Describing Jameis Winston

No. 34 overall pick, Bucs left tackle Donovan Smith.

Joe spent quality, 1-on-1 time with the No. 34 overall draft pick, Donovan Smith, last week.

One topic was America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

Joe asked Smith what he would tell a fan who asked what Jameis is like.

Smith’s first description? “Great motivator.”

That realty surprised Joe. That’s not the typical response, and surely not the answer fellow rookies and teammates would have given about 2009 and 2013 Bucs rookie quarterbacks Josh Freeman and Mike Glennon.

Smith said Jameis specifically motivates him via a never-wavering positive attitude. And Smith said, on a grander scale, Jameis motivates rookies and the entire team in the way he’s fearless of making mistakes. Jameis lives with them and builds on them, Smith said.

That take reminded Joe of Alterraun Verner praising Jameis’ response to his errors last week.

On eventually getting first-team reps with the Bucs’ offensive line, Smith said he’s “very hungry” for that to eventually happen. For those new to the alleged left tackle competition, second-year man Kevin Pamphile ran with the first team through the spring.

I don’t think there will be much of a completion between smith and anyone to be honest much less pamphile.

Referring to Joe as a he/she because you don’t like this site gets you run for Crimes Against Joe. You’ve whined and b!tched enough, you model of masculinity. Feel free to start up your own site as you threatened — in your own words — “for real men.” You won’t get near the traffic Pewter Report gets much less Joe’s traffic. But knock yourself out.

    See ya.

    Surprising?

    Nah… That’s how he’s always been described.
0 reason why that would change now.

  8. PRBucFan Says:

After all, he isn’t anything like our prior starting QB’s.

Our most important issue this season will be our both our lines, but mainly our offensive line. I hope D.Smiths confidence and help from the veterans will brim him to his best. I hope Ali can fill in too. Both were picked for their athletic ability. And he posted high scores at the combine. These 2 guys are OBVIOUSLY the 2 lineman Lovie n Licht wanted. I’m glad D. Dotson is back. I think it’s a shame we couldn’t find a top DE in free agency or through what was supposed to be a deep draft at. But I believe jaquise smith and our DT unit /rotation as well as our LB corp will be a to 5-10 in the nfl. As for J. Winston. JuSt protect the ball. You’ve got 3 6’5 great targets in Jackson, Evans, and Safari-Jenkins . Bell looks to be a major steal so our 3 wide and 4 wide including murphy looks wild. I’d our line can gel I believe Martin will get over 1000yrds and sims will get 500 rushing 500 receiving. We’re gonna go 9-7 or 10-6, go Bucs!!!
