Ed Reed: “Look Out For That Guy, Man.”

July 29th, 2020

Hall of Fame love for a Buccaneer is always a great thing.

The legendary 64-interception safety, Ed Reed, saw a lot in his 13 seasons, so it was very cool to see him dropping love on Chris Godwin on NFL Network last night.

It wasn’t live, it was in a couple of scenes during the segment honoring Godwin as the 38th-best player in the league. Reed is seen approaching Godwin on the field immediately following the Bucs’ 35-22 win at Atlanta in November. Godwin racked up 7 catches for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns.

“Bro, where you get this hands from. Talk to me, bro,'” Reed is seen telling Godwin as he walked off the field and shook his hand.

“I like that kid, man,” Reed says without the Bucs receiver nearby. “Chris Godwin got a bright future. Look out for that guy, man.”

If there is no interruptions to the season, Godwin will be a top 5 WR by season end. He has great hands, speed, smarts, dedication and quickness to be great.

    Godwin is great!

  3. Colorado Says:

Next year when the Bucs lose Godwin to Pittsburgh look for the Bucs to draft a 6’6 MONSTER wide receiver out of Colorado State, Warren Jackson! One of the best receivers in the country last year, 3rd in the nation in yards per game, tore his opponents apart.

    Mark my words!

Yes, that dude is a monster, but he isn’t lasting to the Bucs, drafting 32nd!

Well played Day1 – I see what you did there.

  6. Hodad Says:

We all know Godwin is good, I’d feel better if Reed was saying that about one of our safties.

Godwins route running are hell for DBs.

The bucs will more than likely draft another tackle in order to drop salary to get under the new cap. An offensive linemen early is almost a lock. If not a tackle, center is a possibility even though Jensen played well. We need to shed salary unfortunately.
