Vita Vea Is Active Against The Bears!

September 30th, 2018

On Wednesday, Joe asked defensive end Vinny Curry to describe what he’s seen behind the scenes from rookie defensive tackle Vita Vea.

Curry offered a direct response.

“Big beast! That’s quickly how I can sum it up for you,” Curry said.

Well, that big beast, 6-4, 335 pounds, is active and ready to face NFL competition for the first time today in Chicago.

Vea injured his calf in a late-July practice, the first in pads during training camp. It was just a few snaps into the first series. He returned to practice 11 days ago and finally was off “limited” status on Friday.

What will he be able to accomplish against the Bears? We’re going to find out.

Joe will be looking for what Dirk Koetter said he saw this spring, “I’ve seen him left 300-pound men off the ground with one arm,” Koetter said in May.

    First look at Jones?

  5. DRFEELGOOD Says:

Hopefully that pass rush will be all in Trubisky’s girl today. So glad the Bucs were patient and didn’t rush him back. With the bye eeek next week, I assume he’s 100% because if not they would’ve given him that extra time. Just by strength and size he should be a huge upgrade for us, especially needed with a depleted secondary. GO BUCS!!

    yes^

  8. NJBucsFan Says:

  9. Bird Says:

    BIG V!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Defense Rules Says:

@TheBucsAnthem … “GMC…stay away from Vita who???? don’t infect him with your loser cancer mentality.” Anthem, why do you even both tickling the keys to fire off an input? McCoy is tied with Geno Atkins for the most sacks by a DT (41) since 2013. And your accomplishments during that period to call GMC a “loser cancer mentality” are exactly what? For heaven’s sake, let a little positivity creep into your life.

  13. DRFEELGOOD Says:

    NJBucsfan. That’s hilarious!!

No sht. If I was that negative about our 2-1 squad I’d just avoid watching the game and rearrange my sock drawer.

  15. Issaic haggins Says:

Just watched Gerald totally not be involved in pre game speech circle and stay and pray at the 50 as the rest of the team was in the tunnel !!! Attention seeking self centered Nice Guy !!! Please trade to team that needs a nice guy !!!

  16. Buc believer Says:

@Defense rules… yeah and most of those sacks are garbage time sacks when the game is already decided. You would never know it from the way Mr. softie celebrates though. Except if he hit a QB to hard then he cries and helps him up and gives him a big smooch on the boo boo and hugs him.

  17. Buc believer Says:

@Isaac… that is what GMC does EVERY game. He stays on the 50 kneels down so everyone can see him looks up in the sky a points. Same routine every week. Dude LOVES the spotlight.

  18. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Out of all of the things to complain about in this organization, GMC, should be nowhere near the list of things being talked about. He’s been a great buccanneer and is good at his job. There are so many other people to criticize or praise. Pick one of them and have a better take…

Touchdown Bears! To a wide open receiver after Jason Licht draft pick Justin Evans falls down. 6 play drive 39 yard TD. Bears lead 7-0.
