In before deranged lunatic Rod Munch goes on an unhinged, delirious rant about Baker. Let’s go FSU/Jameis boy, let it all out.

  2. Hugh Glazerhouse Says:

Angry, not that he left but WHY he left. He knew we went downhill, aren’t a contender, and are an org that settles for mediocrity…keeping Bowles was the main reason. Glazerhouses poor decisions…

  3. Bucs33Saints14! Says:

We all know, football is a business. I am glad Big Mike E is getting a good deal and another shot at a ring– he has had to endure a lot ugly seasons for the ring in 2021. It makes me think that the Team does not think we are as close as the rest of us hope we are.

  4. Hugh Glazerhouse Says:

@gofortheface30, Rod Butt Munch is autistic or something, he can’t help himself. Plus, he won’t answer until he gets out of school and mom lets him have his tablet time…which is probably all night to give her some peace!

  5. Senor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

I voted angry. But some might be angry at ME. Why? Because he wanted to win? Because he wanted to get away from this useless HC? Because he wanted to go to a winning organization?

Good for Mike. The 9ers, are maybe the only team that had more injuries than the Bucs, and yet, they ended the season 12-5 and made the playoffs. THAT is a winning organization.

The Bucs offseason consists of signing a middling TE, nice guy, plays hard, but he is less than average. And signed an again ILB, hoooooraaay. And they kept the inept DC, the worst of all their moves.

I have NOT been one to complain about Todd and Licht or the Glazers. But clearly, this organization is NOT about reaching the SB. Its about winning the comatose NFCS. Hoooorraaay. One and done. 3rd and 28. That is what the Bucs are about.

Glazers are about winning my azz. How does a winning organization keep a HC who starts 6-2 and finishes 2-7? If you think they believe in his coaching abilities if it weren’t for the injuries, I ask you WHY? What has Todd ever done as a HC? He is a middling coach at best. The highlight of his resume is as DC in the SB. As a HC, he hasn’t don’t squat.

  6. Senor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

    signed an aging* ILB…

  7. Bee Says:

Mike wanted to get a far from Licht, Bowles and Baker as possible so SF will do the trick. I’ve been saying for months this team is tanking, believe me now?

  8. Ha-Ha-Ha Says:

The options you gave weren’t very good.
    They were mostly negative emotions.
I clicked I’m good, but I would have clicked happy for him,
    Bucs not going anywhere.
It will be interesting who gets to (try to) be the number 1
receiver. The Bucs have 3 slot receivers and no replacement for Mike.

  9. ChiBuc Says:

@joe the poll is a bit skewed. The options are a narrow range from apathetic, “I’m good,” to 4 stages of loss/depression. You could sprinkle in some…”Happy for him” or “good for rebuilding.” I feel you man, you clearly are in a dark place over Mike’s departure. But hey, at least we didn’t get any younger with Licht’s 2nd teir 32 yr old ILB.

  10. Addb Says:

    3rd and 28

  11. Thisisouryear!!!! Says:

IMO he’s not a priority right now. I’m disappointed he wouldn’t stay here for 15 million, but we’ve got to rebuild our defense if we want to be competitive. Hopefully that’s not done!!!

  12. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Voted “other”, as I want to hear more details instead of what a lot of this fanbase and just making up their own reasons. Don’t expect Mike to talk bad about Tampa, BUT I do want to hear more of what drove him away. The whole “offense that can challenge defenses” part kind of stuck with me, but there’s got to be more.

Our entire offense is going to be played differently now, we got a taste of that last year.

  13. Oxycondomns Says:

expected. mike didnt want to go out s punk

  14. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

I wish I was a bit more tech savvy. I would love to see how many people leaving comments along the lines of “I can’t believe we lost Mike, it’s horrible!” also posted comments here the last couple of years containing the word “hamstring”.

For the record I think it sucks, but also “I’m good”.

  15. Oxycondomns Says:

didnt want to be part of a sinking ship

  16. Henry Says:

Mike “has been great” Evans chose to leave for whatever reason. Relax, the sun will rise tomorrow.

  17. Vanessa Anne Says:

    I voted sad.

Yesterday, I voted to place the blame on Mike.

I agree that Todd, Jason, the Glazers, and frankly, the other 52 guys on the squad all had a role in Mike’s decision, but in the end it was up to Mike. His decision.

I’m happy for him, but sad for us. I hope he’s wildly successful and wish him the best. But, it’ll be hard to watch the games this season knowing he won’t be on the field for us.

Unfortunately, I don’t think a lot will change as a result of this.

I fear that Todd will continue to run an overly complicated defense and deny that a pass/edge rush is important. I suspect Jason will continue to primarily shop the sales and bargain bins, versus spending the money on a few high-end quality players.

Nothing against the people we’ve already signed in free agency… resigning Cade and picking up Alex Anzalone and Kenneth Gainwell are pleasant surprises for me!

I’ll be very happy if I’m wrong about Jason and Todd.

  18. Pewter Power Says:

Love my some ME13 I’m still going to watch him achieve greatness. The NFC West is going to be wild, Devante vs Evans. Seahawks and Rams. He chose to go to that’s division over the weak nfc south. It’s all Bowles fault

  19. Paratrooper Buc Says:

I picked “other.” My emotion is “accepting/understanding.” Mike’s “3rd and 28! What are we doing here?!” in my mind was really, “…what am ‘I’ doing HERE?!”

The man worked his ass off and gutted through injury to play and he put more heart and effort in than the team. It wasn’t money but his legacy and respect. I think he believes the 49ers can win and respect him enough to give him a three year contract which the Bucs did not do 2 years ago. That failure to give him a 3 year contract stuck with him. So yeah, I accept and understand his choice and will root for him as a 49er. Best of luck to him.

If the 49ers go deep in the playoffs or win the SB and Bucs flounder, Bowles needs to finally go.

  20. FortMyersDave Says:

Sad and Evans will never say that Bowles and his D led to his decision to leave. In San Fran he is the numero uno target, in Tampa he would pull a couple of hammies and would have lost targets to JMac, Egbuka and Godwin. Too many mouths to feed in the WR room. Plus 3rd and 28 which is on Todd and his ineptitude.

  21. Ballwasher61 Says:

Sad but there was always going to be a time to move on. Wonder if not tagging him was done for this reason, they had to know that they gave him a chance to walk. Whole lots of theories out here but only Mike knows and he won’t throw the team under the bus so there’s the whole speculation thing. I think it’s a combination of things but if Mike doesn’t have a 1000 yd season they most will think it was time to move on, as it would have been sooner than later. Mike has been a reliable rock for this team that maybe they leaned on him too much? Now the team has to pull itself up individually and go play, maybe it’s a good thing. Proud to have had Mike here and what his family did to help so many outside of football.

  22. DRob Says:

We should have traded him last year.

  23. Josh Says:

The fact that Mike Evans—the greatest offensive player in franchise history—willingly took a pay cut to sign a **3-year, $42.4 million** deal with the 49ers (which averages out to just over **$14 million a year**) after the Bucs made a significantly higher “aggressive” offer is the ultimate confirmation that the Glazer era has officially failed the fans. By choosing to play for millions less in San Francisco just to escape a **Todd Bowles** regime that has run the team into the ground, Evans has essentially told the world that he’d rather lose money than spend another minute in a building that rewards coaching mediocrity while letting its legends rot. While Malcolm Glazer was a winner who would have fired any coach to keep a cornerstone icon, his sons have allowed a “country club” culture to fester, resulting in the most embarrassing exit possible: a “Buc for Life” deciding that your franchise is so toxic that it’s worth a massive financial loss just to get the hell out.

  24. Erik with UniqueModernArt.com Says:

The loss of Evans is an indictment of the current State of the Franchise.

He does not think this team can be a Superbowl contender with the current coaching staff and roster.

And neither do I. Mainly because we retained Bowles and our defense is probably going to be terrible again.

And we got worse on both sides of the ball yesterday with the loss of Evans and Dean.

It’s not looking good for next season, Bucs fsns.

  25. Sooner1981 Says:

Angry at the Glaziers for keeping Bowles and forcing Mike to try and find a team that really wants to win.

  26. Reality Says:

He chose to leave. And not because of a bad offer or treatment by Bucs (true for his entire career here too). I’m good. Time was coming on its own anyways.

It was his best “opportunity” to rack up the catch/yards/TD numbers he wants for his 1st ballot HoF resume he’s trying to build and his wanting to achieve legendary WR status. He’s got some list climbing to get there and that is a better opportunity in a WR room that doesn’t already have EE/Tez/CG/JMac and with a proven playcaller who will scheme him open and with targets.

Bucs the team before individual players. Comes with the territory of being born into Bucs fandom not a player. Love Mike Evans and wish him well, but I’m good. May the onward journey start Bucs.

IT WASN’T ABOUT THE $’s, BUT IT WAS STILL ABOUT THE #’s

  27. Buc1987 Says:

    5-12 in 2026!

  28. Red86 Says:

Thanks for the many great memories ME13! Hope you continue to have a great career.
