Tristan Wirfs sounded like a Buccaneers fan after today’s blowout beatdown of the Panthers.
Buccaneers running backs ran 45 times for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The running game was relentless. Ironically, it was exactly what the Bucs tried to do on 10 days rest at Carolina last season to seal a playoff berth in December.
It wasn’t enough in 2025. It was more than enough today — after Carolina added a bunch of defensive firepower in the offseason.
“We want to lead from the front. We want it to be on our shoulders,” Wirfs said of the offensive line on the 97.9 FM (98 Rock) postgame show. ” … It doesn’t have to be so hard … Trying our best, busting our balls, came out on top today.”
Wirfs sure is right about how the Bucs offensive shouldn’t have to struggle like it has. They have too talent for that.
Was today a sign the run game can carry the Bucs alongside a strong defense? The mountain is high. The next plateau is Sunday against Atlanta.

Well, to me, it was an absolutely stunning win
The Panthers had to know the Bucs were going to run the ball and the Panthers simply could not stop them, much less score the ball when they had the ball
It was a beautiful day here in PA today and I had a lot fun doing other things besides following and watching the Bucs, however it was refreshing to see the Bucs have an easy win today against what I thought was a good or at least solid Panther team!!!
The only fly in the ointment was the Falcons breaking the tie and winning against the 49ers, but other than that, it was a terrific day!

Imagine, if you will, Todd Bowles returning as head coach next year… because that is exactly what will happen if we win the division, even if it’s a cesspool division.
Who wants that? We’re not going anywhere this year, but if we win the division (and Bowles returns) we can count on the same frustrations again next year. And zero progress towards a championship.

green bay hosts carolina thursday night on a short week…
we host atlanta…
saints are off on their bye…
if we win and carolina goes into green bay and loses, the division will be looking super tight in the standings…
go figure…

He’s absolutely right but they have been killing us to this point with penalties. So like my dad said if you want to play the fiddle you better learn how to pay the piper! Go Bucs! Just figure it out. I don’t give a hoots how we win we just want to WIN baby!

If they win the division after the s show of the last 8 months or whatever it was – should he be back? Maybe. I will wait to see what the playoffs look like. If they make the playoffs and get wrecked so they don’t look like they belong there? Then no.
This was only the second win of the season so, lets not get carried away. There is a long, long way to go before we get there. Even thinking about that is frankly, more than a little crazy.
I will tell you one thing though. It will be a cold, cold day in hell before I root against the Bucs just so I can be proven right.

Great game, and I hope Todd Bowles enjoys the victory, but it takes away from the fact that he should be fired for Too Little Too Late. He’ll go back to “We have to coach it better” shortly.

Look whether we win or lose I never wanted Bowels and in my opinion is the soul reason we have lost as many games in the past few seasons. Reason we lost Mike! But at the end of the day I will celebrate victory! I will take the fact that sometimes it just takes time to figure out a winning formula. But yes win or lose Bowels has been the main and only reason this team has not performed. Great talent no coaching. Prove me wrong coach. Go Bucs! Always will be there for you!

How about a little love for ZRob? It’s nice to talk about pounding the ball and ramming it down their throats, but without a lot of variety of players, plays, and schemes, you don’t get far in the NFL. Not to mention the sequence and timing of plays. Our OC kept them off balance all day, including judicious, if sparing use of the forward pass. He’s taken a lot of heat, partly because of his predecessor’s failure; but as a new coordinator for this team, he seems to be coming to grips with the potential of the players and the vulnerabilities of our opponents.

Excellent game plan. And the zone scheme finally was clicking. The right side with Mauch and Chuky was incredible. I’d trade Goedeke and his giant stupid helmet for a 3rd, Chuky can do the job better at 1/10th of the price

Skunk, I guess what you have to answer is if you were in charge, how would you approach this? If the players don’t play to win then they play to do what exactly? Seriously, how would this thing work for you? Because you keep suggesting losing is good. None of us want Bowles back as coach. But yet we want our team to do well. Yes, it’s a conundrum. But I’ll take a big bucs win anytime.

Zac is not off the hook but he was smart in getting Godwin some touches.
Godwin is underutilized and actually a good runner. I can see Gainwell becoming
a Rachaad White with short passes that he takes for 7-8 yard runs.

Skunkape how much do you know about post season football ? Cause the Bucs game today is how most teams win in the playoffs. Good run game and strong defense. If and it’s a big IF they keep doing what they did today against other teams Bucs will be hard to beat. Not saying the Bucs are a Super Bowl team but go back and look at most teams that win in the playoffs and you’ll see it’s teams with a good run game and strong defense. Bucs are still alive. One game at a time. Ima enjoy this win and man it’ll be great if they do the same thing next week.
