Noah Spence, Jordan Whitehead Will Not Play

September 30th, 2018

Nope

It’s been a steady and steep decline for defensive end Noah Spence, who is now ringing the bell atop the “bust meter.”

The third-year defensive end is practicing and healthy but is a scratch for today’s game. Last week, he was active but did not play. Against the Eagles, Spence was deactivated and spent much of the game cheering teammates and coaching up newcomer DE Carl Nassib.

Both Nassib and DE Will Clarke will play today.

The real bad news on the inactive list is rookie safety Jordan Whitehead. His new hamstring injury that popped late-Thursday/Friday will keep him out of the game.

The Bucs will now go very deep on the roster, all the way to safety Isaiah Johnson. You might now him from running into the back-of-the-end-zone wall covering Antonio Brown on Monday, and/or from his dreadful holding call that negated DeSean Jackson’s punt-return touchdown against Pittsburgh.

Man, Joe sure hopes Whitehead can make it back for the Falcons game in two weeks, when the Bucs will see their next monster passing attack.

Hopefully Isaiah Johnson redeems himself today. The opportunity is there Mr Johnson, make it happen.

I feel sick to my stomach now. We were already 32nd in the league in pass defense, can it get any worse?

The future is not looking good for NS57. I had high hopes for him when he was drafted but two shoulder injuries later, I just don’t see him getting his game back.

Our secondary is being tested this year. Way too many injuries. Too many rookies having to step it up with no one behind them for depth. The bye week is coming at the perfect time. Hopefully we can get everyone healed up.

Noah is a 3-4 outside LB, look for Pats to trade a 6th for him, and he goes there and lights it up

This article is as sloppy as they get.

You should be ashamed to put your name on this crap.

Proofread your articles or hire someone that can type.

    Thank you.

What is going on with Noah? We have heard for three seasons what a beast this guy is in practice. He came into camp looking like a superstar. He kept a roster spot over Will Clarke, but now he’s not good enough to keep Clarke off the field?!? This makes ZERO sense to me. Is there something taking place behind the scenes that the fans don’t know about? If he’s so bad, why have we heard so much hype about the guy? If he’s so good, why is he in street clothes while guys that weren’t good enough to make the final 53 are playing!?!

I’ll miss Whitehead but I’m down with Isiah. I do remember him slamming into the wall like a doofus but I also remember thinking that his coverage on that play was very good against a top tier Receiver.

The next man up has been getting the job done for the Bucs so. That’s a great sign!!!!

    GOO BUCS!!!!!!!!

No problem Joe. Scapegoat Smitty’s boys can surely coach him up in these past 3 days to be the second coming of John Lynch. Serious question BTW Joe. If you look at our defensive position groups and all the injuries to starters & key backups, how could any DC get this remaining rag-tag group perform any better than Smitty has against our first 3 opponents? How does a DC compensate for so many glaring weaknesses simultaneously? Really can’t wait to see how this defense performs once everyone is back to 100% & available.

I like Isaiah… Those two plays you reference are EFFORT plays that unfortunately look bad but our POSITIVE in regards to effort… Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a PICK 6 and shake a finger at us….

Wonder what the real story of this is.

  15. NOBUCDEF Says:

typical lack of defense, penalties up the yazoo, 14 points in the 1st quarter by the freaking bears… gee SHOCKER…this game is over… bank on it

I can’t believe what I’m watching!!! For 1 thing is our OFFENSE ain’t producing anything with no running game . 2 our DBS look like there playing high school football but, what really is bothering me is that MIKE SMITH does not know how to adjust his defense and the bears are taking full advantage of that our Defensive coordinator is garbage!!! It looks like I’m watching the Steelers game all over again ! Smh what a waste !!!!

  20. JabooBuc Says:

I have to admit i may have been wrong about Smith and this defense. It’s one thing when your defense is getting beat physically because injuries forced rookies to play. But this that side of the ball looks thoroughly confused and out of place.

Speilman pointed out several times during the telecast that the Bucs seemed confused regarding assignments. That is purely coaching and is inexcusable at this level.
