Bucs Defense = Lethal Finishers

December 5th, 2016
Bucs rising may be the norm.

Stunning data

Numbers can lie, but these are so outstanding they cannot be denied or twisted.

First, for those unaware, JoeBucsFan.com is the only local outlet employing three dudes covering the Bucs full-time. One of those gentleman is Tampa Bay’s only voter for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, iconic eye-RAH! Kaufman.

Yes, Ira was wooed with other offers after the demise of The Tampa Tribune, but he chose JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters, where Ira does whatever the hell he wants whenever he wants to do it. Plus, Ira liked that Joe offered the biggest possible audience and the respect of movers and shakers across the NFL and at One Buc Palace.

Ira pens his “10 Takeaways” after every game, and there’s a hell of a nugget in yesterday’s offering — a simple but telling one.

*A young team is supposed to wilt in crunch time, not flourish. In the past four games, Tampa Bay owns a cumulative 25-7 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter. And by the way, until Sunday’s comeback, the Bucs had lost 40 of their previous 45 games when trailing after three quarters.

Think about that for a minute.

Through the past four games, this four-game winning streak, the Bucs have allowed just seven fourth-quarter points.

That is pure dominance. And it goes to what Warren Sapp said last week about this Bucs defense “choking out” teams and elite quarterbacks.

Closing games is a sign of a legitimate, mature defense, one that can advance in the playoffs.

Great teams finish. The Bucs defense is doing that.

Seven points. Wow!

When the Messiah speaks the team BELIEVES!

All playing as one. With this mentality we are always in the game with a chance to win.

  2. tmaxcon Says:

    Joe,

Picture should have BEEN the real finisher Winston not a player who shows up only for a few games a year… But hey thanks for using that pic it took care of my constipation

  3. NutterBuccer Says:

Wow another McCoy hater….guys got 7 sacks on the season and is clearly missed when he’s not in, and is heralded by opposing teams week in and week out as a top DT in the league…..yet he continues to be hated on by his own….@ joe I say block every single McCoy hater because any one of them is truly not a real bucs fan and doesn’t know what he means to this team and organization.

    GMC ROCKS!!!

  5. Bucsfan951 Says:

Us west coast fans tried to pack Qualcomm as best as we can and be as loud as we could be… Now we challenge YOU guys to go to ray j and pack it as full as YOU can and be as loud as YOU can be!!!

  6. rayjay1122 Says:

I think another first for the Bucs is that this is the first season that they have ever won 2 regular season games in California in the same season. Great times to be a Bucs fan. Things are getting fun again.

  7. tmaxcon Says:

Gmc is a good part time player nothing more. Ayers is driving the resurgence of D. gmc is just going for the ride and benefitting from true leadership on the defense

  8. Walter Says:

Oh shut the hell up tmaxcon, you sound like an idiot when you say things like that. McCoy’s headed for another pro bowl, where will Ayers be??? Oh, that’s right, sitting on his couch, wishing he could make as much of an impact as McCoy.

  9. rayjay1122 Says:

Some posers errr posters on here literally must be the most miserable people in the universe. I can be negative and critical as anyone when this team is playing poorly and losing but for there to be any negativity after a 4 game winning streak against mostly winning teams and being very much in the playoff hunt just blows my mind. To the negative Nancy folks, try to enjoy this and quit picking apart every little Fing thing that is less than perfect! Jeesh!!! The only negative stuff we should be hearing about is injuries and that is what it is…part of the game.

  10. bucsnation Says:

to all the haters out there…just follow jamies lead..be as one, lets us all cheer for our beloved BUCS as one

  11. softastissueMcCoy93 Says:

    @Nutter
I never hated McCoy, just his play on the field. If you can’t tell he is playing with more passion, I don’t know what to tell you. He shedding blocks better, he is using power moves to set up his speed. His play has been really impressive.

  12. softastissueMcCoy93 Says:

McCoy is the classic Good Cop he always needed a veteran dog on the line with him. Man, I wished Jac Smith didn’t go down, Smith McCoy, Ayers, Spence on passing downs would have been hell.

  13. DB55 Says:

    Tmax

GMC had another signature game. #Rejoice

  14. 813bucboi Says:

cant see how anyone can still hate on GMC…..that’s just like me saying dirk=jim tomsula…lol….GO BUCS!!!!

  15. Pickgrin Says:

all it takes is a picture for the McCoy bashers to step up and spew their ridiculous nonsense.

tmax and DB – you guys and a handful of similarly obtuse and vocal others are just simply hopeless.

If you can’t see that this team has benefited greatly from McCoy’s presence in all but 5 games over the last 5 years – then you either need lasix surgery or a blind man’s cane.

  16. Bucsfanman Says:

Once again great TEAM win! Everybody’s doing their part, and it shows.
Don’t get lured into the “haters” conversation. It speaks for itself.

  17. Shannon "Chief" Cherry Says:

Gerald McCoy leads all DT’s in the NFL this year in sacks and creates havoc that makes opportunities for our other great DLs… So much ignorance…

  18. DB55 Says:

    Not today Satan, not today.

1 1st qrt sack, 0 tackles, 0 assts, gets manhandled on goal line, gives up the booty goalline TD straight thru his gap. Straight manhandled 1v1. . Not even on the field during our biggest def play.

No possible way we can win without him. Psssft. I’ll take Eric Berry trade all day everyday.

  19. Caleb Says:

Tandy makes the play of the day! Many of you prior to this week were hating on Tandy saying things like: “there’s a reason he’s not a starter” or “he can’t fill the void left by Conte” ect… All I have to say is, what tune are you singing today? Lol. Anyway, Go Bucs!

  20. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Lmao

  21. Bucsfanman Says:

Don’t go down that road DB55. Let it be what it is: A great TEAM win!
Hint: TEAM includes EVERYONE, that means GMC too. Let it be. Please, for once.

  22. Mojiska Says:

DB, don’t you think berry plays well in part because of their front 7? It all starts up front.

  23. DB55 Says:

    Bucsfan

No doubt I was trying to be nice but they wanna start ish.

I am basking in the glow of our QB and savior. #Rejoice

  24. DB55 Says:

Berry out scored 3 NFL teams by himself yesterday. He was responsible for 8 points. That’s just crazy. If I can’t have Mark Barron I needs me some Eric Berry por favor gracias mucho.

  25. Bucsfanman Says:

Amen! Some just can’t be happy unless they’re startin’!
I tell you what, it is actually an enjoyable experience of late watching this D create havoc! Love it!

  26. Bucsfanman Says:

Ditto on Berry! He’d look good in pewter. Just saying!

  27. Pickgrin Says:

I agree about Berry. Would not be at all opposed to showing him the $$$$$$ in free agency.

GMC is not going anywhere, anytime soon – so you “bashers” (more accurate than ‘haters’) might as well just get used to liking Ice Cream…

  28. NewTampaChris Says:

I wasn’t in the locker room but can only assume that the team made some adjustment to take away the Melvin Gordon check down route. It killed us in the first half but nice to see an in-game fix. Kudos to the coaching staff and/or players for a great change.
