Sweezy Still Limited

September 28th, 2017

Thursday injury report released.

Early this afternoon, Bucs guard J.R. Sweezy said he was “good” with a green light to play Sunday against the Giants.

However, Thursday’s injury report for Sweezy remains unchanged from the previous day.

Sweezy, who said he just had tightness in his back, is still listed as limited in practice, just like Wednesday.

There are no real other surprises on the injury report, except that shy, belly shirt-wearing, practice-hating, kicker-heckling, tree-grinding , non-contact-football-loving Swaggy Baker has fully participated in practice for the second consecutive day.

Of course, with Swaggy, “full” participation in practice is a relative term.

snacks Harrison is a beast…sweezy needs to be 100% to tangle with that dude…he’s a grown man….its going to take him and marpet to be at the top of their game….GO BUCS!!!!

I see Gerald Tmaxcon McCoy sacking the inferior Manning numerous times enroute to Manning leaving the game. A Bucs rout will ensue.

  6. Guzzie Says:

It’s starting to look like Jameis can’t carry us, look at last year, and the first 2 games this year, if our defense doesn’t dominate, we get done in by turnovers and penalties, I can’t recall JW winning a shootout

  7. Grt2 Says:

@Guzzie I agree with your statement but this is a game that Jameis must do it.
If he wants to be great he must become great . The stage is set for him to do so. Two talented teams (Giants more so I.m.o.) both against the ropes which QB will rise to victory. This has the opportunity to be a Jameis career statement game. I’ll be cheering him on.

There’s only a few QBs who’ve ever been able to carry a team imo:

    Brady
    Rodgers
    Peyton

Other than that no QB typically can do it for more than a game or 2 max a season. Look at Brees. Elite as hell and a HOFer but he can’t win more than 7 games typically even with good O-line / weapons because the defense has been so bad.

Matt Ryan has had a 4 win season despite being a franchise / elite QB to most. Once you go down the line all the other best QBs had success only when their team was really good (Russel Wilson – dominant defense, Ben Roeth – dominant defense and that pattern continues)

Hell even Brady has typically always had a top 5 or top 10 defense in terms of PPG allowed. Rodgers has probably carried his team the most of anyone and they’re still not bad Packers teams at all.

Winston did single handidly win FSU games by himself tho. And the biggest thing he’s done well so far is be clutch in close games at the end. WHen we have a solid chance to win in the 4th quarter it’s typically worked out with winston. He has 6 game winning drives already compared to 18 for Rodgers. Would have thought Rodgers would have had way more than that actually which was a weird stat to find

His back is healthy enough for him to drive to the bank and count the $12 million that the Bucs have gave him.

Lavonte and Kwon. That hurts so much. I guess I shouldn’t yet again mention that I’m peeved that LD was still in the Vikes game when it was already decided. Whoops, I just did. Grimes full practice is nice to see though. Can’t underestimate how much he was missed last Sunday. With OBJ coming to town, he is sorely needed.

You hit da nail straight on its head there Lakeland Buc!!

All I know is that Michael Jordan the greatest of all time, the unstoppable one, was sidelined and ultimately retired bc of a bad back. Kobe Bryant too.

So if two of the greatest athletes ever couldn’t overcome back injuries what makes us think Sweeney will?

But but Jason Licht said ……smh

Oh and what happened with D. Smith, I thought he was a turnstile?

Anyone who criticizes Jameis and doubts if he is a franchise QB is insane. They didn’t run the ball at all Sunday. He was 18-22 in the second half w 2 picks. What do u want ? U want Carson Palmer because Bruce Arians would die to have Jameis. 26 NFL head coaches would give anything to have him. The Titans had to bring in 2 big time RB’s in order to prop Mariotta up, the Bucs have ZERO running game. Yes he threw three picks, he knows it and he will correct it but NO TEAM can win with no D and no run game. Look at New Orleans. Would u rather have Eli Manning? Give me a break.
