Bruce Arians: “Watch The Learning Curve”

July 2nd, 2019

New golf course chatter

Yes, everybody’s favorite new Buccaneers head coach, Bucco Bruce Arians, was talking football this week.

Tampa Bay’s main man was hosting yet another golf tournament and concert to benefit his family foundation that serves children stuck in the legal system for various reasons.

These are big money events to enter — and to sponsor. For this latest fundraiser, Team Glazer cut a check for a presenting sponsorship that appears to be in $75,000 range. This time, Arians was near his home in rural Georgia and he talked a Georgia Bulldogs media outlet called DawgNation.

You can watch the college-football heavy interview below. Joe found it interesting when Arians talked about working with a young receiving corps. He emphasized that a playcaller must “watch the learning curve” of young receivers to make sure they can play fast and not be overcoached.

The Bucs likely will roll into the season with rookie receiver Scotty Miller, second-year man Justin Watson (1 career catch) and Breshad Perriman (59 career catches) complementing Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

With an offense new to all those young guys, Arians certainly will need to closely monitor how they respond — and how that matches Bryon Leftwich’s play-to-play expectations.

  4. The Buc Realist Says:

after a wasted season in 2019, ole coach stale biscuit will ride off in his golf cart to the sunset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  6. Mr. Lucky Says:

    Dear God,

Please let Bryon Leftwich be a much better coach than a player!

PS I don’t want to watch any statue of Liberty plays, it brings back bad memories…

  7. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Losing Jameis security blanket in humphries is going to be a huge loss and the players that are there on the roster aside from ME are not tested to be difference makers. It will be interesting to see if OJ is used more than TEs in Arians offense have been used to be big time receivers as opposed to just being blockers on the edge or lead blockers on zone plays and traps

  8. Figures Says:

    6-10
    Last place.
Worst QB in the division playing on the worst franchise in the league.

The further up the ladder you go the more stupid people become.

Idiots and limp d$ck fuc§ with money making decisions.

The idiot glazers have ruined one football franchise and from what I understand have ruined another futbol franchise.

I could run this team and the other team better and have more success working part time.

Having money and owning things do not equal success.

I may not be rich but It’s hilarious and good to know that people with a silver spoon in their mouth are nothing but walking afterbirth and do nothing but ruin everything they touch without their daddy around.

Just play monopoly with daddy’s money. Bunch of stupid morons.

Part time on the weekends and I could turn it all around. Why? Because I’m not stupid that’s why. I mean come on two franchises are in the toilet and there’s only one common denominator. The idiot glazer boys. I wish I could have 5 minutes with these idiots. 5-11 in cap hell because of decisions the Glazer boys made. They’re like a wet paper bag full of sh$t. Just falling out everywhere.

  9. Todd Says:

After the Bucs open 6-0, I predict some of you negative types will jujitsu the undefeated series of wins into something that sounds like, “Well, we’ll, WELL…they only won the first game by 3 points which should have been by 14 (lol) and they only won the second game due to the opponents injuries (lmao) and the third game due to bad officiating and, and, and…”

You know who you are. The whole lot of you.

Throw in about a hundred exclamation points and I think that’s a pretty darn good impression if I do say so myself…

  11. Race to 10 Says:

Worst fans in the nfl. Every team changes coordinators on a regular basis. The strength of the team was obviously offense and we have dumb fans thinking losing Humphries will break us in a completely different offense. Yeah hump playing the role of Fitzgerald makes so much sense lol. Keep saying what this team will in 2019 do based on last year, a completely different coaching staff and new schemes. Maybe it will make sense one day.

  12. JimmyJack Says:

Race to 10 so people have a opinion you don’t agree with that makes them dumb? And they are the worse fans in the league because of it?

Given the choice I would say you are the worse fans that will attack his own because they got separate opinions.

I suggest you put your hatted to good use for us all and go troll a Panthers or Falcolons site……But until then get your facts straight. Your are the worst kind of fan of all.

  13. JimmyJack Says:

Actually I’ll put you above realist and the other phonies. Let’s call you second to worst just below the wagon hoppers.

  14. Magadude Says:

@Dusty…good post…we really need Perriman to work out and for Godwin to stay healthy in the slot. Maybe he can be the security blanket needed for Winston…and I hope RoJo learns to catch for the checkdown.

  15. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Damn Figures……

If I didn’t know better, I’d say that you were actually tmax with a new screen name……….
…….after he went to community college for a couple of weeks and got a little education in the English/Spelling department!

  16. Greg Says:

@Figures that was a mouth full and it sounds like you had a rough day! It is obvious the Glazer’s are about making money above winning. I gave up my prime club seats after many years of ownership after that became too apparent. Their Man U situation is mirroring ours. Go Bucs but rough waters with the present ownership!

  17. macabee Says:

The Bucs have a problem at WR. The Bucs have 13 WRs and 10 of them are capable of making a 53 roster. What a nice problem to have!

    WIDE RECEIVERS – 13

    85 Wilson, Jesus (Bobo) WR 5-9 186 24 2 Florida State

  18. Elita Vita Says:

Does anyone know why the Patriots and the Jets both recently cut Xavier Ubosi???

  19. Harry in Costa Rica Says:

Dusththy, IMO, I do think Godwin will easily replace Hump. That is not to take anything away from Hump, just that Godwin is that good. My concern is still the run game, RG and DL. I believe coaching will make a difference, but not to the point most on here think.

Kotter did a great job coaching the offense. Maybe we get a little more out of the RB. But the big area of improvement will be the D

  20. Nick2 Says:

Love to know where this line of “real fans’ the Realist talks about is. Were they the ones saying Fitzmagic is going to save us? Not sure what gives him the power to judge who a real fan is but to me a “real fan” loves the Bucs regardless. Bandwagoners are the ones who jump on and off when it suits them. So jump off Realist us “real fans’ want to be optimistic since we have a two time Coach of the Year and not Raheem or Schiano or Dirk (I should have stayed in Atlanta) Koetter finally coaching up players to their best potential and working with the talent given them rather than Mike Smiths (lay back and let them burn us) defense.
