So About Tom Brady’s Arm

October 25th, 2020

“Old man, you still have it.”

Joe has confessed previously to rarely watching Tom Brady with the Belicheats.

Why is that? Joe cannot stand the Belicheats and refused to watch them. F’ this noise about watching teams rooting for them to lose. Joe watches sports for entertainment and for Joe, there is nothing entertaining about the Belicheats. Didn’t matter if it was a Super Bowl or not. If they were playing, Joe wasn’t watching live (unless Joe was at a party and pretty much was forced to).

So when the Bucs signed the then-42-year old Brady, Joe read a lot from folks who did watch the Belicheats who claimed the arm of the park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting quarterback wasn’t the same, that he lost his fastball.

Joe didn’t see that in training camp and Joe sure as heck didn’t see that today. Brady was throwing absolute bullets, whether it was firing downfield deep for Scotty Miller or rifling the ball for touchdowns to Chris Godwin or Tyler Johnson.

Brady threw four touchdowns today and his arm was as live as a 21-year-old rookie.

Also, Joe had to laugh at Brady’s rollout touchdown to Godwin. Joe saw Brady run rollouts in the red zone in training camp and laughed. First, Joe was of the opinion, based on reviews of those who covered Bradym that he was such a glorified statue he walked around with pigeon sh!t on his shoulders.

And then Joe today saw Brady rollout (just like Joe saw him do in training camp) and threw to Godwin who made an acrobatic catch for a score.

Brady washed up? Brady too old? Brady doesn’t have the arm anymore? Ha!

Yeah, Joe laughed when Brady rolled out to hit Godwin for six.

But you know who wasn’t laughing?

Chucky.

  2. Joe Says:

  4. ©MadMax Says:

Its his brain…snap fast seeing and decision making….and yes, the arm is still there.

Thank you Mr. Licht and Brady for bringing this together….i saw it way before anyone and just knew it could happen.

Hey, you fellas ready for the Superbowl at home? I hope you are

  5. Jerk04 Says:

It really is amusing we haven’t heard from pup and realist since Sunday. Pup the football genius. I’m worried Brady may need to look over his shoulder cause you no pup blames him his man crush isn’t here anymore.

Pup probably his hiding under the table with his tail tucked between his legs and ears pinned back cause Brady keeps smacking him in the nose with the newspaper

  6. Joe in Michigan Says:

Yes, Brady looks good. Better than I expected. The whole team has, really. The W’s are the main thing.

  7. tickrdr Says:

But everyone throws lots of INTs in their first year in Arians’ offense.

  8. bojim Says:

    Offensive player of the week.

  9. Craig Says:

Not only can he throw it a long way, it is where it needs to be when it gets there. It’s enough to make you forget the name of that joker we had under center last year.

If it wasn’t for the possible addition of Antonio Brown, I would have said that the Glazer and Licht finally learned a few things about putting together a team. This Bucs team looks at least as good as the best of the NFL, even with the DBs playing from out in left field.

  10. D-Rome Says:

The most wins the Bucs had after 7 games with Jay-Miss at QB was 3.

It’s laughable that some of you and one of the Joes wanted to re-sign that clown.

  11. Dangeruss Says:

Jose is banned from Ray J for all Playoffs & SB until he apologizes to TB12 & Tampa Bay for calling the lying alleged sexual predator-rapist-crab leg stealing-Uber assaulting “America’s QB!” Dallas is looking for a Jamesis butt smoother!! Consider relocating! I gave up my season tickets when Tampa drafted the stain! Now I have season tickets cuz of China flu!!

  12. mark2001 Says:

Joe.. loved post game coverage comments, where someone said he hasn’t seen Brady run that well on a rollout in years. Seems he found that Ponce De Leon fountain of youth rumored to be in Florida.

  17. bucsince79 aka bumaneer Says:

Tb12 looked very comfortable today. It looks like he is understanding his offense & his players strengths. He delivered more dimes than a street level dealer! LOL

  18. Beeej Says:

My only concern about the team is Evans…is he playing at 75% or something?

  19. 407buc Says:

“America’s Quarterback” Tom Brady? How about that moniker… because its true unlike the last scrub you called that. Pathetic

  20. 813bucboi Says:

After the game last week folks were ready to fire BL and send Bowles to the HOF….lol…

Not a peep about the job BL has done???….WOW…

But he missed a few passes….

  22. SB Says:

Our Current QB has 18 TDs to only 4 turnovers.
Defense is finally getting a rest after giving the Offense back the ball.
    Balance? Ball security?
Pffft say all the Winston huggers.

  23. JimmyJack Says:

IlI was one fan that was worried about the 43 year old arm. All my fears were alleviated Game 1 vs the Saints. Brady has plenty of juice.

  24. Pick6King Says:

Hopefully Licht and Glazers are learning a lesson about how important the QB position is. Yes, you need offensive weapons and a good defense. But the QB is easily the most important component.

I haven’t felt like this in almost 20 years.

    Go Bucs!!!

  25. bojim Says:

So where’s all the noodley and weenie arm guys? You don’t know your sht.

  26. bucsfaninOregon Says:

What the heck. Jamis would have done as good—NOT!
That was the most accurate passing exhibition I have seen on for the Bucs since I started watching (almost every down) in 1978.

Being an old guy, about the only benefit is you have a lot of things. Other than his first pass he looked like Joe Montana or (dare I say it, my first football hero, Sonny Jurgenson).
I’d rather have Brady the QB for TB football at the same price as than famous Jameis for 10 years.

  27. JimmyJack Says:

813 Byron is a top tier OC. Argubably the best in the league. Anybody saying otherwise has no idea what they are talking about and they might be stupid.

The numbers simply speak for themself.

  28. JimmyJack Says:

Anybody wanna talk about Jameis Winston?

We won 45-20 and we are 5-2

  29. Rod Munch Says:

Brady’s arm has looked good all year, except in that 2nd half at home against Carolina when it was really windy during the 3rd quarter and he looked like he was having a hard time. But it was also really windy against the Packers and he did quite well. It seems like his range is right around 50-55 air yards, which is plenty to get it done in the NFL. Much more important than his range is his accuracy, and outside of a few misfires, he’s mostly been exceptional there.

Amazing how quickly these games have gone from close to blowouts – and to think the team can still get better as they add another all-pro weapon.

Next week is the big one, it’s the game the Bucs traditionally lose as it’s at home, and really important, that’s generally when the Bucs choke. If Brady and the D can get it done again, then at that point the team starts feeling special.

  30. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – Apparently you want to talk about Winston since you brought him up. Another sign of WDS, we win big and your thoughts are about your ex. It’s sad.

  31. Steven007 Says:

Anthem, can you man up and admit you were wrong about this ridiculous weenie arm narrative now? You would gain some respect here.

  32. tickrdr Says:

    @Dangeruss:

I gave up my season tickets after year three of “Mr. Excitement”.

Where’s NDOG… in New Orleans watching America’s Turnover Machine hold a clipboard!! NDog is the biggest idiot this side of California!!!

  39. Rod Munch Says:

813bucboi – If Leftwich would stop running it up the gut on every non-scripted 1st down, the offense would be putting up even more points. This offense can be an all-time special type of offense if Leftwich would just mix up his 1st down run up the gut. Arians tried to force him by scripting the opening playaction pass, but once you got past that, Leftwich went back into his shell again. If the team didn’t have to deal with 2nd and 9 on every drive because of Leftwich’s playcalling, the team would be doing even better.

As for hating Leftwich? He’s just calling plays from Arians playbook – this isn’t his playbook, he’s not doing anything other than determining the order of plays, and that’s where he’s failing. He has all-world talent everywhere to bail him out, thankfully.

  40. Rod Munch Says:

You morons so triggered by NDOG that you’re talking about him, it’s really pitiful how easily you dopes fall for a troll over and over and over again. We win a game and you idiots are talking about Winston and an online troll. LOL!

  41. Of course Says:

NDONGY and ROD MUNCH hold hands.

    Grrrrrrr.

  43. NDog is an idiot Says:

Of Course is right on!! Rod Munch sits down to Pee too!!! What a pansy!!!

  44. Rod Munch Says:

Alvin – I love Winston, I wasn’t the one talking about him, I was talking about Brady, you know, the QB who runs the team. That’s the difference between someone who is sane, and someone who suffers from WDS and feels the need to gossip about him constantly – they literally can’t celebrate a win, they have to make it about someone else. It’s sad, a real mental disorder.

  45. 813bucboi Says:

  46. catcard202 Says:

TB12 was on time today…Looked sharp & in mid-season form…That dime to Miller was nice & all…But what I am pleasantly surprised to see & what I think big story is…Only 4 penalties for only 20yds.

That’s a pretty clean game from this group…In back to back weeks, they’ve looked like a well oiled & discipled group. That’s a real promising development.
3 time would be a trend…Let’s hope this turns into a trend.

  47. Rod Munch Says:

813bucboi – Please be less of a dullard.

    I’ll pray for you.

    God bless.

    What was that BucsAnthem?

Lasers….I saw lasers all over the field today.

    Don’t be a “weenie” Anthem.

    Go Bucs!!!!

  51. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Rod – We put up 45 points and you’re complaining about play calling? Enjoy the win man. Body blows are a real thing and open the play action all day long. Play calling is working just fine. Ask Chucky.

  52. Bucamania Says:

Brady was the difference again. In command and throwing lasers to the open receiver. Refuses to let up or accept poor play. Man we’re lucky to have him. And Gronk is baaaaack baby!

  53. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

You know who else isn’t laughing???Mr. Kraft and Bellicheat whom I’m sure Bellicheat had to convince to let Brady go and 4 million Patriot fans! Bootifull!!!! People need to realize Brady after 7 games is only 6 tds from what he threw in 2019, now that’s impressive! I hope we get to play Chicago in the 1st round of the playoffs if we get there. Revenge will be a dish best served cold!

  54. Bucsfanman Says:

I have to ask this question because Schlereth kept saying it over and over and over.
WHO? WHO keeps saying this?! WHO keeps saying Brady doesn’t have the arm strength?
I bet there are few saying it after Sunday.

  55. Buczilla Says:

Brady hasn’t lost a gosh damn thing the way he was slinging it yesterday and sticking it to Gruden at the end. He is easily the most accurate qb that I have ever seen play for us and it’s not even close.

  56. FairMinded Says:

So we have the ACTUAL America’s Quarterback possibly of all time and yet you’re gonna refer to the man as: park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting quarterback?

Doesn’t sound clever…it’s insulting. What a difference this guy makes! Huge win!

  57. 6throundpick Says:

Told ya. Just saying. Haven’t missed a Bucs game this year; haven’t seen a NEP game, either. Brady was only done in Belichick’s system, even before last year. How’s that working out forya, Bill? TB12 will continue to improve, and so will the team. What many on this board are still missing is the TB12 management of the clock and the big plays at crunch time. (The CHI fiasco was a first…over it.) And Gronk…notise the running game improve, yet? Once he’s a double/triple-team threat, again, other players get more space. And Gronk will still make the plays, as TB12 knows where to throw it and does. AB? Great insurance. Mix it up. Enough football for everyone. And when he lights it up, who are you going to cover? Miller? I can tell Brady loves him…reminds me of Weller. Lots of work to do. New attitude. Don’t think KC won’t be shifting themselves. Go Bucs!
