“It’s A Buccaneer Thing”

October 29th, 2017

Talks rotten run game.

This just in: The Bucs’ rushing attack stinks. Again.

The Bucs ran the ball for 85 yards today in a 17-3 loss. Tampa Bay running backs averaged a pedestrian 3.9 yards a carry.

After the game, winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter was asked if the impotent running game is a “Doug Martin thing or an offensive line thing or [an opponent’s] defensive thing.”

Koetter didn’t hesitate. He said it was a “Buccaneers thing.”

And Koetter added if it is something the team struggles with, at the end of the day it is a Koetter thing.

Blah Blah Blah shut up Koetter

  2. playerunknown Says:

    In over his head! #FireKoetter

  3. Wesley Says:

Doug was the one player who played well givin the circumstances.

  4. Quattrolou Says:

Koetter was hired to keep continuity on offense. He hasn’tt done that and Jamies is regressing. I hate the constant coach flipping, but this one needs to happen.

  5. Lamarcus Says:

    Alotta missed blocks and assignments

  6. Doctor Stroud Says:

Coach Koetter is such a breath of fresh air! Yes, he is like a cool Florida Gulf breeze blowing through your car at the highest point of the Skyway Bridge with all of the windows and sunroof wide open on a clear, crisp late October day.

  7. BucTrooper Says:

    This was the game plan.

Do nothing to improve the running game.

Pray Doug Martin returns to form.

    And it failed miserably.

This is on Jason Licht. No one else. We saw what this stable of mediocrity was capable of last year.

  8. MadMax Says:

DE Bradley Chubb! we’ll get him, around 5-7 overall.

  9. Bernie K Says:

    don’t fire koetter

  10. Hodad Says:

Thank god our winning coach, lol, is an offensive genius otherwise we might’ve been shut out. Let’s give Licht some credit here. Even tho he gave up a 3rd, and 4th rounder to move up in the second round for a kicker who couldn’t kick, he did sign one who finally made a F.G.. Nice job meathead.

  11. Architek Says:

Playcalling is terrible and so dead on both sides.

  12. orlbucfan Says:

Koetter needs to sit down and realize what he has bought in 3 years with the offense. The talent is just as good as Dungy developing our SB defense. We lost to a Mike Shula called offense today. That PISSES ME OFF BIG-TIME!!

  13. orlbucfan Says:

    ‘bought’ should be ‘built’.

  14. King C Says:

Wow if only there was something that could have been done in the offseason to address this

  15. Jimmyjack Says:

The results are not important. Of course your not gonna do much in the rush dept when you start the game one dimensional. Martins last few carries were the few that finally started to pay off. Same crap every game. We start out one dimensionally and the time of the game where the running game could make a difference is the same time the scoreboard has us abandon the run.

If your going to let the panthers Dline tee off on us please let me know that’s your plan so I can go fishing

  16. Reverse Joe Says:

Gruden!! Gruden!! Gruden!! Gruden!! Gruden!! Gruden!!

  17. Ben Says:

This team blows asshole. They don’t belong in the NFL. Terrible franchise year after year. Not sure why fans bother. Can’t take a hint no one Evans shows up for games. Can’t believe I waste my time on this joke of a team. Trade everyone and somehow would have the same record. Get a life losers!!!!

  18. Dm4bucs Says:

Joe- Martin was the only rb today that produced anything that even resembled an NFL caliber RB today. Playaction with Rodgers in the game literally fooled nobody on defense today.

  19. Season Is Over Says:

Remember the stat that showed the Glazer’s spent the least amount of money on players from 2004-2011. Koetter doesn’t get to use that excuse.

  20. SOEbuc Says:

Koetter’s running play calls week after week are soo freaking obvious it pisses me off soo much.

  21. Jeffbuc Says:

Yeah the run game sucks because of the run play calling. You bring in two tight ends and run it up the middle. A middle school linebacker would know what the bucs were doing. Jameis is mobile enough to run some read options and have the tight end either of our two great receiving tight ends run out so if jameis keeps it he has a dump off. We will never be able to run the ball until jameis can hit a deep reciever.

  22. Jimmyjack Says:

I once remember Dirk quoted saying how much he disliked the HC giving him a game plan he had to call plays around.

There’s a good reason for that Dirk. Thats because the game plan is more important then your precious playbook that has been averaging 2.2 points(estimate) per first half.

Anybody that thinks this guy knows how to manage a game as a Head Coach needs their head examined.

If he’s dumb play calling today doesn’t convince you then just look at the situation he was left with at halftime…….down 10-0 and getting the ball with 10 seconds and still holding three useless timouts.

This guys hinders our talent every week with his game management and hinders us most weeks with his tired gameplan

  23. Jimmyjack Says:

    BOth today

  24. Jeffbuc Says:

Joe Doug is the best running back on our team. Get over it who ever you think is the best running back in the league couldn’t get yards with this horrible play calling. Line up big every time to do a running play.

  25. Season Is Over Says:

You know you are “at wit’s end” when you blame the wind for your team loss. This is the beginning of the end for Koetter. Imagine Gruden, or any NFL coach, for that matter, blaming the wind for horrible coaching.

  26. Jimmyjack Says:

Yeah season is over…..The Glazers track record is they will spend money when they think the team is close. Their spending from 2011-14 is a direct result of how bad everybody knew they were in those years.

The fact that they opened the wallet for Licht is because they believed, like most of us and the media, that the team was ready to contend.

The Dirk man crush can continue here for the fans in Tampa but I can promise you that the Glazers are not blaming the players

  27. Jeffbuc Says:

4th and 2 at there 40 after giving up and 8:30 drive to the panthers let’s punt it. No carry a big stick and go for it bring some juice to the team if we get or don’t. If you don’t get it the defensive players would be juiced to get the ball back knowing that the coach had faith in them.

  28. Joeypoppems Says:

Nick Chubb, Ronald Jones, Bryce Love, Damien Harris . Get one of these guys in the 2nd round and use our top 10 pick on a pass rusher (Bradley Chubb)

  29. 813bucboi Says:

    Times 🏃 out Dirk!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  30. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I guess we are living in some sort of Football Fantasy land..

    Winning Coach Lovie Smith
    Winning Coach Greg Schiano
    Winning Coach Leeman Bennett

    Winning Coach Dirk Koetter

  31. Season Is Over Says:

Koetter said he doesn’t feel the season is slipping away. I feel better now.

  32. adam from ny Says:

sapp said: gimme 17 points and we will take care of the rest

  33. Joe Says:

Joe Doug is the best running back on our team.

    Which isn’t saying much.

    Hello Saquon Barkley?

  34. rrsrq Says:

I sincerely believe it DM 22 had 99 yards with a quarter to play, DK would take him out of the game (plan). Doug ran well, but once he gets hit in the backfield they go away from it.

  35. LakeLand Says:

    Please Extend Jason Licht Contract

    Sincerely Yours

    New Orleans Saints
    Carolina Panthers
    Atlanta Falcons

  36. Tony from Los Angeles Says:

    This is stupid.

Anyone who watched the game saw the problem today was not Martin. Fine, get another RB – fine. But that isn’t the problem. That LT is the real issue. He’s an abomination that either allows pressure or commits a drive killing penalty.

  37. Not there yet Says:

The countdown had begun and the sun is already setting on your head coaching career. That’s usually what happens when the coach has no answers. We need a big coaching personality because we aren’t drafting players with one

  38. SOEbuc Says:

    @MadMax

“DE Bradley Chubb! we’ll get him, around 5-7 overall”

Be freakin sweet. Trade GMC for high picks and get a top tier DT also, maybe even two. CB in two or three and a big named one in FA.

  39. Joeypoppems Says:

    @SOEbuc

I dont think GMC will be worth a top pick based on:

    A) his performance
    B) his contract

  40. Broy34WantsGruden Says:

Can you guys put up the billboard for Gruden please. Ill Venmo money for it

  41. Broy34WantsGruden Says:

Feel bad for those who think McCoy is getting traded lol. No body wants that contract despite his play. Need an edge rusher through the draft. Overhaul the team leaving only the 27 and youngers in place. Luckily Hargreaves Evans beckwith look good again

  42. Wewantgruden Says:

    Bottom line:
    Jameis Winston Wonderlic score: 27
    Ryan Fitzpatrick Wonderlic score: 48
    Play the smart one.

  43. PRBucFan Says:

“Doug was the one player who played well givin the circumstances.”

Exactly, you know what sucked today? Winston and the passing attack did.

  44. Issic Haggins Says:

Martin had two back to Back runs over 7 yards and they still packed the box on the next play , Nobody in the NFL is worried about Doug Martin !!!

He is a total non factor to a defense and has been for two years ,it’s only the Bucs GM and Staff that think he is relevant……… As I have said for two years now he just isn’t a factor and he can’t catch , any pop wRner coach can figure this out!!!

Oh Ya some dip sht will argue and for you dip sht , how many 100 yard games, td’s and dropped passes does he have over that time………..

Answer………. way more easy easy easy passes dropped than td’s and 100 yard games combined, who for the love of football gods can’t figure this out !!!

Who Knows ; Maybe he was doing Molly’s on Jason Licht skate board !!!!

  45. PRBucFan Says:

oh shut the hell up dude. You know why they stack the box? Because they aren’t afraid of Winston beating them!

  46. SteelStudBuc Says:

Doug Martin did fine! Winston did not. How many yards did he pass for? How many turnovers did he have again. If he doesn’t turn the ball over 3 times maybe they’d run over 100 yrs. Ever think of that? The d played fine today. Doug ran strong… Winston was very very bad today…. again.

  47. Bob in Valrico Says:

did anybody notice that 67 or 68 yards was the best for the RB’s
    Carolina faced to my recollection.

  48. G-Money Says:

I’ve been saying it for a while Bucs fans, I’m not sold on this coaching staff or the GM. Now as a Bucs fan I want them to be successful because I want something to cheer for and as I said, the Glazer’s will “NOT” admit they made yet another mistake, So “GO BUCS” and let’s hope these sorry MF can get it together before we are a laughing stock again!!!!!!

  49. unbelievable Says:

Hmmm, so we put up more rushing yards than any other team against Carolina this year.

But apparently averaging 4 yards per carry is only good if your name isn’t Doug Martin. No bias at all though.

  50. uckinator Says:

2018 draft. The Ucks are drafting 5th this year. 1st round – TRADE UP for the best DE in the draft. 2nd round – Best RB. 3rd round – We gave it away. 4th round – Offensive line. 5th round Defensive back. 6th & 7 th round – Special teams.
