No, Maxx Crosby Unlikely To Come To Tampa Bay
March 11th, 2026Boy, the Raiders got screwed over.
If you weren’t monitoring social media last night, then perhaps you are unaware that the Crows decommitted from their trade of two first-round picks to Las Vegas for Maxx Crosby.
So the Raiders are not just out of two first-round picks, but they spent like drunken sailors this week to build their lineup. Now, unexpectedly, they have a $30 million a year contract dumped back on them.
Bye, bye Trey Hendrickson. If the Crows were willing to cough up two first-round picks for Crosby, they shouldn’t have any problem paying Hendrickson $25+ million.
And the Bucs will once again be a day late and a dollar short. Actually, quite a few dollars. Millions.
But no, Joe doesn’t think this will motivate Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht to suddenly decide to go against everything in his DNA and trade a couple of first-round picks for Crosby. That’s about as un-Light of a move as there is.
Why did Baltimore renege on the trade? Joe’s willing to bet Crosby, who is coming off knee surgery, had rotten medicals when he took a physical yesterday in Baltimore.
And Licht’s going to trade two first-round picks for a guy who likely is major damaged goods, only to watch Bucs coach Todd Bowles use Crosby in every imaginable way on defense other than rushing the quarterback?
Crosby to the Bucs has all the smell of a pipedream.
Don’t expect teams to be lining up immediately to get back into Maxx Crosby trade talks. Some teams I spoke to tonight expect the Raiders to be the ones calling them.
It’ll be up to individual teams’ medical staffs to decide on whether to assume the risk of trading for Crosby.

Let’s be honest, Todd is going to roll out the same players (minus some key starters) and his janky ars defense and he will act surprised when the Bucs go 5-12.
And the damage will be fully done by that point. Does everyone remember the lost decade when players gave up year after year until Brady reset things? The Bucs appear to be heading that way, unfortunately.
March 11th, 2026 at 12:08 am
Sounds like a fine fella and I’d prefer another
March 11th, 2026 at 12:13 am
We will be talking draft again by October. Lost decade is back. Everyone better embrace the suck cause it’s here…
March 11th, 2026 at 12:13 am
Gonna say this again.
I hope Jason Licht reads JoeBucsFan articles & comments…
Ok, so Jason Licht…..
Dallas Cowboys had 2nd best offer for Mad Max….
After losing out, they worked out deal with Greenbay to trade for edge Rashan Gary for only a 4th round draft pick!!!
If Dallas renigs on their offer to Packers for Rashan Gary to chase Mad Max sweepstakes again, MAKE THE SAME OFFER TO GREEN BAY!!!
Here’s the sack stats from Gary from 2021 to 2025
2021 – 9.5 sacks
2022 – 6 sacks
2023 – 9 sacks
2024 – 7.5 sacks
2025 – 7.5 sacks
Greenbay plays 3/4 defense as well
This seems like a no-brainer to go get Rashan Gary!!!!
DO IT LICHT, DO IT!!!!
March 11th, 2026 at 12:17 am
This is a throwaway year. Glazers will not invest longterm money or future draft picks for a coach that won’t be here in a year. The big question is will they retain Jason Fred Flinstone Licht
March 11th, 2026 at 12:29 am
I think the Bucs will improve a lot via the draft
And bring in some decent UDFAs
March 11th, 2026 at 12:32 am
I FEEL FOR JOE
Joe hasn’t admitted Bowles, Licht, and Baker are done. The Glazers are saving money and picks, doing research on HC/GM, and sinking the season to create the perfect setup for the next regime.
Embrace the suck. The more we suck the faster we get better.
March 11th, 2026 at 12:37 am
Is Licht setting the table up for a total rebuild starting in 2027? It certainly seems like he is as he has not treally addressed many of the holes on this roster except for getting replacements for SVD and Rachaad White. Bucs could be in a race with the ATL, not for the NFC South crown but for that elusive top 5 draft choice for a new franchise QB that both clubs might need in 2027 if Baker does not return to his 2024/early 2025 form and the Cleveland South Falcons fail miserably as expected with Tua and Penix leading them to doule digit losses .
March 11th, 2026 at 12:47 am
It’s not as bad as it seems
The O-Line will be healthy, playing as a unit again
We have some young WRs that can really play football
Baker is in a contract year, we should see the best version of him
Cade Otton will be back, Culp will be better
I think Gainwell will contribute a lot out of the backfield, and ST
I really think this will be Yaya breakout year
I believe Kancey and Vea will be solid, hopefully Kancey stay healthy
I believe we draft some solid defensive players
Winfield, Smith, Morrison, Parrish will be ok
McCollum will have a rebound season
.
I’m glad Licht isn’t reaching in Free Agency
I truly believe the draft is our bread and butter
March 11th, 2026 at 12:49 am
Same ol stuff every year, Jason licht does not know how to draft elite players. All he knows how to do in the draft is pass up on elite players. Idk if he reads a book called drafting for dummies. Jason licht has been here since 2014 drafted 84 players and only hit on a couple at most less than 50%. That’s a F in my book, that’s why we are in this mess on defense, for all the missed draft picks by Jason. It’s embarrassing and he is still employed and making the same mistake again this year. When is the Glazers gonna hire a real GM that knows about football and get rid off this goofball!
March 11th, 2026 at 1:46 am
Hire a Defensive Cordinator, if not nothing will change on Defense
Coach Bowzo will blame everyone else , have his Edge & D-ends cover receivers & play the Bowles antiquated defensive scheme. The one that our corners play 10 yards off & D-lineman cover &.nobody really stop the running game in less than 5 to 6 yards carries. Or probably worse the Bucs will win just enough for the Glaziers to declare Bowzo a genius and extend his contract so we get mediocre football until.the weather changes in hell. Nobody really expects the Rock star GM to make a big time trade , thats not really his style. Let’s hope that they improve the roster a little but after the way the players Quit on him last season do ya’ll believe in the Bowzo defensive system.o
March 11th, 2026 at 1:50 am
Bowles will make the playoffs again, JL will have a great draft, Tampa Bay will be fine! LFG Bucs. No Evans no problem, Egbuka will be a top 10 WR, Baker will be a top 10 QB, fire the cannons!
March 11th, 2026 at 2:00 am
Actually, now the Cowboys can trade for him since they were the other team trying to trade for him. A first and 2nd I think it was. Jerry will do it which will still leave Trey available for the Bucs if the “Crows” don’t sign him.
March 11th, 2026 at 2:06 am
Free agency is very iffy this year. Especially the older fellas playing OLB/edge. I was hoping that Jason had a secret dude on his radar but that is my own wishful thinking. Looks like more of Todd’s worn out blitz packages this year. Ouch! Nailed it Joe.

Yes the Free Agents are lining up to play for Todd Bowles. Hey, 3rd and 28 is tough to defend especially when you are one stop away from clinching a playoff berth. And the way young players develop playing for this regime, it’s really true whether its a first rounder or a seventh rounder, it doesn’t matter due to the genius of the Todd. They will all play at that level we watched last 9 games of 2025.
March 11th, 2026 at 3:02 am
Down the drain.
March 11th, 2026 at 3:24 am
Maybe Evans will get cold feet.
March 11th, 2026 at 4:20 am
Did the Ravens see something in Crosby’s medical imaging that scared them? It might something other than his knee also.
This imaging stuff is amazing these days. It’s not always the obvious. Heck, it’s possible that they simply came to their senses financially and draft capitol wise. That’s part of the problem when one guy becomes such a major financial responsibility. In the blink of an eye he becomes an unbearable liability. You had better be absolutely certain.
March 11th, 2026 at 4:23 am
Heck, maybe he didn’t pass his psychological test?
March 11th, 2026 at 4:35 am
We all know that all these articles or opinions about deals like Crosby are just talk. Licht will never do a trade like that. He is been GM for 10+ years and the biggest draft pcik he has traded away is a 3rd for JPP. A 3rd so stop all this nonsense.
I want Licht to get his fair share of criticism and blame.
His philosophy of building through the Draft has built what?
A lot of players in the team that were drafted from him. And the result is what?
We all can see that the rosters he is being building only won when Brady was here.
What is his record without Brady. Just like we saw the Brady effect with BB we can see it now with Licht.
And dont tell me about Bowles because he is the GM and he decided to keep him after what we all saw last season.
So stop talking about Lichts precious picks because he loves to Draft and built teams that will do mediocre things.
Go Bucs
March 11th, 2026 at 5:07 am
I hope that dope Licht isn’t allowed to trade away picks hampering our new GM next year! We should be trading players for the rebuild next year, not trading for players for this waste of a head coach to ruin. Plus Max didn’t pass his physical coming off surgery last season. Damaged goods, no thanks. We have enough injury prone players of our own. Don’t need to trade for a player on rehab.
March 11th, 2026 at 6:13 am
is there a joe49ersfan.com? i need a new team, if you don’t want all your weekends ruined next fall i suggest you jump ship!!!
March 11th, 2026 at 6:35 am
And the Glazer’s thought the fans will calm down about retaining Bowles as time goes on. HAHAHA. How did that work out for you? Morons.
March 11th, 2026 at 6:53 am
Would you guys still want Licht to offer a single 1st round pick for a rehabbing Crosby?
March 11th, 2026 at 7:06 am
The Raiders aren’t getting two firsts for Crosby from anybody now.
March 11th, 2026 at 8:15 am
If not Hendrickson then Chubb.
March 11th, 2026 at 8:35 am
This is why you do not trade two 1st Round picks for ANYBODY!
Licht drafted Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Tristan Wirfs, Allie Marpet…people seem to conveniently “forget” facts when they do not fit their narratives. I’m not a huge Bowles fan, but Licht knows what he is doing.
Logan Hall is going to be paid $7 million by Houston to be mediocre. Meanwhile, Elijah Roberts will get about $1 million. Not a bad decision there.
March 11th, 2026 at 11:17 am
The draft is always the way to build your team. High stakes FA are usually just fools gold that smells of desperation. The Ravens dodged a bullet. I bet the Hendrickson deal has an escape hatch after the 2nd year. It’s probably only a 2 year 58m deal.

lol. Citing examples of players that were drafted 13 years ago. How about listing one drafted in the last 6 years?
March 11th, 2026 at 12:37 pm
Our first this year, 4th this year….we’ll have an extra 3rd (compensatory), so bleh….and next years 3rd…..
Come on Spytek and Tom….you know we’re in bad shape anyway, so next year’s 3rd will be a high one.
March 11th, 2026 at 12:45 pm
everything ended after the bye week 2025 and 3 and 28 everybody gave up kinda went through the motions and collected a paycheck back to the very dark years post dungy and gruden

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Tristan Wirfs – drafted 13th in 2020. Within your 6 year window.
Licht traded picks to move up and get him.
Look – I get the frustration here. With all of the negativity beinig repeated by posters it’s hard not to do so. I feel frustrated at times too.
But one thing i do know is that all of the “keyboard screaming” will not change the minds of anyone at One Buc PLace. And we are all being egged on by the Trolls here – some less obvious than others – that intentionally try to stir things up.
So lets try to see the positives – and there are quite a few.
I wish we had more successes in the past drafts – but the point is we did have some.
Luke Goedecke would be another one…!
March 11th, 2026 at 7:07 pm
Licht’s is an excellent drafter. One of the absolute best, actually.
There was talk of him being GM of the year midway through last season. He has some big misses, but his percentages are extremely good. They are going to need to be this year.
March 11th, 2026 at 8:18 pm
If I read the NFL rules on salary cap right, when a player is traded, their salary cap hit is split into two distinct parts. The portion that already “belonged” to the Raiders never transfers to the new team, even if the new team renegotiates the contract. The Raiders remain responsible for any money they have already paid Crosby that hasn’t been fully “charged” to the cap yet, aka “Dead Money.” For Crosby, this is roughly $5.1 million.
The new team only inherits the future obligations, i.e. the money that hasn’t been paid yet. Before any renegotiation, the new team would take on his $30 million base salary and roughly $782,000 in roster bonuses. The new team must have enough cap space (approx. $30.78 million) to accept the contract “as-is” before they can officially finalize the trade and renegotiate.
Once the trade is official, the new team can renegotiate or “restructure” the contract to change how their portion of the hit is calculated. If the new team converts his $30M salary into a signing bonus, they can spread that hit over the remaining years of the deal. The new team can drop Crosby’s 2026 cap hit to as low as $7.8 million.
So I’m wondering if the Bucs can even clear up enough cap space (approx. $30.78 million) to even then try to restructure Crosby’s contract?
March 11th, 2026 at 8:39 pm
This guy is a closer, Culture changer and we are soooo soooooft right now. We need suh like change, not more Geralds(still a fan), Maxx out and change the tone of the D. He will have Baker Mayfield sized chip on his shoulder next year too. Can absolutely rush the Quarterback. Would not give up 2 1sts, but would give 1st and a third.. you take M1K3 ? you better give us something and someone to believe in!
March 12th, 2026 at 2:03 am
It is shocking, with how much of a defensive genius the Bucs have overseeing the team and overseeing himself on defense, that Maxx wouldn’t just tear up his contract and agree to come play for Todd for the vet minimum.
