Now here’s a good reason why the Buccaneers offense should look a lot different in Houston on Sunday.
Mike Evans might have returned to the lineup with a healing hamstring against the Saints, but he wasn’t really 100 percent back.
Not only was Evans only playing two-thirds of the snaps, there was no game plan for utilizing the Bucs’ most dangerous receiving weapon.
“You know, I’m in the game plan now,” Evans said of preparing for the Texans this week. “Last week, I wasn’t even in the game plan. Yeah, we didn’t know if I was playing our not. So we was just winging it Sunday.”
That’s a telling nugget there. First, it shows how Evans’ hamstring really wasn’t in good shape leading up to the Saints game. Second, it lets you know how a seasoned coordinator like Dirk Koetter has no problem adjusting on the fly. Third, look how comfortable Jameis Winston was “winging it” on the road — in his second career game.
Joe suspects Marcus Arroyo would have crumbled, and Josh McCown would have cried.

This is a blunder on the Bucs! Not in the game plan? What if we had lost the Saints game? To me this is inexcusable, they knew he might play in that game. To me there’s no real for your best WR not to be in the game plan, practice or not! Go Bucs!

I also want to see Evans catch some passes without further injury. I can’t recall him making any catches in the Titans loss either. He may of missed that game, doh. The Bucs major receiving weapon is sorely missed.

Some fans are just jackasses. The dude has had a hampered hamstring for like 6 weeks now. He didn’t catch a ball in 2 meaningless preseason games and that gets some fans thinking he’s a one year wonder or he needs to put up or shut up.
I swear this kind of STUPID talk only happens in the TB area. Or is it just bitching to bitch? I think perhaps it’s just that.
When you become a Buc fan they should send you Bitch Card with your very first ticket purchase, just to make it official.

Now if evans can just finish a route and stay in bounds, he might be ready to dominate again.
I Love what evans can bring to this team. But he does get lazy from time to time. And he is constantly looking for a flag. It seems every pass thrown his way he is looking for a flag. He needs to man up and fight through contact. The bucs cant afford to trust a ref to make a call in favor of us. It just doesn’t happen.

You guys know darn well McCoy isn’t going to play. If that dude gets a paper cut he’s out for 4-6 weeks. Truthfully I think McDonald and Melton will do just fine. Oh and btw I found it interesting that Jac Smith got his last sack in the 4th while McCoy was out of the game. According to the expert Smith is only good bc of the magnificence of McCoy. The experts must have forgot to tell the rest of the dline. McDonald is the real leader of the dline and the team knows it. Remember the captains vote was real close? Translation McCoy lost the vote to Micky D.
