Long passes can be defined as those that travel 20 or more yards in the air.

And guess who has completed the highest number of those throws in the National Football League this season?

The NFL uses tracking technology on game equipment, including footballs, so they have the exact data of how far every pass is thrown. And those “NextGen Stats” show that through four games, nobody has completed more deep passes than Tom Brady.

He’s tied with 11 completions of 20+ air yards with Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson.

Brady has completed 50 percent of those throws, whereas he completed just 36.2 percent through his last four years at New England. (NextGen stats have only been around since 2016.)

Bucco Bruce Arians is known for his “No Risk It. No Biscuit.” motto when it comes to his approach to offense.

The skeptics said that wouldn’t be Brady in Tampa, or he wouldn’t be successful with it, if he was called upon to fire the ball downfield regularly. Obviously, Brady is proving them wrong.

He’s proving a lot of trolls wrong.

Joe you should’ve put a pic of a crow so the haters and non-believers can feast.
    Go Bucs

  3. Youngbucs Says:

Of course he’s proving the trolls wrong. But it doesn’t matter to them they’re gonna still say he’s not running BA offense. They say they talk facts when they really got nothing. And are trying to dilute the truth go BUCS!!!

  4. Bobby M. Says:

I think at this stage, Brady is pretty in tune with what he can and can not do. He just doesn’t seem like the type to attempt passes that would hurt the team. At the same time, i do believe if you’re one on one, Brady is putting faith in you to win those match ups….or at a minimum break the play up. I dont think he had the players in NE that could win those match ups. In Tampa, he definitely does.

  5. Steven007 Says:

Been saying this for days. Anthem’s noodle armed troll job has been destroyed. The fact that he keeps bringing it up shows you how weak his sauce actually is.

  6. mark2001 Says:

Of course, when you have a guy like Evans or Gronk that can come down with 90% of the 50/50 balls, your percentage is likely inflated…just as Jameis’s were when the targeted Evans every other throw….and Johnny footballs.

  7. buc15 Says:

I bet NDOG/Anthem can guess who has completed zero 20+ yard passes this year

  8. El_Buc941 Says:

So far Tommy Boy is proving everybody. Everyone said that he didn’t have the arm strength to throw the ball downfield and he’s check that off his list. Next they said that he would be getting hit a lot insect a ton and Bruce Arians as offensive scheme and his check that off as well. Let’s move on to Leonard fournette… Everyone said that is drama queen attitude is the reason he got booted from Jacksonville and so far we’ve seen none of that here in Tampa. Maybe it’s because of the stress that he knows he didn’t have a winning culture and a reliable quarterback around him but that’s no excuse. So far all the free agents that have come down to Tampa and the guys that have already been on the roster seem to be enjoying this season and having a great time. Everyone is hating on Tampa cuz we’re three and one and they say we haven’t played anybody but look how they’re praising the Cleveland Browns and they have the same record as us.

So a guy that has NEVER sat in the pocket holding the ball waiting for all these deep routes to get open is going to do that behind this oline for the first time at 43 years old.

TB12 will start screaming at incompetent QB intern Leftwich
What will BA do when TB12 goes directly to the Glazer boyband and demand the firing of BAs adopted son?
Kobe Faker has heard from reliable sources that TB12 little Chihuahua Alex Guerrero is starting sh!t already ”

  16. Blogtalkfootball.com Says:

Joe, do you have they stats for which player was targeted the most on those throws? Scotty and Evans are probably high on that list.

  17. DBS Says:

Karen is back again. Paul you do realize Brady can stad uoZZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  18. All lives matter Says:

It’s proof that Brady had no real quality receivers in NE for quite sometime. Remember when he was giddy about the chance to sign AB? Well that’s how bad it was when the only legit #1 was Edelman. Sanu struggled along with Hogan.

  19. JOe Says:

    Blog:

Those are available in the gamebooks on NFL.com but it is painstakingly long to look those up individually as you have to go play-by-play and there are some 80 offensive plays each game. That’s why Joe leans on the stat geeks for that info.

  20. Jeagan1999 Says:

Except for a couple of interceptions, Brady and Mahomes have basically the same stat line!

  21. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Mahomes….1,134 yds, 11 TD’s, 150 ATT, 101 Comp, 67.3%
    Brady……….1,122yds, 11 TD,s, 155 ATT, 101 Comp, 65.2%

  22. DBS Says:

    my keyboard went down.
Should have been Brady can defend himself!

  23. Bucsfanman Says:

Only someone with their head in the sand would be surprised!

It’s Tom freakin’ Brady people! Jameis “Turnover” Winston racked up 5,000 yards and we didn’t think that Brady could run it?!! SMH

  24. #1bucfan Says:

Geno thank you for showing these trolls they are wrong. If the Bucs keep this up I sure hope you keep helping put these trolls in their plays kutos to you

  25. lambchop Says:

None of this matters if we don’t get to the playoffs.

Let’s see how our offense is when we play elite offensive teams. Will we be able to keep up. We have yet to play 60 minutes.

I’m a TB12 fanboy. So, this is not a knock on Brady. It’s just way too early to tell how far this team can go.

    1 game at a time.

  26. Buczilla Says:

I’ve seen a lot of people try to compare Manning in Denver to Brady with us. Manning physically, was nearly toast and he had to rely on his experience, game smarts, etc.. Brady has all those things and has proven to still have it physically. I’m enjoying the hell out of this season.
