Vita Vea And The Trade Deadline

October 22nd, 2026

Floated as a trade option.

Short of a miracle, the Bucs will miss the playoffs this season.

Yeah, even if the Bucs play in the NFC South landfill.

Like Playoff Lenny said this week, the Bucs are going to have to spend three straight days in church and confess whatever they have going on in order to make the playoffs.

The Bucs have talented players with either a couple of years left on their contracts or are on the wrong side of 30.

Joe thinks it’s fair to say the Bucs won’t be playing for a Super Bowl title in the next two years. So why not move some of these players now to get some draft capital?

Besides, when the new regime comes in, it won’t want all of these players. So why not get some draft picks for them now to reinvigorate this roster?

(Remember: Team Glazer has only retained one head coach with back-to-back losing seasons. That was Chucky and he won Team Glazer a Super Bowl).

Dan Graziano of BSPN said the first player he would shop if he was Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht is defensive tackle Vita Vea.

The Buccaneers are 1-5. Vea is 31 years old, and he and the team begrudgingly came to a compromise agreement on his contract during training camp. The Bucs didn’t act as if he was part of their long-term future, and if teams come looking for a big, run-stuffing defensive tackle, Tampa would be silly not to listen. He is on a minimum salary this year and is guaranteed $23 million for 2027, which would rank about 15th in terms of cap numbers for defensive tackles in the league. If you need interior D-line help right now and don’t mind paying Vea $23 million next season at age 32, why not call to see what it would take to get him out of Tampa?

Why not indeed.

Look, Joe isn’t trying to push Vea out the door. But at some point you have to be a pragmatist. Why not stock up on draft picks and let the new staff handpick players they believe can play for them and develop?

The trade deadline is Nov. 10.

  1. 76 replay Says:

Might trade now to a team in the mix that needs him.

  2. 76 replay Says:

mayfield is not the QB of the future.

  3. HeavyE Says:

What difference would that make, when we will still have the same GM, making the same bad decisions and draft picks????

  4. DS Says:

Make a deal a 3rd would be nice

  5. HeavyE Says:

New GM, HC & QB…… let’s start here first!

  6. Aaron Says:

I wonder what the Rams would give up for Chase McLaughlin?

  7. HeavyE Says:

    Baker should go before Vea…..

  8. Winny Testaverde Says:

Once Bright Licht paid the ransom as VV clowned the organization from the sidelines…VV became a toxic asset financially speaking and/or otherwise. Teams would be nuts to trade for that contract. Licht won’t do it while admitting defeat/surrender.

  9. Smashsquatch Says:

Sell, sell, sell! Vea, AWJ, YaYa, Godwin, Gainwell, Mayfield. We have a solid young nucleus forming, shred the hefty contracts, stockpile picks, and reboot with a new staff.

  10. Truth be Told Says:

Get rid of all of the overpaid stiffs. Vea, Winfield. Godwin to start. Buh Bye

  11. Truth be Told Says:

Bring in Lincoln Riley and Schwartz for DC. Done

  12. WillieG Says:

I don’t want a fire sale. I’d like the next coach to have some experienced vets. And I’d like those vets to experience the playoffs with the Bucs again. I’d also like to avoid the whole “it’s a young roster” excuse that always show up when the team has only a few veterans.

  13. DailyRich Says:

The Athletic has six Bucs on its list of top 50 trade targets: Vita, Yaya, Bredeson, Godwin, Gainwell and Robinson.

  14. Greg-therealone Says:

The second you trade Vita Vea Light and Bowles both know they are done. I don’t think they are going to do that.

  15. Oregon Buc Says:

    Send Winfield out with him!

  16. jw94 Says:

    Vita, Yaya, Winfield, Anzalone.
Godwin, Gainwell. Frees up a lot of money and gets the Bucs a lot of draft capital.

  17. ProffeserVonBrainStorm Says:

Trade Bowles for a deflated football

  18. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Baker is going no where , he is our franchise QB like it or not,, give him help , Stiechen/Schwartz,,, Riley/Schwartz ,, Nate S /Schwartz ,, notice the common thread , an offensive HC w Schwartz as DC,,, imagine what Schwartz could do with our D , top 5? top 10? I can tell you one thing , it’s an aggressive come at you Defense , not Todd’s exotic try and fool you defense , and Never and I mean Never underestimate the power of the Schwartz!!!

  19. McBay Says:

Only losers panic and dump players who have proven they play hard for coach. You never know what you’re going to get in the draft. It’s better to keep everyone together, no matter the result of the game.

  20. Marine Buc Says:

If we traded Vea the Bucs would still be responsible for his remaking “prorated signing bonus” which would be @ $20M…

Does this really make any sense?

There has to be at least one person here that understands basic math.

    Right?

We are stuck with this wonderful signing by our “ROH” GM until next season is over.

  21. Mike C Says:

Worst coach in the league and people want to blame the GM…. he didn’t hire the coach, or jump to sign Baker ( owners stepped in) ffs

  22. Hodad Says:

Why not trade players like Vea? How about because no one wants to trade for Licht’s garbage contracts? Time to trade Vea was before his ridiculous extension. Going to be hard trading underperforming, players with bloated contracts.

  23. Todd Says:

Dead money would mandate a #1 coming back to offset somewhat the 20 million. Unlikely you will find a dance partner , however the Bears, Giants , and certainly the 49ers may take a flier.

  24. can-we-get-rid-of-Licht-now-PLEASE? Says:

key point here : Licht is not a “pragmatist”. He is an idiot.

  25. Todd Says:

Trading AWJ would also be not great , but the 32 mil saved on contract $$ would help offset the 27 mil in dead cap, again I believe Bucs would have to get #1 and I do not see it happening.

  26. jimmy Says:

for the right price any player is expendable. they should trade zyon, he wont notice anyway.

  27. Red Skeleton Says:

If we are only a good coach away, why would we dump players. Maybe new coach wants those players. Dumping players usually means we become like the Dolphins and Browns of the past. Lets let the new coach decide who needs to go and who needs to stay.

  28. Tackleblockwin Says:

Agreed. Make our soon to be coaching openings as desirable as possible.

  29. Allen Lofton Says:

If the Bucs keep losing, expect Vita Vea, another defensive lineman, offensive lineman and others to be traded for draft picks.
The Bucs need a bigger Running back, offensive lineman, a Lavante David linebacker, find another Vita Vea clone in the NFL draft and if possible another Mike Evans (he’s sorely missed).
It will take another strong draft for the Bucs to make inroads, plus another season for the Bucs to be contenders.
Finally the biggest change is finding a proven HC and OC to replace Todd Bowles and Robinson

  30. Fire The Cannons & Fire Todd Says:

Can we trade Licht, Todd and Z Robinson as well…

  31. can-we-get-rid-of-Licht-now-PLEASE? Says:

The Athletic has a list of the top 50 trade targets : Vea (6) YaYa (16) Bredeson (33) Godwin (34) Gainwell (35) A’Shawn (45) – it becomes clear after the analysis on each candidate that Licht has mismanaged the roster and the contracts of most of these players – IMO exhibits A & B are Baker and Vea – it is going to take years for the Bucs to recover from the disaster that is Jason Licht – that said, I predict that there is little Bucs buying or selling at the trade deadline – which is Licht’s MO anyway

  32. 813bucboi Says:

every HC in the league would want Vita including our new HC…..

the player to trade would be Winfield and Kancey….but again, i think it has more to do with coaching…several players have regressed under this staff

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  33. Obvious Says:

I’ll push him out. Along with Winfield, Godwin and Diaby.

No disrespect to Chris, he’d been a legend. But the other ones can hit the bricks.

We have the number 4 overall pick next spring. That could be used to grab smith or Simmons or a qb. And if you can land smith or Simmons up top and then a Carr or Mensah drops to the back half of the first round, you can use that extra capital to trade back up for the qb to replace baker after a year.

Moving those players accomplishes many things:

    -draft capital
-gets Walker and Hurst more playing time
-gives Todd less to work with, so it all but assures mounting losses cementing a top 5 pick

    That’s win, win, win.

If Licht doesn’t want to do it then do what the colts did and can him now and let one of his assistants do it. If they are insistent on keeping him then he should be having these conversations already.

  34. Marine Buc Says:

Not to mention we are also going to be paying Baker Mayfield over $67M next season which will be @ 20% of our team’s entire salary cap…

So giving Vea another $20M to play elsewhere for 3rd round pick sounds completely retard-ulous.

    It’s a Bucs life amigos.

  35. firethecannons Says:

Vea and Baker should get traded

  36. Winny Testaverde Says:

In an unprecedented move…I highly suggest the team trade Bright Licht ( Bucs were part in the highest profile trade for a coach with Gruden…why not GM ). The Bucs would probably have to throw in 2 first round picks but maybe could get a 5th back as a face-saving gesture.

  37. Bosch Says:

“ Look, Joe isn’t trying to push Vea out the door. ”

Of course you are. He needed to go in the off season.

It is plain to see that this team has a morale problem. It started with last season’s collapse, followed by ownership’s ludicrous decision to retain Bowels, Evans’ departure, then hiring a proven failure for OC then punctuated by Vea and Mayfield getting contracts they did not earn.

The only way to turn the corner on morale is to make changes at the top. Licht and Bowels are not going to suddenly grow a pair and start making the tough decisions.

  38. can-we-get-rid-of-Licht-now-PLEASE? Says:

Godwin, Vea , Nelson , Wirfs, Winfield, Goedeke ,Otton, McCollum , Kieft
this is Licht’s list of draft picks not on rookie contracts – his legacy – if Licht and Bowles are defenestrated how many of these players would be traded, cut , or retired ? would a new regime keep ANY of them ? interesting question

  39. Defense Rules Says:

Hodad … ‘Why not trade players like Vea? How about because no one wants to trade for Licht’s garbage contracts?’

Thank you Hodad; nice to see at least someone’s left on JBF with some realism in their analyses. Here we are one-third of the way through the season, and Vea has played three-fourths (73%) of our defensive snaps & managed to get Zero sacks, Zero TFLs, Zero forced fumbles, 3 QB hits and 13 tackles (4 solo). THAT’S OUR BIG GUN. And for THAT level of performance, Joe & others expect playoff-level teams to pay a king’s ransom? Not just his salary for this year AND $23 mil for next year, but ALSO a high trade pick? What a joke. If I smoked, I’d want some of what they’re using.

The reality is that Vea is grossly underperforming this year, and contributing ZERO to our pass rush (but he’s contributing mightily to our run defense which fits in perfectly with what Todd’s looking for). I was always under the impression that Vea handled the double-teams to free up Kancey. That’s an even bigger joke. Calijah is playing two-thirds of every game this year (65% def snaps) and has a grand total of Zero sacks, Zero TFLs, Zero forced fumbles, 2 QB hits and 4 tackles (3 solo). THAT’S OUR SECOND BIG GUN.

Bucs run TWO DLinemen on about one-third of the def snaps, and those are most usually Vea & Kancey it appears. In SIX games, 1 of our 2 primary DTs has FOUR tackles & TWO QB hits to his credit? That’s it. THAT should earn him a seat on the bench, that’s it. He’s not even trade bait. The DLineman who SHOULD be out there instead of Kancey is Robinson. A’Shawn has MORE stats than Vea & Kancey combined in less than half the def snaps (1 sack, 2 QB hits, 2 INTs, 1 TFL & 19 tackles). And nobody gets through him (his Missed Tackle Rate is only 5% this year AND lifetime).

  40. Marine Buc Says:

    @ 813

IMO – trade any player who is on a one year deal with zero (or limited) signing bonus money (dead-cap).

    – A-Rob
    – Yaya
    – Kancey
    – Anzalone (lol!)
    – Gainwell
    – Bredeson

I wouldn’t consider trading anyone else.

AWJ has too much prorated signing bonus money left and his trade value is currently at an all-time low.

  41. Defense Rules Says:

firethecannons … ‘Vea and Baker should get traded’.

Hate to pee on the fire sale, but no GM who expects to keep his job would even come close to paying what the Bucs need to get for either one of them to make a trade worthwhile. Licht grossly overpaid to keep BOTH of them in the fold, and they’ve BOTH rewarded him by grossly underperforming this year. NEITHER is the future of this franchise, but someone should’ve told Licht that BEFORE he wrote them blank checks.

  42. 813bucboi Says:

    marine

    cant argue with that lol…

    we’re in a sticky situation

how many times are the glazers going to allow Licht to screw up the cap is the real question….

took a few years to get from under the mess with Brady(which paid off) but now we’re right back in cap hell

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  43. Fire The Cannons & Fire Todd Says:

Looking at the contracts given to Winfield, Mayfield, Vita, Godwin, and the subsequent play after those contracts makes me question anyone who thinks Licht is safe from this mess

Let’s be real he’s drafted some good players but hasn’t drafted a elite player since 2020, living off the 2020 success 6 years later is a special talent Licht has that other gms just don’t have

  44. Defense Rules Says:

Marine Buc … Any solution that wipes out FOUR defensive starters is gonna have negative ramifications. Right now the defense is looking a heckuvalot better than our offense, so I wouldn’t mess with it. About the only change I’d make defensively is to either sit Kancey OR move him further down the line and keep 3 DLinemen out there on a lot higher percentage of our plays.

Diaby’s doing exactly what the Todd is asking of him: seal the edge so no one can run out there, and THEN apply pass rush pressure. And YaYa’s doing that very well; he doesn’t have any sacks admittedly, but he has 3 QB hits (same as Vea who has the most of any DLineman), he has 3 TFLs (tied for most on the team), 13 tackles (8 solo), 2 PDs & 1 INT. He’s played 62% of the def snaps (234 thus far; more than any other Bucs’ OLB for sure).

But now compare YaYa’s stats with David Walker’s. David has gotten only 26% of the def snaps (99 thus far), but now has 4 sacks, 6 QB hits, 5 TFLs, and 17 tackles (9 solo). His Missed Tackle Rate is only 5.6% (lower than Diaby or Bain who’ve both been used a lot more). Why David Walker isn’t being used a LOT MORE is far beyond me.

  45. Marine Buc Says:

    @ 813

“how many times are the glazers going to allow Licht to screw up the cap is the real question….

took a few years to get from under the mess with Brady(which paid off) but now we’re right back in cap hell”

Full disclosure – Tom Brady was the least of our salary cap problems after we raised that SB trophy and threw it across several different yachts in the Bay…

    – Shaq
    – Jenson
    – Marpet
    – Godwin

Unfortunately – bad luck, old age and injury stole most of the wasted cap dollars the past few years.

Over-paid re-signings are now stealing our present to future salary cap credits.

    Oh-well.

At least we have the draft to talk about… Again…

  46. Mike Johnson Says:

Seems like Big Vita got worst after receiving his big pay raise. Bucs are a joke. I believe Carolina is going to spank us good.

  47. Matt Says:

It’s time to trade him, should have never given him a contract like that
. wtf has he done lately? Even last year!

  48. Marine Buc Says:

    @ Defense Rules

    Your name precedes you.

    And I agree 100%.

Keep the defensive pieces in place. I would actually like to have A-Rob back next season if possible.

I would like to see an offensive minded HC brought in…

I’m growing weary of seeing our best OC’s being picked off and succeeding elsewhere.

Have any thoughts on who the new HC/OC should be?

  49. MelvinJunior Says:

Vea is an obvious no-brainer. The tough decisions (tho would not be for me) are players more like Bucky and Yaya! The bottomline is we have to load up on and STOCKPILE 2027 and 2028 PICKS. More than likely, Bucky will NOT be re-signed by a new HC and GM… There are LOTS of “Bucky’s” and better in THIS LEAGUE, and drafting a YOUNG one on the CHEAP makes a lot more sense. We have to stockpile 2028-Picks for our next QB. THAT is THE class to do it! SuperKamario.

  50. MelvinJunior Says:

Seattle might be willing to give up a little something for him… Hopefully, in a bidding war!!!!

  51. MelvinJunior Says:

The thing is the Bucs don’t have any players who are unreplaceable. So, literally EVERYTHING and EVERYONE has to be on the table, for the most part.

  52. MelvinJunior Says:

There has to be a fire-sale. Complete culture change. And, then the new HC and GM will decide themselves, who they want to launch and send packin’ next offseason.

  53. #1bucsfan Says:

I disagree Joe until we lose to the panthers we are still in this. If they beat us this Sunday then yea season is over. If we stay 1 game behind them all season then we are still in this

  54. Steve Says:

You know what the scary part is about stock piling draft picks, what IF the bucs somehow make the playoffs and team Glazer decides to keep Bowles around for another year

  55. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

JL will blow this opportunity if they Glazers even allow him to.
Trade Chris Godwin too… anyone who can bring a fair value in future draft picks.

  56. Oxycondomns Says:

you can to trade godwin to chiefs or raiders the problem is he is way overpaid

  57. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

I don’t think CG could bring much in return, he is SHOT , age and leg injuries

  58. Defense Rules Says:

MelvinJunior … ‘There has to be a fire-sale. Complete culture change.’

That’s a VERY BOLD STATEMENT Melvin, but how do you KNOW that a fire-sale will accomplish that objective? You stated intent is to hire a new GM & HC, but prior to that have a ‘fire-sale’ because ‘literally EVERYTHING and EVERYONE has to be on the table, for the most part’.

Wow does that sound great. Get rid of ‘EVERYONE and EVERYTHING’ and start all over … from scratch. Gee if we’re fortunate, we might do as well as the 1976 Bucs did.

I bet that if Joe took a poll, that’s NOT what the vast majority of JBFers would prefer. Bucs have some very talented young players who simply lack experience at the NFL level. Heck, look at how our draft picks from 2026 are performing (Trotter, Scott, Bain on defense for starters). Add in Parrish & David Walker from 2025, and Tykee Smith from 2024. That’s SIX guys right there that the Bucs can build around on defense, using EITHER a 3-4 or a 4-3 defense. Yes we need more pieces to be a true contender, but those 6 ‘youngsters’ form a pretty good foundation.

Plus we’ve also got several veterans (just talking defense) who I’d personally keep for a year or 2 while we flesh this thing out. Players like A’Shawn Robinson (he’s a beast & we need guys like that to teach our younger guys how to become beasts).

And I still love YaYa Diaby & am convinced that he’s doing exactly what Todd Bowles wants him to do (seal the edge then pressure the QB). For those who aren’t familar with his performance these past 2 seasons, he averages over 50 tackles a year, with about 35 of those being solo. He hasn’t missed a game in his 4 years (54 games), and has 19 sacks, 50 QB hits & 41 TFLs in those 54 games. That’s an average of slightly over 2.0 ‘impact plays’ every game.

As a comparison, JPP was a Buc for 4 years, and played in 54 games also. He was a beast IMO, and got 34 sacks, 55 QB hits & 35 TFLs as a Buc. That’s an average of 2.3 ‘impact plays’ per game. Granted that YaYa’s not JPP, but his productivity isn’t really very far behind.

  59. buc4evr Says:

Keep the players for now, dump the HC, OC, and GM at season end. Let the new GM and HC decide what players to keep after the end of the season. There is no way to determine what players a new HC will want and I don’t trust the current management to do the right thing.

  60. Boycotting 26 Says:

Yes Vea’s new contract is an albatross and we will not get great value for him, but he HAS to go. Unlike players like Godwin who have the “excuse” of age/injury or misuse by this coaching staff (external things), I think Vita literally just dg@f (internal thing). He sat on his @s$ all offseason while demanding a huge contract, and then came in out of shape (per bowles, look it up). That is not a guy who is committed to this team’s success, or he realizes we’ll always suck with bowles. Either way that is CANCER to a team. If he was gonna suck, which he does, he could at least provide some leadership & motivation for all that Glazer loot. Instead I think he does the opposite. Starting to wonder how much his attitude has negatively affected Kancey. He’s one of 4 remaining champs here and this is how he behaves? This is his level of effort? Unacceptable. He’s a goofy man-child. Look at how BA did that CB, and AB for that matter. That’s what ACTUAL accountability looks like, not just saying “gotta play it better, gotta coach it better,” like some around here believe counts…. Yes there will be negative ramifications, oh well, that’s the situation we find ourselves in.

And what makes this situation SO much worse in my mind, is that if the Glazers did the smart thing and fired bowles after last season, I don’t think the Baker OR Vea contracts get done. Tell me I’m wrong. I think todd pounded the table for both contracts to try and motivate the guys to play hard and save his behind. Baker IS at least playing hard, and I think that’s why he doesn’t catch more hate. Vea is NOT playing hard. And go figure, we wait until he’s checked out and sucks to play him above 50% of the snaps. I don’t know how far up past bowles the problem goes, but I’m really starting to sour on Licht, even though I think he’s a decent GM. It just seems like we can’t stop stepping on rakes, even when we see them coming. Like every move we make is the wrong one. It’s a Bucs life…

  61. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

VV and others are not malcontents
    The organization is dysfunctional
There is a fundamental cultural problem starting with the management style and philosophy of the owners.

  62. Defense Rules Says:

Marine Buc … ‘Keep the defensive pieces in place. I would actually like to have A-Rob back next season if possible. I would like to see an offensive minded HC brought in’.

I love A-Rob and wish we’d gotten him many years ago (at least when Suh wasn’t re-signed). If he wants to play for 2 more years, I wouldn’t have any issue with re-signing him to a 2-year contract.

As irritated as I am with Vea (he played the Bucs, and we let him), he’s still a force in the middle of our DLine. Todd’s grossly overusing him however IMO (too many snaps for him), and that plays out at the end of games far as I’m concerned. I’d still keep him though through next year (IF we trade him, we’d have to eat a lot of his salary IMO, AND best we’d get would be maybe a 3rd or 4th Rnd pick). That’s a bad deal.

Licht had no business signing Kancey to his 5th-year deal. Focus on him for awhile in our next game … he’s a midget among giants. I’d vastly prefer to see Vea & Robinson out there on like two-thirds of our plays (instead of Vea & Kancey), and move Kancey further down the line (or sit him on the bench). He’s not earning his time on the field IMO’ and neither is Bain. But Rueben (like YaYa) is only doing what the Todd is telling him to do: seal the edge THEN pressure the QB. And Bain (like Diaby) is always that split-second too late. But hey, we have the #2 Run Defense in the NFL, so there’s that.

In terms of a new HC, the one thing I’m sure of is that I never want to see another dual-hatted HC/Coordinator. Lovie became that when he assumed DC responsibilities from Leslie Frasier … and failed miserably. So we promoted Dirk Koetter to be the dual-hatted HC/OC …and he failed miserably too. Bruce Arians learned better from his stint at Arizona, a never was dual-hatted here (although he obviously had a huge influence on our offense particularly) … and it paid off handsomely. Hasn’t paid off at all with the Todd being dual-hatted.

  64. Defense Rules Says:

Marine Buc … ‘I’m growing weary of seeing our best OC’s being picked off and succeeding elsewhere.’

BTW, I’ve said this before, but the NFL could solve that problem in a heartbeat. just say that when a coordinator signs a contract, it has to be for a minimum of 2 years. And he has to fulfill those 2 years (unless he sucks and gets fired, in which case they’d still have to pay him). In any event though, no other team could approach him until he finishes those 2 years.

I would think the teams would want that, because that means he’s proving his value over 2 years instead of over just 1 year.

  65. Darin Says:

Could have gotten more at his previous salary. Bad move by Licht.

  66. adam from ny Says:

i swear if vita goes, you gotta do a package deal…

you gotta move the little fish who swims next to the big whale…

    for real…

you trade vita and kancey together…

the little guppy can’t swim on his own…

send him into deep shark infested waters with the big orca

  67. magoobee Says:

Without that extension, Vita would probably have garnered a 2nd round pick. Now, probably a 4th.

  70. Hodad Says:

A lot of problems, little solutions. Whatever has to happen, don’t let Licht be part of it. It’s impossible to clean house in the locker room. However, you can change the front office. We need a new set of eyes on the roster. Licht can’t be trusted. He’s Doctor Frankenstein, this is his monster. Time to get out the pitch forks, and torches.

  71. Marine Buc Says:

    @ DR

I will take it a step further.

If you scalp another teams OC or DC it will cost you a 2nd round pick the following draft…

We are on our 4th OC in as many years and that really blows.

  72. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I disagree that we cannot win a superbowl over the next 2 years.

We can still win one this year if things turn around. We’re out when we have 7 losses and we are not there yet.

I don’t know what they are waiting for. Should have already started the process of trading a bunch of these guys over 30

    BOWLES ISN’T GOING ANYWHERE

  75. Countrybrew Says:

Vita Vea , Chris Godwin, and Winfield are 3 players that are older, over paid, and probably on their last contracts and all 3 deserve another chance at a superbowl. These are my top candidates for trade. Get rid of the heavy contracts, pick up some compensation, and give these great Buccaneers an opportunity to end their careers on a high note. Let’s move forward with the youth movement in which we already have a great nucleus of young studs . We can pick up some draft picks while dropping some big contracts and infuse some more young talent with the future Bucs . Plus a new set of coaches!!!!!

Should of never signed him. I saw that money grab back at mini camp. Trading him cost 19.6 in dead cap money nect year. So yeah, its not that easy. We lose a mid DT and take a 20 mil dead cap hit with no player. What a crap signing this was. Same with the Godwin, why signing. Why would you sign a guy who’s had two major injuries in three years and on the wrong side of 30? Hes not a pro bowler, not a hall of famer. Duh.

Gainwell was another awful move. We had Tuck and hes cheap. Duh.

I’ll be the future GM for a fraction of the price. I think it’s way overblown, how hard it is to be an nfl GM.

Very, very rarely do third contracts for homegrown players ever work out for the team.

  78. JimBobBuc Says:

Vita chose to be selfish and sit out during his contract dispute. He didn’t prepare for the season by getting in football shape. He’s been ineffective this season. It’s time to trade him as he could also be a cancer since he sat on his behind and didn’t work with the team.

Some guys have mentioned AW3. I think Bowles has neutered AW3 by putting him back 15 yards, so he rarely impacts a play, so he’s being misused by Bowles and I’ll give AW3 a pass. Let the next coach decide what to to with AW3.

  79. McBay Says:

Lost in all the negativitism is the power of the creamsicle. Bucs should wear them the rest of the season, the players and fans love them and it will have a positive effect on the locker room and team unity. And the Bucs always play well in those uniforms. Creamsicles forever, and Bowles gets a lifetime contract.

    Go Bucs.

Is there a way for us to block mcbay? What a clown.
