Tuna Talking To Saints

March 26th, 2012

Joe’s really getting a laugh from credible reports that Bill Parcells is about to have a sit-down with pariah Sean Payton about taking the Saints head coaching job for 2012, while Payton sits home wondering why he flushed $8 million down the toilet as a leader of BountyGate.

Now Joe’s not about to call 70-year-old Parcells an old bag that hasn’t coached in six years or won a playoff game since the 1990s. The man will land his bust in Canton one day. And after all, Joe would not have cried if Marty Chokenheimer had been named Bucs head coach.

But Parcells is very much a coach that leads through the intimidation and fear that comes with being a supreme ruler of a franchise. So what exactly are Saints players going to fear when they know Payton is returning the following season and is probably calling shots from a secret cell phone to begin with?

Joe’s confident a Tuna takeover in New Orleans would do a great job deflecting Bountygate distractions but little for the Saints on the field. Joe’s not worried about what Parcells landing in the division would mean for the Bucs in 2012.

This isn’t related to Bucs news at all. The HS team the Saints will field this year and whomever coaches them means nothing to us.

  4. Eric Says:

    I’d be worried.

    Very worried.

  5. Eric Says:

Oh yea Parcells, that pushover. And Brees and company on offense.

    Noooooooooooooooo problem.

If his pants get any higher, he will need to unzip them to see where he is going…

Man I hope this plays out. T-r-a-i-n w-r-e-c-k.

Plus it’d be “Jap Attack” Parcells on one side, that royal douche canoe Mike Smith of the dirty birds on the other, and the filthy Panthers to round it out.

This year’s NFC South will be a hard hittin’ war, late 90’s-early 2000’s style.

Bill Parcells is an old Sean Payton mentor. During the 2002 seaon of the New York Giants, Payton was relieved of his play-calling duties by then HC Jim Fassel. He would have been fired if Parcells had not stepped in and hired him away as QB coach of the Dallas Cowboys. In 2005, Parcells promoted him to Asst. HC/Passing Game Coordinator. In 2006, He became the HC for the NO Saints.

The two men go back a long way. Payton trust Parcells to do a good job and more importantly, remain loyal and keep Payton’s job safe without any threat of replacing him!

Been a long time since the TUNA has actually done something in this league as a coach, not too worried about it. Either way nothing we can do about it.

  12. Matthew Says:

Bill Parcells is one of the most overrated gas bags in regards to other legit coaching legends. His best years were not 5 or 10 years but DECADES ago. I’d love for him to go to the Saints and wreck their fun & gun explosive offense. Couldn’t ask for a better turd to take down a division rival from the inside.

  13. Pete Dutcher Says:

I hope it happens. I never thought we would get a chance at playback on Tuna.

Really? Who cares who coaches the Saints? At least they have a real quarterback and not a whole cast of toolbags…most of these guys on the Tampa roster would make up the New Orleans practice squad.

Have fun with Eric Wright..watch him get burnt 5 times a game

  15. Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

The Saints are done, even if Vince Lombardi comes back from the grave to coach them.
Tampa and Carolina will become the teams to beat in the NFC South.
