“Managing” Gronk

August 18th, 2020

Fitting in.

So there is all kinds of chatter about how park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady has taken over the Bucs practices through both his actions and his charisma.

But what about the guy with the bigger-than-life personality, future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski?

Oh yes, fellow tight end O.J. Howard spoke about Gronk yesterday. This morning before Bucs practice, James Palmer of NFL Network, who is embedded with the Bucs for the month, hopped on “Good Morning Football” to discuss the Bucs and Gronk was one of the subjects.

In short, the Bucs are “managing” Gronk’s reps in practice. Given that Gronk’s body was beat to a pulp forcing him into a one-year retirement, and that Gronk was struggling to adjust to the Florida heat, the Bucs are playing it smart with the former WWE wrestling champion.

You can see Palmer’s report in the NFL Network video below.

The only thing I could tell Gronk about the heat is always know the other guy feels it too. Use that heat to motivate yourself to play even harder and determined to not let it beat you. If you stay relentless you will eventually be rewarded when it gets to the other guy. Use that heat to you advantage.

I think the daily grind in this heat affects all southern teams. Unless they can practice in indoor facilities don’t give me this crap that it makes them stronger. It zaps their energy while visiting teams appear to do ok on gameday because they aren’t subjected to it 24/7. Then explain to me why our team looks exhausted and don’t have the advantage some claim they would have after practicing in this heat before gameday?

Agreed. The heat being an advantage is a myth. The Bucs home record bears this out.

Predicting Gronk will be a porn star after retiring from NFL
