up for Chris Godwin catching all nine balls thrown his way today in Vegas.

Man, Joe hopes Antonio Brown ran out and bought himself a seat cushion.

After the game on the Buccaneers Radio Network, Bucco Bruce Arians said he asked Godwin for his physical status before kickoff. Godwin’s response, per Arians, “80 percent.”

Not a bad day’s work for 80 percent. Godwin had a stunning touchdown catch and finished with 88 yards. And, of course, the Bucs called on him to block.

The healing hamstring sure looks good to Joe. And obviously, Godwin’s early-season concussion appears to be a non-factor.

The 9-for-9 (catches vs. targets) really speaks to the great chemistry Godwin has with Tom Brady.

Joe wrote this morning about extra cheering for Godwin today. The looming presence of Brown makes Joe love and appreciate everyone on the great Bucs receiving corps that much more. But man, Joe wants Brown to beg for a trade before he even gets here. The Bucs simply don’t need the guy — or the risk he presents. (Yeah, Joe knows they can just cut Brown if he acts up.)

Joe wonders how fired up Brady is for Godwin to have a perfect day when he’s not 100 percent. That really speaks to everything Brady is all about.

Not sure why we signed him.??

  2. Casual Observer Says:

    Who needs BA?

  3. Bird Says:

    Ha

Brady could care about your title
I mean the one hoe Should just hide like ndog

    Thats a qb

    18 and 4
    Patriots suck
    Noles suck

  4. ©MadMax Says:

LOL, its too much, JUST STOP!!!!

Godwin and AB, Evans and Miller, Brate and Gronk….I mean how do you stop that? Can only double one and the rest with the surgeon in Brady is going to surgically destroy you. I mean, come on man! Too much…and Im loving too much!

  5. Coburn Says:

Eh brown will have fresh legs if nothing else I get. An extra body to make a playoff run. But yeah I question why. Def got some insurance anyways

  6. Demete Says:

    Get over it already.

  7. mark2001 Says:

bojim… Tony just said it… Covid Insurance. He is an insurance policy, that can allow us to get Godwin and Evans healthy, without having to be faced with putting out the receiver lineup like we did in Chicago. And Brady wants him… and Brady is giving us all we could ask for on the field. So why not. It isn’t a church couples retreat… it is football.

  8. Ricky Says:

What about the other side Joe? You were looking at the wrong receiver.

  9. Tampabuscsbro Says:

I still don’t get why Joe is this peeved over Brown.

If he screws up he is out. This isn’t going to be like Dirk where he is so spineless that he going to keep them around with the hopes of getting an extra win out of them.

  10. ModHairKen Says:

Pay Godwin. Pay him. Keep him here. Make sure he knows he is valued. Tell him the AB signing is for this year only.

Licht, do not F this up. Also, McClendon was a great pickup.

    BL IS WORKING MAGIC

    GO BUCS

  12. mark2001 Says:

A thing I think will be intriguing it to see the number of comp picks we get next year after these guys like Fournette and others likely go elsewhere. I’ve never seen us have seen two or three good comp picks. But there will well paid starters on other teams that were Bucs this year.

  13. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Dude, the one thing I think you’re totally right about and all these people commenting are TOTALLY ok with letting THIS horrible of a human being on this team because he can run fast and catch a ball!!! We have to start holding these people to higher standards!! Because whether you, the players or the NFL think so or not… These guys are looked at as role models!! Now think about this guy grabbing on your daughter or sister or mother!! Think about if YOU attacked some movers who were just doing their job would that be ok?? No it wouldn’t!! Would it be ok if you brought an entourage with you to a job interview so they could tape it and make a rap video out of it?? Is that acceptable behavior where you come from???? …. We have to start holding ourselves in this country to a higher standard!! Everyone complained about that movie cuties but blasted W.A.P. while their 4 year old girl was in the back seat!! It’s all connected and we need to be better!!! Hypocrites!!!… This guy DOES NOT deserve another chance to make this kind of money and be a role model again!!! Hold tight to your values because they mean more than a game!! Forget about the bucs winning it’s not worth the souls he’ll corrupt being on a platform such as the NFL!! It’s sickening and anyone condoning it congratulations… You are part of the problem you complain about in this country!!!

I think Joe is talking so much trash about AB in an attempt to bait him into lashing out at Joe publicly, therefore getting him cut. If so thats some chess moves not checkers.

If that’s not the angle, then please do us all a favor and show some mercy on that horse’s body Joe.

Please. Cancer Brown likely has no clue this site exists. And if he gets triggered from something Joe writes, he’s got MUCH bigger problems than we imagined — and he just may have given his history.

  16. Brandon Says:

Not a fan at all of signing AB but my hope is that he replaces Jaydon Mickens as punt and kick returner and 4th/5th in case of emergency break glass WR.

  17. SlyPirate Says:

    Godwin produced catching and blocking
    Miller is a nightmare
    Gronkowski was great
    Fournette showed some hands

  18. Swampbuc Says:

The idea to trade Antdungio is brilliant. Get something while you can. Send him to the Cowboys.

  19. Bangkok Buc Says:

Not only is AB a great policy in case Godwin and/or Evans are injured, it keeps him off the Seahawks, Packers or Saints so it’s a double bonus.

  20. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

It’s simple. AB is insurance. ME13 looks poor at best. Something is clearly wrong with him. At the first sign of an issue with AB, he’s cut. If anybody can keep him in line, it’s the anti-crab legs, anti-rape, anti-grab the Uber driver’s crotch, anti-stupid interception QB.

  21. orlbucfan Says:

Been calling Chris Godwin ‘Ungodly’ since his rookie season. He is ungodly and scary good as a receiver from anywhere including out of the backfield. Hope he is slowly getting back to 100%. The extra day will give him and his bro ME13 more time to heal. Who is Antonio Brown and do we really need him?

  22. Bucs Fan Since ‘76 Says:

Signing AB makes possible sense for only two reasons. First, to fix our return game which is easily the weakest link on the team. Mickens is no threat whatsoever, and there will come a time when we will need a huge return to win a key game. Second, as an insurance policy for Scottie Miller, who is our primary deep threat. He’s not going to be a significant part of the rotation coming in so late in the season.

  23. Rayjay1122 Says:

Joe and other haters on AB, what class acts you are. Perhaps he has changed. What a nice welcome he is getting from you bums. Look in the mirror gents. Stooges. Support your team instead of hating.

  24. BillSea Says:

Hopefully you catch up to the agenda, Joe.

  25. Bucemup Says:

BA said Brown is insurance and he’s a great receiver. He will get in where he fits in. If not then we move on. What’s so hard to figure out?

  26. stpetebucsfan Says:

I think the potential upside of AB makes the Bucs feel like they”re playing with house money much like Belicheat did last year. First sign of trouble and the Bucs launch him just like the Pats.

As for the moral considerations?….Well we survived five years of JW, four years of DJT, four months of AB shouldn’t be that much of a challenge.

  27. TampaTown Says:

Some announcer said today that AB was Covid insurance. I’m sorry I don’t remember who because I’ve been drinking all day. What a weekend WooHoo!!

  28. Macko Says:

This contract will be low money and filled with stipulations! AB has one shot to act right on and off the field before his career is done! If he shows his a#!, he will be released immediately! I’m hoping for the best out of him tho! GO BUCS!!

  29. Bradley Clement Says:

You sound dumb Joe. AB was on pace to be a top 5 WR ever. Sure, you don’t like him, I get it. Get a cushion? Get serious Joe.

  30. Steve Gaudreau Says:

All I can say is that BILL SHOULD HAVE PAID TOM!! he looked like a 30 yro yesterday. That td to Miller! Yeah he’s lost his deep ball! That rifle to Godwin. Yeah he’s lost velocity. Picking apart the defense? Yeah he’s waaaaaay off the cliff at 44. Brate, Hudson, Taylor. Those guys would be the number ones in NE. Lol Tom being Tom makes them look all pro and now AB!? Oh boy! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

  31. Eric Brierton Says:

@JOE…..really ???? This is supposed to be pro bucs right??? Every time you write its putting down brady. . Now putting down AB what about all the crap JW did and all his accusations and stuff he actually did??? Now with that said..video tape your life and I bet every single person on this earth has dirt on them..he who lives in a glass house should not throw stones ..or the he who be without sin cast the first. ..AB is needed especially since the injury history of our recivers…now thank God they are good now but there still is many weeks and many tough games ahead…AB is needed and he will instantly take us to another level….and how ignorant..for you as a writer to let AB go to the seahawks!!!…and in case you dont know they are in the top of the NFC..if AB went there it would have been disastrous..

  32. Joe Says:

Every time you write its putting down brady.

Do you work at One Buc Palace? Only people who work there think that. This also proves you don’t read many stories on this here site, including today.
