Zero Quarterback Hits For The Bucs

October 29th, 2017

Squeaky clean

One of these days, Joe expects an opposing quarterback to come out and play the Bucs wearing a Speedo.

Who needs shoulder pads when the Bucs can’t hit a QB?

Today against the mighty Panthers offense, which was missing its starting center, Cam Newton dropped back to pass 32 times and the Bucs didn’t hit him once, per ESPN data. No sacks, no hits, not even foul breath in Newton’s face.

It’s laughable at this point. Bucs defensive ends have two sacks through seven games. That’s hard to do. You can get lucky more often than that.

But no hits in an entire game? Zero? That’s just unthinkable.

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, by comparison, was hit seven times.

    yeah…that is what it was….SMF’nH

  2. Mike Johnson Says:

The HARD life of a Bucs fan. It ain’t easy!!!

  3. Jim Says:

Come’on,..the offense, and specifically Jameis, lost this game.

  4. Rrsrq Says:

This was on the whole team, coaching, drafting, offense… we came out flat, we have to get to get better. As good as the defense seemed, Cam still didn’t get dirty in the backfield. Where was O.J. Howard, DM ran the ball pretty god, then there were those plays that everybody knew what the play was, but our o-line couldn’t move anybody backwards. Jameis is just not accurate enough, great stats, great heart but this year with expectations, but it was Hard Knocks

  5. Buc believer Says:

When will you GMC apologizers face the facts??? Your boy does NOTHING!!!!

  6. Tee in Dallas Says:

Defense played better but still a team loss. Lost the field position battle, lost the turnover battle. TOo much talent on this team to play this poorly. The offense is so darn predictable.

  7. AllInOnBucs49 Says:

Is it possible that the seeds for this were planted when the Bucs squandered a second round draft pick on Roberto Aguayo when they had more pressing needs at defense?

  8. Smokeymountainbucfan Says:

Gators fired their coach, Bucs should do the same!!! Winston clearly is hurt, should’ve ran Martin 40 times and maybe we win

  9. BucJ Says:

But Joe, you always stood by Jameis Winston’s side. And you thought I was an idiot for bashing Winston. But then you say “What the hell was that” when Jameis throws an incompletetion. You’re a hippocrite

  10. Jeffbuc Says:

A team regressing this much is all on coaching and management. Fire everyone I am done watching until something happens. And I have been a fan since the 90s. I just can’t keep ruining my sundays getting mad watching this crap. Jameis better not get resigned. If he completed have of his deep passes this year he would have 8 more touchdowns. What good is a qb that can only throw short passes. Defenses are going to start just playing all our receivers one on one. Because he is literally the worse qb at throwing a deep ball at any level of football I have ever seen. Go from should be down 7 with 6 minutes left if you hit a wide open Mike Evans to a pick. I am so mad as much time and money I put into this team to see this horse crap week in and week out. Joe you better blast everyone this week jameis included. Quit defending him.bucs fans shouldn’t even turn the game on until after halftime.

  11. The Buc Realist Says:

That is with the Bucs brining the blitz more often this game!!!! Trade GMC for a 1st and 3rd round pick!!! Bench Ayers and start the rebuild of this D-line!!!!!!!

  12. Ray Rice Says:

Quote of the day…”we have done their last couple of games and he hasn’t given us one reason to call his name.”….#moose

  13. Season Is Over Says:

Funny how the scapegoat “Swaggy” has better game than the Sixteen Million Dollar Man when the Bucs needed it most.

  14. dmatt Says:

Will someone please explain to me the reason koetter continues to wait with five minutes or less left in the game then go to the no huddle as a result of too little too late. Our defense is atrocious r u serious…the entire game no sacks n no pressure on the QB. Why won’t koetter get creative with his receivers better yet just let Jameis run if no ones open he has clear daylight but stand in the pocket too long to get sacked, or pressured which leads to a turnover. I agree Jameis has turned the ball over but the bulk of his issues comes from poor coaching. R weapons for Winston playing in Philadelphia?

  15. Lamarcus Says:

Baker had a good game. Vh3 being the mvp

  16. Lamarcus Says:

I’ll start dumping players now while u can.

  17. Jeffbuc Says:

And if we are lacking talent than Jason licht sucks. Cause he has had an unlimited check book. And multiple drafts. And on he has hit some homer us every team does that but his bad picks are all time horrible. Trade jameis now please before Tuesday. He his the most overrated qb I have ever seen us true bucs fan know that of his 8,000 yards in two years 6,000 have been in the second half against prevent defense. He leads the league in turnovers. And honestly he has cost us more games than he has won us. You ever notice that we only win when he is a game manager. We get him the best deep ball receiver in nfl history. And nada.

  18. Mike Johnson Says:

ALL ABOARD..THE GRUDEN EXPRESS. And hire Dungy as GM or DC.
    ALL ABOARD!!!

  19. LakeLand Says:

There’s only 1 team in the NFC South, with a losing record!

    New Orleans 5-2

    Carolina 5-3

    Atlanta 4-3

    Tampa Bay 2-5

  20. SKBucsFan Says:

We are in a prime position to get a top 5 draft pick. C’mon Licht, start scouting a TE or maybe even a punter. Maybe second time lucky on a kicker? Don’t let the fact that we had zero sacks a few times this season (and last) along with a terrible backfield influence your poor decisions. Stand by your pics and don’t be afraid to make brutal mistakes.

  21. Jeffbuc Says:

If you can’t succeed with all of these weapons you will never succeed.

  22. Jeffbuc Says:

Can we trade Winston for Mariota we can give them are second round pick also.

  23. Onebadbuc Says:

What a horrible performance Bucs must be so proud of the sorry ass offense

  24. DoNUTS Says:

Fans are frustrated. This team is bad. Fans deserve better after all these years of futility. Blame starts with Glazer ownership and trickles all the way down to the underperforming #1 overall pick of the NFL draft.

  25. Season Is Over Says:

Where is the media to chastise the fans again and tell them how “Reactionary” they are?

  26. Jeffbuc Says:

4th and 2 at the 40 defense just gave up a 9 minute drive let’s punt. How about grow a pair go for it send a message go score a touchdown and dirk let the defense know you got there back. When your 2-4 you take some risks. Or I got a good idea let’s use are ultra talented first round pick get the ball in his hands ten times a game. Joe will you start the weekly who we can draft segment so we have some kind of entertainment the rest of the season. Dirk I think you have a great future as an offensive coordinator. But if you want to be a head coach you need to go to college because you are not good at motivating grown men.

  27. nate_tweetz Says:

Offensive line was horrific today. Way too much pressure in Jameis’ face and momentum killing penalties.

  28. LakeLand Says:

Remember Kwon Alexander High School Teammate S Trae Elston

He had 11 Tackles, 8 Solo, INT for the Bills today

    LakeLandBuc Says:
    October 17, 2016 at 11:37 am

Antone Smith will get 1-2 touches a game (max) , nothing to get excited about. I do like the signing of Safety Trae Elston to the practice squad, I thought he was a Top-5 safety in college last season.

    LakeLandBuc Says:
    October 17, 2016 at 11:44 am

Being Kwon Alexander close friend and high school teammate, should help Trae to get this defense down. I like Trae and i’m pulling for him to make it to the active roster.

He was cut a week later

  29. Bucsfan951 Says:

While this is a major problem, the offense lost this game today. Zero qb hits but held the panthers to under 18 points… FACT! Offense only scoring 3 points… FACT! Winston ball placement a major issue… FACT!!!!!! This team is regressing as the season goes on. It’s time to look towards the draft and next season and it’s not even Halloween. Another wasted season 😒

  30. Season Is Over Says:

Stop with the excuses for Mr. Magoo. He was beyond horrible. It is hard to be “America’s Quarterback” when you play so bad your team is only shown in local markets week after week.

  31. Onebadbuc Says:

Apparently we don’t understand how an offense should look, get behind a td or 2 and then let it rip great gameplan dirk how about that play calling there what an offensive genius

  32. Waterboy Says:

Decent day by the defense. They performed better than I expected. Hargreaves and Ryan played well but that offense was bad. There’s too much talent on offense to get held to 3 points in a game. They barely even got into field goal range.

  33. 813bucboi Says:

VHG looked like a#1 pick…. Play to his strength…. Keep him up at the LOS…. Simple as that…. Baker played well too!!!!…. Teams know about the LB blitz and dline stunts…. Smitty gotta bring CB blitz and safety blitz….GO BUCS!!!!

  34. Destinjohnny Says:

While we were drafting kickers Asj
    And 230 pound defensive ends….
    They were drafting badass mf’s

  35. SteelStudBuc Says:

    America’s Last Place Quarterback

  36. Onebadbuc Says:

Bucs fans deserve better than this!

  37. orlbucfan Says:

Give me a break. DK put together the best offense in Bucs history, Mebbe HC is too much for him. Our offense is throttled. He needs to be the OC for this team. We fans deserve it!!

  38. JabooBuc Says:

This is the #1 problem with this team. They create no pressure on opposing QB’s. the worst NFL QB will pick you apart with time. They played better today but Cam still had all day. It’s simply awful.

  39. Jimmyjack Says:

3rd and 1…….3rd and 16. It doesn’t matter. Reguardless of how many hits we get on the QB we have been spotted playing solid defence from time to time.

At the end of the day none of it matters. We don’t make plays when we need to. As, a whole this team has a losers mentality. Despite how we played today we have never been able to play a goal line defence under either Smith. Those are crucial plays in this league. And what happened last week when our defence had a chance to ice it?

    We losers

  40. Buccaneer scotty Says:

It’s the Qb play period fuc@ off Homer joe

  41. JabooBuc Says:

    Buccaneer Scotty is an idiot.

  42. Aerial 11 Says:

Looks like the same problems they had in the pre-season, is the same problems they have now

  43. Edward Currier Says:

    Hay Joe,
the bucs just took the press conference down on there official site Whats Up with that

  44. Buc believer Says:

When oh When will Joe and the rest of the GMC apologizers hold him accountable???? NEVER!!!!

  45. Warrenfb12 Says:

    Wow that’s bad.

  46. Jimmyjack Says:

GMC haters showing up after a three point effort…..That’s rich

  47. Joe Says:

the bucs just took the press conference down on there official site Whats Up with that

No clue. There were no hostilities or bickering or anything untoward.

  48. Buccaneer scotty Says:

Want to see a real qb idiot dumb as@ watch a rookie like Watson hitting all the throws or Wents in his 2nd year kicking as# your all a bunch of a@sholes fooling yourself that he will ever be good!

  49. SOEbuc Says:

Like others are saying I am very happy to see VH3 starting to come along so well. Jameis obviously showed injury today with overthrows, under throws, and picks. I really don’t think this is all that Jameis can accomplish. That’s why I want Gruden because he says he would love to coach Jameis and could definitely make up and call better offensive play calls than Koetter.

  50. denjoe Says:

This GM cannot build a team! It’s obvious!

  51. C-rock Says:

    Just sign Simeon already. Lol

  52. buccochris Says:

I wore my “RICE” #97 jersey today hoping the Buc’s would sign him

  53. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

GM is putrid with his personnel moves but i think its time to trade GMC and DJax and get some pics then fire licht and get a competent GM

  54. JabooBuc Says:

The lack of pass rush talent on this team is truly unbelievable. I replayed most of the passing plays today just to watch the rush and I am not kidding when I say this, you could put a trash can in place of a tackle and we would have a hard time getting around it.

Zero athleticism, zero speed, zero imagination, zero skill. Doesn’t shock me at all that two athletic QBs like Taylor and Newton beat us. A stationary QB would likely get 4 seconds to throw against us. Those two probably add another 2 to 3 seconds and no secondary can cover for that long.

  55. unbelievable Says:

Defense still played pretty good, especially considering they were missing 2 starting corners and have NO pass rush.

The offense decided to do nothing again, although Martin did average over 4 YPC. But I’m sure we will get an article soon that it was somehow Dougs fault.
