Wednesday Bucs Injury Report

November 5th, 2025

Good news and bad news today.

Joe’s first “bad” news is Baker Mayfield remains on the injury report after a bye week with a knee issue and an oblique problem. Mayfield was full-go in practice, but if he were fully healthy he’d be off the report. Fingers crossed.

Not practicing today were Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving, Haason Reddick and Markees Watts. Joe wrote about Irving and Godwin earlier.

One the good news front was right tackle Luke Goedeke practicing in a limited fashion after weeks on injured reserve, where he still is listed. Also, full-go was right guard Luke Haggard, who seemed to be the best of the fill-ins for Cody Mauch.

Has Izien played one down this season?

  2. 813bucboi Says:

    Great news!!!!

    GO BUCS

  3. WillieG Says:

I didn’t realize Mayfield has an oblique injury. No wonder his passing has been off.

  4. Stanglassman Says:

Willie listen to the Baker presser today he explains it well how it’s effected his throws. Really interesting.

  5. jcscycles Says:

It’s great to see Luke Haggard as a FULL participant. He was playing great before the injury.

Wasn’t Baker LIMITED and QUESTIONABLE before the Saints game? FULL would be a big improvement.

I think OBLIQUE has replaced the old Bruised ribs designation nowadays.

Here’s hoping that Luke is a FULL go ASAP!

    Les Franc
    Bucky

  7. Beeej Says:

Grow a a beard or DON’T Baker! Make up your mind!

  8. cmurda Says:

Yeah. Oblique sounds more brutal than the good ole bruised ribs. A more honorable ring to it….I guess.

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

CBs getting healthy. That’s good news!

Baker Mayfield may not be hurting as badly as he is leading people to believe right now.

  10. Scotty Mack Says:

“Baker Mayfield may not be hurting as badly as he is leading people to believe right now.”

Based on what? Your own opinion of Mayfield? I guess maybe Godwin, Irving, Reddick and, for that matter may not be as hurt as they say they are either.

    Ridiculous statement!

  11. ElioT Says:

So Bucky now a porcelain doll?

This doesn’t bode well for his career longevity.

    This team is paper thin.

Such a bummer after a great start. Pats mean business and I’m not so sure the Bucs can handle it.

  12. Mac Says:

I’m truly worried this may be our 3 or 4 game skid Bowles has had every year of his coaching. I pray I’m wrong but this stretch is tough. Carolina is no joke either. Not sure why so many think the division is locked up. Playing them 2 out of 3 at seasons end won’t be gimme’s by any stretch. We need some weapons back on offense badly to have a shot at our 5th straight division title. Looks like J Mac may never be back this season maybe ever truly. That is a really bad injury and no Evans. Godwin doesn’t seem like he will be back to himself. How are we going to score with Egbuka a 7th round pick and Shep as Bakers only guys to throw too.

Yes saw him during Saints game, he may have been out there in other games for special teams too. I know I saw him in another.

I’m not sure bucs know how the injury and IR system works . They are the only team that doesn’t use IR unless they are out for the season it’s kinda redicousl .

  15. Mike Says:

Bucs really needed this bye week with all the injuries. I hope they continue to get healthy and can really be hitting on all cylinders come the playoffs this season! Go Bucs!

  16. Rod Munch Says:

Getting Luke back would be huge, but I doubt he steps right in, I assume it’s more like Wirfs where it might be a couple of weeks still. Still, out of all the guys coming back, he’s the most important because he’s such a massive upgrade over Heck. Although I think we’re about to see why the team really needs Godwin back if Evans isn’t back on the early side of his recovery window – there’s a reason Shepard is a vet min and while Tez has done well for a 7th rounder, there’s a reason teams don’t want to start those guys. Still, to be sure, I’m not down on Tez at all, but it’s a lot to ask him to be your #2 WR this early in his career – for a 7th rounder to ever play is a big deal, but to start against some really good defenses, in most scenarios it doesn’t go great – but I hope this is the exception. As for Shep, I think he’s best as a 4th WR option at this point in his career – he seems to really wear down quickly as the season goes along and the less snaps they can play him, it seems like the more effective he is.

  17. Jameis Says:

We don’t look good on paper after a bye

  18. Let ‘em bake Says:

Otton needs to have a big game this week. Ditto Rashad . Got to roll Baker out more, ala Canales playbook.

  19. heyjude Says:

Thank you for the update, Joe. Hoping that Baker is doing better by Sunday. We all knew he wasn’t himself. Missing Bucky, Mike, and Chris for sure.

  20. MikeCk Says:

It’s time to let Godwin go. Guy has missed more games than he has played. I don’t know what a “hurt fibula” means as it isn’t broken….but good lord, this will be the 6th week he has been out after returning for 1.5 games.

I’d check the Bucs medical staff for a history of Munchausen by proxy. The injury report is like Fly paper; once you get on it, you can never get off again

  21. Marky mark Says:

Is the oblique upper or lower body

  22. BucU Says:

“”It’s time to let Godwin go. Guy has missed more games than he has played. I don’t know what a “hurt fibula” means as it isn’t broken….but good lord, this will be the 6th week he has been out after returning for 1.5 games.””

You won’t get an argument from me on that statement.

  23. heyjude Says:

Gee whiz, it’s not time for Chris to go. Not sure how severe the fibula really was, but so much goes along with it. And if too much stress is placed on it before it’s time, it could have made it worse which is why he was gingerly in the games. Give him a chance. He’s there and wants to play. Can’t wait to see how he does once in full capacity! Go Bucs!

  24. RalphCramden Says:

An oblique injury is a strain or tear of the oblique muscles, which are located on the sides of your abdomen and help with twisting and bending.

These injuries cause sharp or dull pain in the side of the abdomen, which can worsen with movement, twisting, coughing, or breathing. They can be caused by sudden movements, improper form during exercise, or repetitive actions.

Or, the injury may be caused by a 300 lb. lineman hammering his shoulder into the QB’s gut when the QB has his arm raised.

Throwing a football requires the thrower to recoil his body, in effect “wind it up” with enough torque to power his throw. If that motion is hampered, the pass will not go where it is intended to go with the amount of “zip” desired on the ball.

We hear about the emphasis on foot placement in throwing he ball. The whole movement of the body needs to be unison to get maximum thrust of the ball. If the body is injured, it is not going to respond or move as expected.
