Koetter Addresses DJax Rumor

October 28th, 2018

Bucs coach speaks on trade rumor.

This morning an NFL Network report claimed Bucs receiver DeSean Jackson had asked for a trade.

Joe has no idea who the source of this rumor is or whether it is based in any degree of fact. But Bucs coach Dirk Koetter weighed in on the rumor at his postgame press conference.

In the waning moments of the somber presser, Koetter was asked if Jackson is frustrated. Koetter suggested Jackson is not alone and added that every playmaker he ever met is frustrated when he doesn’t get the ball and Koetter mentioned that is not surprising.

Responding to a question from Jenna Laine of ESPN, Koetter added, “As far as requesting to be traded, I don’t know anything about that.”

And with that, Koetter ended his press conference.

With Fitz possibly taking over. You can squash that. WR care about one thing, if the guy can throw me a good ball they follow him. Winston is not that guy.

  2. NJBucsFan Says:

He demanded a trade…he was asking for Winston to be traded not himself

  3. Gofortheface30 Says:

In related news – DeSean Jackson is now the happiest man in the locker room and would like to sign a 15 year extension with Winston benched.

  4. Anonymous Says:

Winston’s got to go, stop wasting time coddling him

  5. lambchop Says:

DJax will stay now that Fitzmagic is back. The Winston to DJax TD was an albino tiger sighting. Hard to believe throwing to a wide open WR is THAT difficult and took this long. Well, he won’t have to worry about that throw any more.

If you’re an FSU fan you should be banned. All of you stupid morons. With your blinders on for 4 years of this bullsh#t.

Screw all of you. I can’t believe we had to argue with you idiots with things everyone knew except you nuthuggers.

Rod munch? Oh you gonna hide when your boy falls on his face?
    Ndog? Don’t start backpedaling now.

All of you with your bias finally have to eat crow. Shut up no one wants to hear your excuses and bullsh#t anymore.

    Get to steppin. Kick rocks.

  9. JimmyT Says:

Obviously the criticism after a win and the fans HATRED Jameis is in his head. I feel bad for him, anyone who is happy is not a real fan. BUCS can win w FITZ & Jameis should be 3rd string for the rest of season. He needs to watch and get his head right because today was the worst performance and he lost the game so it’s time to try to win with FITZ w Griffin as a backup.

  10. Kansas95Buc Says:

….keep a 30+ wr and a journey man QBs over a young QB….yea that’s smart. Jameis probably another player that will get traded and win multiple super bowls….whatever happen to scheming to your players strengths? Isn’t that basic coaching 101?

  11. Sweeptheleg Says:

    @kansas95

You are a total moron. Stfu. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Some of you people are just stupid.

  12. TheBucsAnthem Says:

at this point it really doesn’t matter

………the bucs season is headed nowhere fast and DJAX don’t want to go down on another sinking ship

    I applaud DJAX for demanding a trade………

and you know who it all points back to again????? that’s right…..imma say it again………….the bad, inconsistent play of Jameis Winston

Jameis has now become a cancer on the offense and this team just like GMC is a cancer to the defense

CUT THE CANCERS OUT JASON LICHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Bucnjim Says:

So much time and money wasted! I wanted Winston to be the QB for the next 10 years but games are lost by turnovers and the last three years are on him especially the fumbles.

  14. Troy Says:

Well, I for one am blaming Jay Miss’ eye doctor. Had he diagnosed Winston earlier as being completely blind, we wouldn’t be in this mess with Jackson.

  15. ben Says:

Throwing interceptions in a game is NOT a strength you want your qb to have

  16. Sweeptheleg Says:

All you idiots that were talking about playoffs and 10 or 11 wins.

What pair of eyes were you using?

Anyone with a brain knew this was a 6 win team. I told every single one of you that were talking about Winston “balling out” that you were gonna be really disappointed.

    Well BOOM!!

    Told your stupid as sses

  17. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

DJax is sooooo happy that the bearded leprechaun should be named the starter next week. Licht and Koetter should start packing bags. They are toast, like Rod Jones!

  18. Bucs fan #7423 Says:

    sweeptheleg

We threw 4 interceptions, one returned for a TD, and we still only lost be 3 points. You’re the one that’s the idiot. We still have a chance to make the playoffs

  19. Kansas95Buc Says:

    @Sweeptheleg
Instead calling names like a little child, why not come up with some solutions? It’s easy to complain

  20. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Who’s Rod Jones?

  21. Resurrection of Duff Says:

Will Jameis play Santa Claus at the Christmas party?

Jason make some trades before Tuesday please!!!!!!!

  22. Resurrection of Duff Says:

We need to get something out of Jameis.

  23. Resurrection of Duff Says:

Maybe Alvin is a little toast. LOL

  24. Bucanole Says:

I’ll be wearing the Winston jersey as he cruises to a superbowl W with another team. Our organization is a joke. Great oline, dline, run game, pass rush (JPP MVP) secondary. Joke team.

I see you’re a Nole, but hopefully this is a drunk post, because you can’t really say this and be serious when this offense has been built around him, and he’s stockpiled with weapons.

Winston unfortunately has done this to himself. He’s in his head and I just can’t see the Bucs committing $20M to him for next season at this point.

  26. IsrBuc Says:

Vjax knew who should be the starter. That’s all. He’s a vet and dont have time for bucs PR moves. No one should be a playing to audition jw.

  27. Pruritus Ani Says:

Never liked JW but always wanted him to succeed for the sake of the team. I also think JW was forced back on the team in CHI. No way they were going to let someone making that much $ stand around and carry a clipboard. Hope Fitz can succeed and the defense can continue to improve.

  28. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Vjax retired 2 years ago.

  29. SenileSenior Says:

    Trade Winston by the 30th?

Get real! Koetter and Licht hastily trade Winston out of frustration, the light come on for him soon after his gets to his new digs and he goes on to have a superlative career, and end ups with a couple of SB rings elsewhere. Some of you out there would be cussing and cursing them for the rest of your lives.

It’s not going to happen that way.

The “brain trust” has to play this right for the next couple of weeks. After that who knows. They have to figure out what needs to be done to finish this season on the winning side, but do it in a “one game and at a time” mode.

We have a lot of talent. Our guys have toughness and heart! We do have to play well on both of sides of the ball and find a way to do it for four quarters at a time.
    _____________
    Go Bucs!!!!! No excuses!

  30. Bobby M. Says:

These “leaks” to the media have been telling….D-Jax went on record in the offseason stating Winston basically needs to stop trying to impress people and just get the job done….Now he’s come out and stated he wants a trade. D-Jax knows that’s going to create questions….the obvious being about “chemistry” with the QB.

Last week Koetter had another telling moment by letting the media know Winston isn’t running the plays he’s supposed to. I get the sense folks are done faking it for the dude…..they’re aren’t buying what he’s selling. He simply not good. I think Winston works hard, understands Xs and Os, even has some leadership about him but the pro level is about execution and you cant manage the game with a player as inconsistent as Winston. Peoples careers are at stake….incentive bonuses are being flushed down the toilet….folks will have to move their families….Not because they aren’t doing their jobs but because Winston cant keep from turning the ball over nearly every qtr.

  31. Firrrreee Licht Says:

Trade Fitz and DJax to a team for some picks for the incoming GM.

  32. charles Stevens Says:

    If B R I D G E W A T E R is available go get him.

  33. Red Dog Says:

A quarterback every freaking time freaking time every freaking time every freaking time ever freaking freaking time.
Let him develop . Take your time and look at some of the best quarterbacks ever . Look at the stats of their first for five years in the league most of them look like s***.
