Special Guest Dirk Koetter (Part I); Coach Talks “Stick Carriers,” Fan Impact & Doug Martin

June 22nd, 2017

Winning Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter sat down with Ira and Joe for a casual yet intense conversation about all things Tampa Bay recently. Coach’s takes will be divided into a handful of podcasts this summer, and today is Part 1. Of course, candid Koetter let it rip like only he would, as Joe and Ira peppered him with a great variety of questions. … ZERO summer down time for the booming Ira Kaufman Podcast, as it grows steadily with episodes every Tuesday & Thursday. Listen to Tampa Bay’s only Pro Football Hall of Fame voter by clicking or downloading above, or listen (and subscribe) at iTunes and Podbean.com. It’s free and easy. Enjoy!

    Best one yet!!!

    Good job guys!!!

I’m surprise Lee didn’t address “the den of depression” lol

    Go Bucs!!!

  2. macabee Says:

Yes. Good podcast! Stick Carriers unite! Re Doug Martin, I still think if he has a good camp and preseason, they will wait for him. Other RBs may be available if the run game stumbles – Matt Jones wants out of the Redskins and T.J. Yeldon/Jags may be available just to name a few. Like Koetter said “too many hypotheticals”.

  3. macabee Says:

Side note! If RB Devonta Freeman keeps talking in Atlanta, he may be available. Now wouldn’t that be a shot of FSU irony? lol.

  4. Joe Says:

    Thanks guys!

  5. Tampa Tony Says:

    Ira “Scream their nuts off”

    I’m stealing this

    Great podcast today guys!

Can we hear more about Steve and Raheem almost coming to blows in the parking lot????

    please 🙂

Not going to happen. Maybe on the 10-year anniversary of the event, when it’s less raw.–Joe

  9. Dlavid Says:

That story about the Lovie coaching staff showing motivational movies instead of breaking down film, and players having to get together on their own time, is truly astounding if true. Wow.

  12. unbelievable Says:

    So about 4 more years?

OK I can wait that long Joe, I’m a Bucs fan.

  13. Joe Says:

Side note! If RB Devonta Freeman keeps talking in Atlanta, he may be available. Now wouldn’t that be a shot of FSU irony?

    Ha! 🙂

Let me start by saying I’ve never been to a JoeBucsFan / Commish event. But I’m starting to get a little nervous about this ‘stick carrier’ movement you guys keep harping on. I hope somewhere down the line you tell your readers / listeners stick carrier events are meant to be non-violent. I can only imagine an overly excitable Buc fan taking the stick carrier metaphor literally and showing up at one of these events with a “Raider Nation” attitude and a baseball bat in hand. The rhetoric being used on your website, words like ‘takeover’ ‘unleash’ ‘explode’ coupled with the encouragement for Buc fans to drink themselves into a stupor at these events…’Drink like F**king champs’ is the phrase I’ve heard, it’s a bad combination. imo

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Fans tend to forget the ‘Speak Softly” part of “Carry a Big Stick.”

  16. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I realize Joe spoke against violence…but Tampa fans are not smart. This whole Stick Carrier thing should be more about filling seats and yelling loudly, not attacking people.
