LeGarrette Blount “Leader” In Physical Attack

December 6th, 2011

Disturbing news is coming out about an incident where Bucs running back LeGarrette Blount is alleged to have been involved after the Bucs’ loss to Detroit Sept. 11, per Mark Puente of the St. Petersburg Times.

According to the police report, a man and his girlfriend, both wearing Bucs shirts, drove their 2008 Toyota pickup into the Visconti at International Drive apartments not far from Raymond James Stadium. The pickup then hit the mirror on a silver 2005 Ford Expedition, next to which Blount and two other men were standing. The victim did not want to stop next to the Expedition because the pickup would block other traffic. The three men got into the Expedition and drove around the pickup, cutting it off.

The three men got out of the Expedition. One of them “reached in and punched (the pickup driver) several times on his eye, nose and jaw,” according to the report. The victim “realized a second male was on his hood and was jumping onto his windshield and ultimately shattering the glass.”

The victim said the third man “was the leader and directed the actions of the other two.”

Blount was not charged in the incident. Per the article, Blount was said to have not been cooperative with police. Blount also refused to comment to the Times.

If Blount is not charged, Joe doesn’t know if this is a big deal or not.

    Not good.

Scary. Break a guys jaw over a mirror? Had to be wired shut???? Cornered the car in the parking lot?

Thats sick, and if Blount directed it id kick his ass off my team.

Whats with these idiot? Get to play a kids game for a very good living, and then get involved in something like this. What a dumb ass.

  3. Meh Says:

    sigh

  4. bucsman27 Says:

Blount:”aww hell no he hit my car! lets get him”

  5. Miracle Says:

So the guy hits a car and then runs. Uses an excuses that he doesn’t want to block traffic. Gets beat up. Recognizes the guy who isn’t attacking him as a NFL player. Sees an opportunity for revenge/money and calls him the leader of the fight.

After all, we all know that you have clear perception, hearing and comprehension of surroundings when you are getting the mess beat out of you..

Here is a missing point in the story. The guys in the Expedition had to get into the car and drive in order to catch the truck. This means that they had to drive away in order to catch this guy.

There is no call for beating someone up when the law will be on your side, but this sounds more like a bitter man after getting beat up in front of a pretty girl.

  6. OAR Says:

    miracle
Come on! How do you know she is pretty?

  7. Meh Says:

It doesn’t matter if it was a hit and run or not. You don’t just beat a guy to a pulp over minor property damage. It isn’t right, it isn’t legal, and it is grade-A dumb.

  8. bucsman27 Says:

i agree with miracle this is probably a lie

  9. OAR Says:

Seriously, so you are saying the two other men, neither of which own the Expedition, felt they would take matters into their own hands?
BTW this dude took a swing at another player this year during a game! For some reason he didn’t get drafted, hmm what was that reason?

  10. Meh Says:

If it’s a lie why isn’t Blount cooperating with the police?

I have no idea either way, but this doesn’t scream lie to me.

  11. Theodore Says:

Good for Blount. True leaders are leaders both on and off the field.

  12. plbuc Says:

I’ve said it before, this is not a likable team full of marginal characters. Forgetting the win/loss record, this team has a particular stench to it like no other Bucs team. No leadership, passion, pride, or desire. It’s clear all they play for is a paycheck and they have no sense of community or duty to franchise or fans. The fans have a long way to go before there exists a glimmer of hope. It boggles the mind that with so many background checks and other ways to measure character, the Bucs reeled in so many idiots over a 2-3 draft, FA period. CLEAN HOUSE ASAP!!!

  13. OAR Says:

He’s not the sharpest tool in Lowe’s, let alone the shed!
Glad one of them didnt have a gun!

  14. bucsman27 Says:

@meh we all know blounts history he doesnt need help knocking someone out im think someone hit his friends car they wednt after and he just stayed out of it and he doesnt want his friends to get in trouble so he kept his mouth shut

  15. OAR Says:

    bucsman
Why did Blounts sister call the insurance company to claim a hit-and-run, if it was the other guys SUV?

  16. OAR Says:

She told them Blount was driving the SUV.

  17. McBuc Says:

I wonder why the guy really did not stop?

  18. Meh Says:

It was his sister’s SUV. And despite claiming Blount directed the attack the victim (a bucs fan) declined to press charges and apparently hasn’t pursued a civil suit either.

Sorry, this doesn’t sound like a lie at all.

  19. bucsman27 Says:

i didnt ever read that far into the article my mistake…but i still do believe he stayed out of it. if he really did lead them why isnt he pressing charges on him too?

  20. Nick Says:

    this is bogus as hell

  21. Patrick Says:

    The Tampa Bay Thuganeers

  22. Eric Says:

At least the idiot didnt talk to the police. Most of the time morons like this blab a complete taped confession.

I still go back to his bahavior in college when the guy hit him. He acted like a freaking possesed animal. Kinda like the guy in Madmax who they had to chain up before the battles.

Sorry, but imo this guy is just a miserable excuse for a human being.

  23. knucknbuc Says:

Idk about this one story seems kinda fishy to me. So dude is in a parking lot side swipes a mirror off while 3 ppl are standing in front of it then keeps driving because He doesn’t want to hold up traffic? Sounds like a hit and run to me. Then the fact that blount and his boys had to get in the car and cut this guy off to stop him? Doesn’t sound normal to me. He notices while getting beaten that the guy pointing and yelling orders to the other 2 is a “wrestler or football player” Uhm don’t you think that you would be worried about the person punching you in your face? or the guy doing bellyflops on your hood first? Idk about you guys but if I hit a car in the parking lot and 3 guys are standing next to it im going to stop traffic or not. Stories got alot of holes in it. Gotta say it was dumb for Blount to even get out the car tho if this is all true. Even Aquib Talib would say what the he– are you doing.

  24. Nick Says:

and how do you just sideswipe a car? He didn’t report it then because it would’ve been a DUI with property damage against him

  25. NunPuncher Says:

    What would Derrick Brooks do?

  26. bucsman27 Says:

Aqib talib would pistol whip him (Allegedly)

  27. jvato24 Says:

Who the F*** does bellyflops on the hood of a truck .. lol ??

  28. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Miserable excuse for a human being? Possibly jumping to conclusions? Aren’t you a lawyer? Learn all the facts before you go full drama queen Eric.

  29. Miracle Says:

People point to Blount’s past as a evidence against him when it should be the other way around.

Blount apparantly is a hit first think later kind of person. Someone who ‘directs’ other people have to have some kind of control over their emotions which people who punch others on football fields lack.

Even according to the victim, Blount did not punch him but ‘direct’ what others said? Sounds sketchy based on Blount’s past of wanting to be in the middle of the action 🙂

Why would Blount cooperate with the police? He’s a highly scrutinized individual in a very public role. He knows that people will be against him so its best for him to wait for his lawyer.

Was it the right action? No… but it makes sense.

At best, you have to say the only thing that LGB needs to do is make new friends.

  30. Burg Says:

The fact that this didn’t go any where with the Leo’s says a lot, this is probably just now hitting press because a civil suit may be in the works.

  31. McBuc Says:

Maybe if Olson would hand him the ball 30 times a game he would not have any aggresion left, or maybe he would just be nice and tired. Charge him or drop it. Give Blount the ball!

  32. bucsman27 Says:

why is this story just now getting out anyway if it happened in september

  33. Dew Says:

Blount’s probably angry cause he’s not getting enough carries. 🙂

  34. McBuc Says:

    Dew…He should be!

  35. K2theSodier Says:

Trent Richardson can book his ticket to Tampa. See ya Blount. (If true).

  36. OAR Says:

    jvato24
I think he was attempting a Triple Lindy and not a belly flop!

  37. NashVegas Ryan Says:

If the Bucs lose out then they have a shot at Trent Richardson!!! I am not a Bama fan but man he is a stud! Not aware of him having any problems at Bama.

  38. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I don’t know about you, but when I’m getting slapped around by two guys, I probably wouldn’t pay too much attention to the guy directing them. I doubt I would be able to hear him anyway, since according to the report his girlfriend was frantically screaming next to him. Wouldn’t it be kinda hard to hear what someone outside the carbwould be saying? Sounds fishy, but according to some, he’s guilty. That worked out well with Mile Will too didn’t it? Oh wait, maybe not.

  39. bizzle Says:

    blount… go the f___ home.

  40. OAR Says:

    bucsman
Probably the same reason we didnt hear about Freeman’s gun/cutting accident til monthes later.

  41. bucsman27 Says:

@OAR true but it seems like something more serious would be hard to keep quiet for almost 3 months

  42. Eric Says:

    totally worthless waste of skin.

  43. nano Says:

The victim said Blount didn”t do anything on the report!!!!
It’s like it never happen per our justice system.
I guess he shouldn’t run from the scene of an accident.

  44. Bobby Says:

This whole thing sounds fishy to me. This happened after the Detroit game and it’s just now newsworthy? Who knows what really happened but if the police didn’t see fit to charge Blount then who are we to convict him with the little to no evidence this article presents? If something more than this comes to light that’s different but this is nothing to rush to judgement about.
I’m not even a big Blount fan. I think he runs hard when he wants to which isn’t near often enough. I’d rather see a guy like Trent Richardson on the team but Blount could be amazing if he quit stopping at the line looking for a hole instead of making a hole with his power and picking up whatever positive yards he can get. Maybe he believes Aaron Rodgers and thinks he’s arrived.

  45. bucsman27 Says:

just start calling him bam bam…he likes to hit things

  46. OAR Says:

I just dont know. Why would they go and beat the guy up or smash his pick-up, knowing he’s going to have seven years of bad luck ahead of him?

  47. FIRE RAH! Says:

I’m so about to sell my buc gear and go back to my child hood team. This team is young and mislead. It is only going to get worse if someone doesn’t hit the brakes and turn this ship around soon. Being surrounded by 49er, raider and charger fans really sucks right now. Oh well atleast I get more done on Sundays right now since my tv is off around third quarter. Go Bucs! Ehh nevermind.

  48. Niko (The Optimist) Says:

This sums it up. We don’t know what happened, the police report has things in it that are missing from the article. No charges were filed. Period. Next game please.

Because we all know if blount gets into a fight, he’s knocking someone the F*&^ out!

  49. Niko (The Optimist) Says:

Oh, and everyone who wants to bail ship, let me help you off the bandwagon you got on last year. Goodbye, put on some other teams colors, we don’t want you, I don’t care if I’m the only one at the stadium. Besides, no one who complains as much as I hear on the boards has any season tickets. If anyone really wants to fire Raheem Morris after 6 games, you never really were a real Bucs fan anyways.

Your Joe Montana 49ers underwear should still be in your closet somewhere.

  50. K2theSoldier Says:

    Well put Niko!

  51. Xanadude Says:

Sounds like an attempted hit and run to me. Think Blount and friends had the right to the beatdown.

  52. FIRE RAH! Says:

Niko that was stupid. I’ve been reading this site for a few years and don’t quite recall your name. I became a buc fan in 97 after the bucs pounded my at the time team. Since then I have loved the bucs even in the 09 season. Sorry but the koolaid is getting real sour these days. I don’t want an old washed up coach or high price guys. I just want this team to get back to the high class type of organized ball it used to be.

  53. Thomas 2.2 Says:

Niko: if rah stays, you will get your wish because noone believes that this tram can be competitive with this completely lost and clueless head coach.

Obviously, it is very hard to be this bad. I love how the remaining 2 Rah loyalist who were predicting a 11-13 win season all now have reversed field to say we have no talent. Lol

Well I guess the drafts havent been too good ie Free then, the trades i.e. Winslow, the free agent additions Jones, DJ, Black, Koenen etc. Rah is partially responsible for the draft picks and totally responsible for their development.

If as a head coach you inherit any team, and three years later they are what this team is, you should be fired immediately – not to mention what has become of this once passionate fan base. Rah (due to the Glazers) has dismantled our once esteemed franchise. Sad

  54. Patrick Says:

If Blount gets into serious trouble and we get rid of him, then I’ve lost full confidence in this team in just about every way. How much more disappointment can we take with our team constantly?
