Fearless Lovie

February 18th, 2015

Bucs coach Lovie Smith made waves this morning when he told Joe and assembled media that Jameis Winston’s off-field antics and issues are something the head coach is comfortable accepting.

Later, appearing on “The Opening Drive,” with co-hosts Booger McFarland and Bob Papa, heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Lovie shared a little differently why, thus far, the Bucs have not been scared off by Winston’s off-field question marks.

  1. Mr. Patrick Says:

Lovie is really trying to drive up the price of that #1 pick without giving anything away. Smoke

  2. Phillip Says:

Yep someone go back in time and find me one time where a Coach with the number one pick said nah he’s off our draft board or we don’t like his talent..

But wait the Glazers signed off on it… Again same thing

But wait the GM signd off on it as well… Once again same thing..

I hope we do draft a QB (Mariota or Hundley in the second) or we go after Ryan Mallet.. Idc if he’s played very limited let him and Glennon duke it out and go get a solid veteran QB backing them up if you decide to go the Williams or trade down route.

  3. lion Says:

Mr. Patrick you are clearly in denial sir.

  4. lion Says:

Jeeze Phillip.. Ryan Mallet or Hundley? Dude you are seriously clueless. Wow. All I can say to that one.

  5. Pickgrin Says:

Patrick – at some point you will have to accept the fact that Winston is very likely to be the Bucs QB. The deeper you continue to dig in against that – the harder it will be and the sillier you will look if/when it happens. If I was you – I’d be back peddling a bit from from your persistent and overly prolific daily anti-Winston campaign.

  6. lord cornelius Says:

    @Phillip

You’re right. But Lovie/Light/etc easily could have easily made a more neutral comment about Winston’s off the field transgressions; like “Everything will have to be taken into consideration but right now we haven’t taken anyone off the board” vs downplaying his off the field behavior; and saying he was exonerated through the legal system.

  7. bucrightoff Says:

When Lovie gets Leonard Williams up close and sees some of the things that get him the JJ Watt comparisons, do you really think he’s going to be able to pass on that? To have a potentially dominant interior line for 10+ years? Remember, he cannot be involved in a drafted QB, whereas he’ll be heavily involved in Williams. I think people really want to believe Lovie has changed, but everything he’s done so far says otherwise. This will be no different. Easy sell too, taking by far the best player in the draft is not a hard sell at all.

  8. lion Says:

I agree Pickgrin. Also, this whole excuse of smoke screens and double speak needs to be thrown out the window right now. It is completely false. When you have the number one pick there is no use for smoke screens and misleading fans or other teams. You have the number one pick for goodness sake.

There is absolutely no need for trying to “trick” or “confuse” other teams with what you are planning to do with the pick, and trying to do so would just be a waste of time and energy. Lovie and Licht don’t need to focus on what other teams are doing.

Trust me they are spending their time evaluating both QBs and have not a care in the world what other teams are doing because there is no way any
team can move in front of them at this point. So all the fans that in denial about Winston most likely being choice at this point in time need to get over it and stop trying to make pointless excuses to make yourself feel better.

  9. Eric Says:

“That was a blessing, to meet a guy like that,” Winston said. “It was just an honor to meet him and all of his accomplishments and the type of coach that he is. I wish I could have played for him.”

    Jameis on Harbaugh.

Whatever small mistakes he made in college he is a good kid.

Tampa Bay will be very lucky to get him.

    Go Jaboo.

  10. Dan Says:

you do smoke screens incase one of the qbs has an accident, and suddenly you have to pick the other one, you want to be able to do it without looking like that qb was your 2nd choice

  11. Mr. Patrick Says:

    @ Pick
I don’t have to backpeddele on anything.
I am a Bucs fan over anything else and only want what is best for the team overall. I think Winston is a terrible pick for them on and off the field and I’ll stick by that.
If they do decide to draft Winston I will still be a Bucs fan and support them regardless and hope they do everything possible to help him be successful.
I will be interested to see though how many of the die-hard Winston supporters can say the same if he is not the guy the Bucs pick at #1

  12. Eric Says:

If Lovie is OK with Jameis before actually meeting him, I’m not a bit worried.

Those two will get along like two peas in a pod.

  13. lion Says:

    Bucrightoff,

Thanks for bringing up another completely idiotic point. They aren’t drafting Williams either so get over it. Texans have J.J. Wat, who is 100x better than Williams at this point in time and they still can’t make the playoffs. Do you know why? Let’s see… hmmm… It’s because they don’t have a quarterback buddy. How many times have the Bucs used high picks on pass rushers in the last decade plus? Never worked before so dont’ expect it to somehow be the magic potion now. In today’s NFL, you can’t win if you don’t have a franchise quarterback, plain and simple. No if’s, and’s, or but’s about it. Thanks for bringing up another fallacy.

  14. Erik with CleanAthletics.com Says:

Guaranteed L & L like Mariota more than Winston. Who in their right mind wouldn’t?

College football guru Charles Davis said this morning that he’d take Mariota over Winston. Just like any other wise person would.

  15. Bucs#1 Says:

Call the fire department. Smoke everywhere. “Mike Glennon is our QB moving forward”, “We are excited about Mike Glennon’s future with our team”

  16. Erik with CleanAthletics.com Says:

Winston brings alot of baggage with him. Plus, he’s black…. Who in their right would want a black QB?!? #throwintheidiotsabone

  17. lion Says:

    @Erik

Charles Davis is the only so called expert anywhere that prefers Mariota. So by your logic Winston should be the choice, because for every one Davis there are nice other experts that say Winston is the better pro prospect.

    Nice try.

  18. Eric Says:

    Who wouldn’t?

The vast majority of football folks who have spoken on the subject.

And very likely 31 of the 32 teams if given the choice. The Eagles the only possible exception.

No one trusts the inflated Oregon QB numbers. Hasn’t worked in the pros yet.

    Go Jaboo.

  19. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

    Mr. Patrick-

I have yet to see a single Winston supporter say that they will stop being Bucs fans if Winston isn’t drafted, that they will never buy a ticket another ticket or spend another dime on merchandise.

Can you say the same thing about the Winston HATERS and how they will react if the Bucs do draft Jameis?

  20. lion Says:

    @Erik

So now you are being a racist? After hearing that is all I need to hear to discredit you. A comment like that just shows that you clearly lack any sort of intelligence. You should be banned from the site for being a racist pig. There is no need for that garbage here.

  21. Mr. Patrick Says:

    @ Erik
Mocks mean absolutely nothing. Look how many draft gurus had Johnny Manziel coming to the Bucs at #7 last year right up until draft day. The only mock that has any beaing on anyting is the one that is in Lovie or Licht’s office

  22. mikeh Says:

JABOO! WTF KINDA NAME IS THAT! and you go Patrick! because bozo #5 is not a sure bet. I hope not anyway!

  23. iamkingsu Says:

The Winston hate on all the posts are hilarious and sad at the same time. None of you know him personally so how can you have this much hate for someone you don’t know?? When we draft him at number 1 do us all a favor and find another franchise to be a fan of. You’ll are the ones with the real character concerns!

  24. Mr. Patrick Says:

    @ Cream
Yep, because most of your so-called Winston Haters also know that he is a horrible pick for them
Just keep in mind that all of the people that know he’s a bad pick here are not Winston Haters, just Buc lovers

  25. Phillip Says:

    @Lion

Clearly you didn’t watch Mallet when he started for the Texans and idk the kid sat behind Tom Brady for 3 or 4 years.. Or he was a top QB prospect in his draft aside from his off the field issues which there hasn’t been any since college.. Hundley came out a year early but the kid has all the tools in the world to be a starting NFL QB it’s whether he can develop a better pocket presence

Also you clearly can’t read.. IF they don’t go MARIOTA 1st overall is also in that comment… Think before you decide to type moron.

  26. mikeh Says:

lovie took mccown a career backup and paid him 5 mil a year what makes you think he wants to start a rookie. he needs to win now not in two years. don’t see it!

  27. lord cornelius Says:

Mocks mean a lot when it comes to the #1 pick. 87s point about that is valid. They usually nail that pick. In general they typically are close on the top 5 as well but the order is usually off

  28. Please Says:

I think Erik was being sarcastic

  29. Mr. Patrick Says:

    @ Kingsu
That goes both ways. The Winston supporters have never met him or spent time with him or know what kind of a person he really is or how he spends his spare time etc. They just support him for their own reasons

  30. Phillip Says:

    @Lord Cornelius

You don’t make half interested comments if you are even thinking about trading the pick.. You don’t seem fully on board with him then it doesn’t drive up the price.. Really that simple

Did you forget all the praise Manziel(and the other QB’s) was getting from Lovie before last years draft? You go full blown fan boy style for the player regardless if you plan on drafting them or not..

  31. Mr. Patrick Says:

When Manning and Leaf came out, almost all mocks had Colts taking Leaf at #1. There were already Colts Leaf jersies being printed

  32. Pickgrin Says:

I will be interested to see though how many of the die-hard Winston supporters can say the same if he is not the guy the Bucs pick at #1.

    ———————————————————————————

So if the Bucs do pick Winston – will you support the player? The QB for your Buccaneers? Or will you be constantly ragging on him and jumping all over any mistake he makes his whole career? Its an important and valid question.

And to answer yours – I don’t know if I’m a “die hard” Winston supporter or not – but he is definitely my preference by a wide margin over Mariota.

My viewpoint is that we HAVE to take a QB considering the lack of talent we currently have at the position and with the #1 pick we have our choice of 2 good QBs who are both legit franchise QB prospects from a talent stand point.

If Winston had chosen not to come out out this year – then I would be very happy to be getting the talent level that Mariota brings. Marcus is a good QB and will likely have a good NFL career. I just happen to feel that Winston has the type of talent rarely seen. A once every 10 years on average type of QB talent. I see him coming into the League and having every bit the ability and success that Andrew Luck has had so far. Time will tell of course.

If for whatever reason Winston does not get chosen by the Bucs – I will accept the decision makers decision and concede that they had a lot more info to work with than I – and did what they felt was best for the Franchise. And if they pick Mariota at #1 instead of Winston – I will be glad we got a QB and support the choice and the player 100%.

Can you say the same Patrick?

  33. jfat Says:

@lion – Way to take that bone and gobble it up.

I want Mariota, accept Winston. I will not call him Jaboo though, bury that nickname right next to muscle hamster.

  34. carlstoe Says:

So Lovie doesn’t have a problem with liars, thieves and vandals? If you believe this, did you believe when supported Mattress? When Revis had a place on his defense? How much he likes Manziel? I could sell some swamp land!

  35. mikeh Says:

pickgrin- I agree we do need a QB just don’t see lovie picking a QB maybe a free agent QB but don’t see him wanting a rookie QB not after 2-14 maybe you never know! they may force him to.

  36. Lion Says:

Phillips your are the moron if you think Hundley and Mallet are better than Winston,so clearly it is you who is the moron here.

    ___________________________________________________________

Remember when Tom Brady should have retired after week 4 last year and Garappolo needed to start ASAP? Remember how Russell Wilson had literally one of the worst playoff games ever before the miracle? Remember how mediocre Joe Flacco is every regular season? Aaron Rodgers and Peyton are great but….Eli has as many Super Bowls as they do combined.

When you read in depth about these QBs, the only reason either of them is going in the top 10 is desperation. They are both extremely flawed prospects with a lot of work to do. Lovie doesn’t have time to wait for them. Leonard Williams commanded triple teams in college at times. I think he makes an immediate impact, and there’s the key, he helps Lovie win quickly (and save his job). Mariota or Winston might not even play next year, which obviously doesn’t help Lovie in any way. And for their long term success, they shouldn’t see the field next year anyways. But again, how does that help Lovie, the man who will make the pick?

Football is a team game, not a QB game despite what you’ve been conned into thinking (which is NBA star system logic, thanks Goodell). Do you think Russell Wilson is more than 5% of the reason for Seattle’s success the last two years? Marshawn Lycnh is at least 4 times as valuable than Wilson. Team game, and the Bucs are horrible and years from contending. That’s the most disturbing part of the draft a QB folks, that they think it changes everything and makes the Bucs on the righteous path. Not even close, and thinking otherwise is why this franchise is a dumpster fire in the first place.

  38. Lion Says:

Either way sarcasm and racism don’t mix very well.

  39. Mr. Patrick Says:

    @ Pick
Yep. I also ragged on McCown this year lol, but I still wanted him and the Bucs to do well

  40. Lion Says:

Sorry Bucit is going to be a QB whether you like it or not, so get over it and accept it. If you want we can place a heavy wager on it if like. All that nonsense you just said is just that, nonsense. It’s 100% going to be Winston or Mariota, just accept it.

  41. Skyline Crew Says:

If you want to go to the Superbowl you take Mariota. Seahawks, Eagles, and other spread offenses have proven that the spread works in the NFL. Majority of snaps came from the shotgun in the playoffs. Also, Wilson almost had 900 yds rushing this year. 849 yds. He had more than a majority of RBs in the league. So don’t tell me it doesn’t work. Also, the Seahawks should be 2x Superbowl Champs if not for the dumb playcall and great defensive play. Eagles won 10 games off the offense and would have won more if Foles was healthy. The Spread attack works.

Also, please save your breath from trying to explain how a read option spread is different from a spread.

  42. TDBucs2002 Says:

If information and reports are true, there is no way we take Winston 1st overall. If he has character issues, and there is a good chance he does, you avoid this guy. Remember, a leopard can’t change its spots. We can’t afford to miss on this guy. Mariota seems like everything you want from a character standpoint…and if you don’t think his skill set/decision making abilities equate him developing into a franchise QB, you trade down for additional picks, and fill other areas of need.

  43. Phillip Says:

    Lion Says:

Phillips your are the moron if you think Hundley and Mallet are better than Winston,so clearly it is you who is the moron here.

LOL okay first your comment alone should end that debate… Second did I ONCE say that? I personally don’t think Winston will be anything more than a poor man’s version of Big Ben(and that’s not a bad thing) and have stated that many times.. But the reason I don’t want to draft the kid is because of SEVEN off the field incidents that have happened.. I DON’T care if he’s found “innocent” in all of them either, he isn’t innocent of putting himself into those situations to begin with. He can be the worlds greatest QB but doesn’t mean anything if he isn’t on the field playing those games and proving it..

  44. Mr. Patrick Says:

I am glad though that Lovie changed his tune and admitted that the Bucs coming off 2-14 need a lot of players. That sounds a lot better than him saying that the Bucs are on the verge or Licht saying they are only 1 or 2 players away

  45. Jack Says:

Of course, Coach Smith said this about Winston or any prospect.

  46. iamkingsu Says:

    @patrick
I’m sick of saying this but look at the last 3 teams that picked number 1 and were 2-14. They finished Playoffs, playoffs, and a 9 win team that started 3 quarterbacks respectively the following year. It’s parody in the NFL

  47. Nybucsfan Says:

Deep down no one likes a rapist

  48. Broy34 Says:

Bucs#1 nobody said Glennon is our QB mlving forward. Lovie actually said he’s a part of the future when asked if he’s the franchise QB. Meaning he’s not. Awwww people think Glennon is our future. Thats a cute and funny notion.

  49. ddneast Says:

Bucrightoff, as good as JJ Watt is, I didn’t see the Texans in the playoffs. Defense wins championships, but the offense is what gets you there.
As much as I hate to admit it, without a B plus QB, you will be one and done in the playoffs. See the Cinncinatti Bengals.

  50. Mr. Patrick Says:

    @ Kingsu
And a lot of good work in fre agency.
I love that cycles change with teams. However there are some teams that are always near the top, and some that are always near the bottom. Just think of Jacksonville and Tennessee. They have been bottom dwellers for quite some time but people forget that they were continually in the playoffs for a while and met in the AFC Championship game that the Titans won and went on to the Superbowl only to lose to the Rams, who had just beaten the Bucs in that NFC Championship game that still gives us all nightmares. Even the Bucs won a Superbowl but now can’t seem to get out of the celler.
Teams just have to figure out a way to operate their program to where they are winning consistant every year

  51. ddneast Says:

Bucrightoff, you do make valid points about both QB’s. I’ not sure either one is worth the first pick in the draft.

  52. MarshallU Says:

Broy34, actually Lovie did say that this morning he said “Mike Glennon is still on our roster for a reason. At this point he is our QB going forward”

  53. Mr. Patrick Says:

    @ ddneast
    Agreed

  54. John Says:

I think if we put an O-line in front of Glennon people will see he will be a really good QB in this league. We might need some competition just to push him. If we draft. QB 1st overall it might hurt us down the road. Trade back for more picks.

  55. JSmalls Says:

‘When Manning and Leaf came out, almost all mocks had Colts taking Leaf at #1. There were already Colts Leaf jersies being printed’

    Link?

  56. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    @phillip

Would you have supported drafting Mallett with the cocaine red flags?

  57. BK Says:

Patrick nailed it in first post>>>>SMOKE<<<<

  58. knuckledragger Says:

I still can’t get over one grown man calling another grown man Jaboo. Just too feminine for my taste.

  59. Skyline Crew Says:

At this time last year the mocks had the Texans taking Bortles or Bridgewater. Only after the combine and FA did they have them taking Clowney.

  60. Skyline Crew Says:

I was listening to Mad Dog Sports on Sirius and they were discussing what Lovie had said. They mentioned that there were 3 teams who reportedly had taken Winston off their boards due to his off field issues. I’m sure those were teams that don’t need a QB though.

  61. White Tiger Says:

I listened to Lovie’s comments…I have to tell you …reminded me of a Tony Dungy press conference: “How to hold a press conference, yet reveal nothing everyone didn’t already know…”

Despite the naive expectations of some goofballs on this board – No NFL head coach will EVER say something derogatory about a college player that the player/players agent could be held accountable for – should his comments be construed to have caused the player to slide down the draft board?

I kind of think the NFL has implemented some rules about that kind of thing…not that Lovie would need rules to keep his communication professional and non-specific..

If you’re hoping this is yet another indication that Kid Fameis is “THE” pick…sorry.

In the immortal words of Inigo Montoya: “I do not think it means what you think it means…”

  62. 87ForWinstonNOMariota Says:

Mocks mean everything when it comes to the first overall pick. They usually get them right. Period.

So far Winston is leading 9-3 over Mariota in mock drafts for the first pick overall being our beloved Bucs.

You can hold out hope though if you like….

In the end it’s going to be Winston and rightly so I might add. Bring on the combine!

  63. 87ForWinstonNOMariota Says:

Oh and that 9-3 lead does not include White Tiger’s mock draft either. So that would make it a 9-4 lead. Then we can throw in Mr Patrick’s too. Making it a 9-5 lead. Skyline’s of course. Yes throw in his mock pick. Then it’s 9-6…

    Getting closer now….

Ha ha ha ha hilarious every one of you.

  64. Skyline Crew Says:

Like I said Mocks this time last year had Bortles and Bridgewater at #1. Things can change like they did last year.

  65. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

I thought you were great in American Beauty

  66. BoJim Says:

    Skyline Crew Says:

If you want to go to the Superbowl you take Mariota. Seahawks, Eagles, and other spread offenses have proven that the spread works in the NFL.
    _________________________________________________________

The Eagles went to the SB?

    __________________________________________________________

No one knows who will be drafted cept the guys that are drafted. I really don’t care who we draft as long as Glennon starts. Koetter will do him good.

  67. mikeh Says:

mr. Patrick- you may be right about lovie driving up the price just read a story on nfl.com eagles are saying they will do whatever it takes to land mariota. I can see a ricky Williams type deal.

  68. ADown88 Says:

L&L said almost exactly what all the “Winston Apologists” have been saying this entire time, he was never charged with anything serious, so we can’t put that one thing on him… everything else was immature, but doesn’t mean he is a bad kid.

In my eyes, L&L started the Jameis PR campaign today. In fact, I think it was fairly clear.

After we draft him, they will say pretty much the same thing… Also, adding that they spoke with numerous people who raved about how great of a person he is and how is glowing personality is infectious. Not to mention, all of the great things on the field that they will praise him for, his strong work ethic and love for the game of football.

Can’t wait for this man to be our QB.

  69. Eric Says:

Lovie did say it will become an obvious decision as to which player will lead our franchise and team out of the cellar.

That doesn’t sound like he is talking about a DE.

    Quarterbacks are normally the leaders.

    Go Jaboo.

  70. Michael Duggan Says:

And what would you expect him to say at this point? Means absolutely nothing,

  71. Eric Says:

    @aDown88

    Agree.

It’s pretty clear where they are headed.

Notice they qualify everything about Glennon with “at this time”.

  72. mikeh Says:

bla bla bla that’s all it is at this point he is not going to say sh*t about what there doing they want everybody to think this or that bla bla bla!!!

  73. ADown88 Says:

Just saying, they did not shy away from answering how they felt about the character concerns and off the field issues. In fact, it was more like they were attacking the questions head on and openly discrediting them. They could have easily just said, “we are going to look into all of the issues and determine if any of it should be a concern to our organization.” But they obviously didn’t do that… At all.

  74. Eric Says:

Blah blah blah is all we got.

Pretty huge for Jameis that Lovie went into a long discussion about how he had been cleared and that is a closed issue.

I’m sure the Glazers have been in on that discussion.

I’d feel real good if I were 5.

  75. mikeh Says:

yes lovie also said they are not done looking into his past its not like its a wrap no need to worry. if you listen to him again he said they will continue looking into and at both QBs.

  76. Eric Says:

The character concerns off the table it comes down to who has the physical attributes to play QB in the NFL.

    That answer is obvious.

  77. mikeh Says:

ya eric you hear what you want to hear! ya done deal! please! what did you think lovie would say um no we don’t like him he is trouble. this same crap goes on every year with every coach and gm and players. don’t believe everything you hear.

  78. Yungry Says:

    Lovie,

“Going back to the part where you say Marcus’ game doesn’t translate to the NFL, I’m not a part of that group,’’ Smith said. “And the reason I say that is he’s big, he’s strong, he’s got a strong arm. And all of the throws that (an NFL) quarterback has to make, I think we’ve seen him make those throws. He’s athletic. He can buy time with his feet.
“And then there’s (the small) amount of interceptions he’s thrown (14 in three full college seasons).

  79. mikeh Says:

obvious mariota and others just stay home! LMFAO. WOW!!!!!

  80. mikeh Says:

YEP! a lot better than the pick machine Winston. that’s for sure.

  81. Eric Says:

    Yeah suuuuuuure he is.

Painfully obvious that Jameis is the pick. It all falls in line with the reports from those in the know that the Glazer’s approved it.

Couple that with Lovie’s unequivical defense of Jameis.

But I suppose the haters can hate a few more weeks. And beyond.

The rest of us will look forward to Mr. Winston taking the field.

  82. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

    Amen Eric… Amen.

  83. Phillip Says:

Sorry 7 off the field incidents do not equate to one drug charge… Good try FSU fanboy

  84. Phillip Says:

Once again common sense doesn’t come into play with the Winston apologists or the FSU fanboys..

I would fire Lovie on the spot if I were the Glazers if he came out and said they don’t like Winston or are not comfortable with the team drafting him first overall..

First off if that were to happen that just screams whoever wants him start your talks with the Titans IMMEDIATELY and bypass the Bucs..

Not saying the Bucs trade the pick but man if CLE came calling with them 2 1st’s and another 1st next year along with a 2nd I’d be listening. But if Lovie, Licht, or the Glazers said the negative stuff about Winston any chance of a trade would be gone if the team wanted him.

Also, what advantage does that give the Bucs if they were to announce that? We are clearly desperate for a QB as of this posting(before FA).. Sure lets just give it away that we are gonna take Mariota so he doesn’t have to do anything but work out privately for us and doesn’t have to work as hard.. Makes absolutely no sense.. The competition between Mariota and Winston right now is gonna drive them both to be better players as it is a privilege to go first overall. If you don’t think they are competing to be the 1st pick then put down the crack pipe as well..

I seem to remember the Colts still doing their due diligence on RGIII when they came out a few years ago and never once said ANYTHING that would lead them to only drafting Luck or not drafting RGIII. Everyone knew it but that still didn’t make them say it publicly or anything disparaging about RGIII.

Also did the same thing with Manning and Leaf..

Seriously you can want Winston in Tampa badly but those statements by Lovie, Licht, and the Glazers don’t mean sh!t at the end of the day.. He might even be the 1st pick by the Bucs but these statements are not an endorsement at all. Smoke screens people, there hasn’t even been a face to face interview yet!! The Bucs are gonna continue to talk up all the top talent till that day just incase that crazy trade offer comes across Licht’s desk..

    Once again use common sense..

    7?

Ah a goobervile resident comes up with seven off field incidences.

    Hilarious.

  86. Eric Says:

Licht said they have done a lot of background work and watched every play these two made on film.

They favor one but won’t reveal who.

You guys can cry about all the “off field issues,”, but Lovie has said he has reviewed them and has no problem with Jameis being the face of the franchise.

    Get used to it.

  87. White Tiger Says:

Hmm…you want an interesting read? Do some research on Bajakian…

Specifically on OC/QB coach his preferred style of offense (“up tempo, no huddle”) at:Tennessee, Cincinnati, and Central Michigan…

There’s one QB in this draft that mastered the fastest up-tempo, no huddle offense in college football…at the University of Oregon.

I’m even more convinced it’s going to be Mariota now.

  88. Jacko101 Says:

Everyone has an opinion, I just don’t believe we go Winston #1. I see is drafting Williams and somehow getting Hundley late in round 1. He will give the keys to Glennon until he loses them to Hundley.

Been there done that weeks ago…keep doing your research.

Sorry 7 off the field incidents do not equate to one drug charge… Good try FSU fanboy”

7? LOL!! You just lap up whatever the media tells you, don’t you?

  91. mikeh Says:

you mean like eric and all you other bonehead Winston lovers! the way you people talk when the media says this or that! its a done deal. NOT!!!!!!!!

  92. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Well one thing is for certain QB is the choice these folks appear to be eyeing. After hearing Jason Lictht comment on them having a favorite out of two I believe the whole trade down or take a defensive takle should be put to rest people.

  93. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

We support WINSton(rightfully so becsuse he’s flat out the best choice for our beloved team)and do it while making comments that dont appear anger filled. Some of you mariota supporters (mikeh and the like) seem to get frustrated about us voicing our opinion. To qoute the wise words of Richard Sherman”You Mad Bro”…

  94. White Tiger Says:

@87 – if you did any research, you’d realize that ANY interest in Kid Fameis…is just a smokescreen.

(P.S., reading old copies of Garnett & Gold doesn’t actually count as “research”)
