Unfair To Be Patient

Jason Licht said Bucs fans shouldn’t have to suffer much longer.

Bucs fans have suffered going on 12 years since the Bucs’ last playoff win. That’s just incredible in this day and age. Bucs fans are impatient, understandably so.

And Bucs general manager Jason Licht understands this.

He doesn’t blame fans whatsoever. That’s part of the reason why the Bucs jumped into the free agent pool two weeks ago with the same speed and enthusiasm Joe would display if Rachel Watson, replete with a minimal string bikini, invited Joe for a midnight swim.

That’s the word from Bucs multimedia type Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com, likely live from the NFL Owners meetings today in Orlando.

@ScottSBucs: GM Jason Licht says the team thought it would be unfair to ask fans to be patient, thus the aggressive approach in free agency.

Joe is pretty sure the angst of the fans was only onereason Licht and coach Lovie Smith were so aggressive in free agency. No one is more impatient with the playoff drought more than Team Glazer.

Joe is pretty confident L&L, when they were hired, were told how tired Team Glazer was of the lack of playoff wins, and the time was now to turn the franchise around. Or they too might be looking for work elsewhere in the not-so-distant future.

More like time to turn it around (Ownership) or Sell the Organization to Edward J. DeBartolo, Jr. in the near future.

NFC is absolutely brutal. Even with all the moves, at best, the Bucs are the 3rd best team in their own division. Then you remember the NFC West has 4 playoff caliber teams and the NFC North has 3 playoff caliber teams and all of a sudden the road to the playoffs becomes very difficult.

I still don’t think the Bucs are a playoff team, and it has almost nothing to do with them. The NFC is just that loaded. Are the Bucs better? Guess we’ll see but on paper I suppose (like that matters). But the Bucs are still 3 levels, at least, below a Seattle or San Francisco.

Err… Team Glazer is the principal reason we are in this situation.

    BucRight.

Dungy ball is back with the Tedford twist. Hard to say how we’ll look this year.
At least there will be less drama at OBP.

I was a bears fan and now a bucs fan. From the outside looking in I would like the overhual to continue by trading Vjax for a mid round pick this year and high pick next year, keep mike williams for this year then draft two wide receivers two O lineman and a quarterback (in any order) this year. Go through your growing pains this seasons and let the D hit it’s stride by the 5th game while the O hits their’s by game 8.

I honestly believe we are a better team. Hated to lose Revis, but we did get much better on paper. With some more depth, I think it’s a playoff run team. I understand we don’t know Tedford’s offense, but it’s gotta be better then what we’ve seen in past years. And even without Revis, the D looks much better

Joe has a much better shot of bedding Rachel Watson.

As long as Mccown is our starting QB there is no reason to get excited about this football team. And if Glennon was the starter I would feel the same way. After all the change and turnover during this rebuilding season we still have no answer at QB. I hope the draft competently deals with this looming concern.

    @Joe

You probably already have all I know. If not her, at least a few chic’s that bear a close resemblance.

The bucs will split with the teams in their division and beat the bears 4-3. I don’t know your entire schedule but they will go 1-4 in the afc, total 5-7. win at least two games you think they should lose 7-7 and lose a game you think they should win 7-8. The bucs will be .500 or better this season or a game better and your franchise qb comes next year with a trade up. your o-line is straight by then as-well-as your wr, defense and special teams. you will need your qb and a power rb in 2015, it sounds easy but it is a good recipe and that is the way your team is being built as far as I can see.

    Remember this Glazer’s quote: “Think long-term and we’ll think long-term. think short-term and we’ll think short-term”

I don’t believe any of Joe’s Rachel Watson talk anymore. We all know his heart is with Johnny Fruitball. Every mention of Rachel Watson makes me believe Joe is hiding something, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Anybody who thinks next year the team with the first pick will give up their shot at a franchise QB and let us just trade up is kidding themselves, or pulling for Watkins, and Winston says he is staying at FSU for TWO years! You better take the best QB at 7 this year dreamers or you are not likely to win a SB again without a super QB–Lovie can tell you all about it first hand!!! There are just too many strongly built and well coached teams with fantastic QBs in the NFL now, but Lovie, Licht, and Tedford can get there if they take a QB at 7. Mark my words. I knew Schiano was walking right into a losing season last year before he lost his first game. Ask any member of PR who followed my posts last season.
