Brady Drops

October 8th, 2020

Ranking.

Joe generally doesn’t post power rankings or team rankings. They sort of bore Joe.

However, Joe’s breaking from tradition here because this is so hysterical.

Over at CBS Sports, Cody Benjamin has his weekly quarterback rankings, with park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady at No. 9.

TB12 makes his return to the top 10 after a five-TD explosion against the Chargers. That performance was doubly impressive because of how it started, with Brady duped on an early pick-six. Brady’s resume suggests he could still be more accurate pushing the ball downfield, but if you’re a Bucs fan, you have to be thrilled at these early returns from a 43-year-old arm.

OK, that’s nice and all. But so what?

Brady’s performance was, as Benjamin wrote, “doubly impressive.” Yet on the same day that Brady was named “Offensive Player of the Week,” Benjamin dropped him two spots from last week where he was No. 7.

How exactly can you be named Offensive Player of the Week and get worse??? LOL Joe is guessing they will let anyone write at CBS these days.

It seems Benjamin may have dinged Brady for his deep-ball passing. But Brady is one of the league leaders in deep throwing. And, Brady is having one of his best seasons throwing deep.

Yet that gets him demoted in the eyes of one internet stenographer! LOL

You can’t make this stuff up.

IMO opinion Brady has shown he still has the ability to get the ball downfield .
He and Scotty Miller can still improve on their completion %. The more Brady
adjusts to Miller’s speed , we will see more TD’s.Miller has caught a couple of balls where he had to slow up a little bit, eliminate that and it will be smooth sailing to the endzone.

Must have got a E mail from the N pup.

  3. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

Expect fewer deep balls tonight and vintage Brady “dink and dunk” passes to the running backs…especially with Evans hurting and Scotty Miller possibly out. This 10 day break can’t get here quick enough for Jaymiss.

  4. BucEmUp Says:

Are these ranking based on the week 5 oponenet? If so, the bears defense is pretty good.

  5. August 1976 Buc Says:

Ha ha ha Cody you are a very funny man. Brady the GOAT still has got it, quite to the contray of a lot of talking heads, that have never played a down in the NFL. GO BUCS!!!!

  6. Darin Says:

It says he makes his return to the top 10 as if he was lower. Did he not know his own previous rankings? Anyway yes Bucs fans are thrilled!

  7. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Brady has no doubt shown he’s lost zip on the ball……..

Ant NFL caliber QB can get the ball down field by putting air underneath it with a good healthy lob…….

But the zip or “strength” shown by Justin Herbert is 100% gone in Brady’s arm..

Once again Bucs fans………don’t confuse the two

  8. Bird Says:

Geez. Yah that makes about as much sense as nsob

Tonight is a good test. In chicago …probably windy as hell against a top 5 defense.

Guys are injured but they always are…so no excuses there.
Hoping our running backs stay healthy cause we have only 2 options now and i dont want to see lavonte playing rb. 😂

    @Joe
“How exactly can you be named Offensive Player of the Week and get worse???”

Tom is looking good so far. Hopefully not too many injuries.

  11. Brad Says:

I thought the article was going to be about how many yards and TDs Brady would actually have if we drop the ball all the time.

  12. Brad Says:

    Didn’t*

  14. the_end Says:

    @Mike C

    Weenie Arm doesn’t get it.

  15. the_end Says:

Will the legend of Weenie Arm return tonight and terrorize the seven kingdoms?

Or will peace and tranquility amongst the seven continue for another week within the realm?

  16. El Buco Realisto Is a Dicko and NDogTurd is a Crybaby and TheBucsAnus is a Noddle Brain Troll Says:

He may have lost some ‘zip or strength’, but he’s not a ‘noodle-arm’ as you have said many times. That’s why your credibility is next to nothing.

  17. Ftmyersbuc Says:

Anthem, Brady never had a strong arm, ever. #1 reason he was a 6th rounder. In his prime he could only ever throw about 54 yards in the probowl skills show. His accuracy, touch, and decision making are what’s elite.

  18. Bird Says:

    Bucsanthem

    Lolololol

    Who are you?
Yah. Brady is garbage. Crappy arm
He is throwing 40-50 yard dimes

Tough times for you…so hard to watch bucs win.
