@joebucsfan.com Can you write an article on why Bowles did t go for 2pts on the last TD? It was obvious. I think its just an example of why we need an offensive HC. IF you go for two and don’t make it OR kick the extra pt. Either you are behind by 6 or 7 with 330 to go. IF you go for 2 AND make it you are down be 5 meaning a fg by Bengals does not take you out of the game. AND you could even try an onside if you don’t trust defense. But kicking the extra it just didn’t get us anything. I hate to see Chicago and Jax keep scoring as they were available

I remember when Brady threw three interceptions in one game, and the defence did not let the opponents get any points from them, and we won.
I agree that the game plan was pretty bad, at least in the way certain players were used. This seemed like it also went on last year. Sigh.

@ Dmbucs – I actually agree with this. It crossed my mind during one of the many college games I watched on Saturday! It has on several other occasions too, throughout the years. But, I can’t remember any analyst ever mentioning it during a game before. They just kick the PAT as usual, and making it a 6-point game. I guess, it’s because a TD and PAT then ‘WINS’ you the game… But, we’ve all seen-it way too many times, where an opponent gets a late FG to make it a 9-point/2-possession game. So, I’m not sure… It’s a pretty tough one. I would strongly consider going for the 2 there, since worst case scenario, it’s still a 7pt ballgame. It’s definitely interesting. I don’t know why no one ever mentions it, or attempts it (that I am aware of)!?

Crickett Baker Says:

***********
You remember a defense with better players at every level that were able to inflict their will. This defense is a shadow of that one, and the blame isn’t just on Bowles.

Still don’t understand how Todd turd in the punch Bowles kept his job. He is horrible, and getting really fat.
Go hire Mike Tomlin right now. Shouldve had Harbaugh.

Louis Friend, the defense is all on Todd ‘turd in the punch’ Bowles. He has had it for years, and they get worse and worse every year. Despicable that he wasn’t fired, he must have something on LIght or the Glazers.
Guaranteed Mike Tomlin would have people getting to the QB, he had a top 10 defense for 15 years in Pittsburgh.
Go get him now. Dont wait for another 7-10 season.
Yes, the writing is on the wall after game. If not, I will eat a whole plate of Crow.

i agree with disappointing not crushing overall.
bucs better take this opportunity to crush the browns at home.

Todd trusted HIS defense again to get a stop in the 4th quarter on Sunday.
It failed miserably as it always does since he was gifted the HC spot.
If the Glazers were serious about winning they would have at minimum forced Bowels to relinquish his DC job to a more capable coach.
Instead he stood there with a lifeless stare on the sidelines with KitKat wrappers strewn underneath his ever expanding mid section, while the defense stopped nothing.
This is not a one off, it is more than a trend, it is pattern of failure that is set in stone.

Thought we would lose, liked us not getting blown out with 4 TOs. Need the Bucs to grow from this going forward.
September 15th, 2026 at 11:27 am
@ Buddhaboy19 – So, YOU think Hairball would have chosen the Bucs over THE New York Giants, and YOU think that the Glazers are going to pay $100-MILLION for a COACH!? Okay, keep DREAMING. And, there is a BIG REASON for why Tomlin was FIRED in Pittsburgh, and that 80% of their entire fanbase had wanted HIM GONE, for several years. It’s about the “OFFENSE,” and not being able to call plays, or develop a QB. Just LOTS of things. He’d been running a VERY loose ship there, for a real long time. He’d be just another retread, that the new-age, modern-day NFL has passed by. It’d be very similar to Bowles 2.0 in EVERY way.

Ira, how is the biggest play of the game not Baker’s RZ fumble??
September 15th, 2026 at 1:20 pm
Another great loss that was really a win Ira? LOL
September 15th, 2026 at 2:25 pm
@ LouisFriend, so before this game, ppl here were saying it’s not Bowles fault he never had good players like this year; this year we have pass rush, we have ML, we are good. So the game comes and goes; what happened? All these super-talented edge rushers ( which they are, to be honest) and no pressure? It’s on your garbage head coach. He sucks, and I can’t wait for the day Joes put their feet in their mouth and admit they were wrong ever defending this coach.

I have a roommate at the ALF who wants Jon Gruden back. Can you see Gruden’s fire added to Baker’s.
Go Bucs! Right the ship, dammit.

@melvinjunior. Late in the game, it’s easy to consider options since time is almost out. At best you probably get the ball back once. I would rather tey to stay within a one score range. And yiu left out the last possibility. If you were down by 5 a touchdown wins it there also. So the only negative is you may only tie with a 7 point touchdown. But maybe you have a better chance of not having a two score deficit with a min to go. Now if we give up another touchdown?? We chalk it up to one of those days 🙂 I really don’t know why announcers never talk about those options. If that was my job and i was there at 4am every day, id rethink ever scenario 100 times over….
