“I’m Starting To Trust Tampa”

October 8th, 2025

Still wants to be heard.

Joe hoped longtime NFL insider for Sports Illustrated and NBC Peter King, the noted Bucs turncoat, would fade away in retirement. But Joe can’t seem to get rid of the guy.

The renowned bloviator retired after the 2023 season but quickly jumped back in the game on a show that would cater his desire to hear himelf talk; Let’s Go!, heard weekly on SiriuxXM with Jim Gray, Matthew Stafford and Maxx Crosby.

King has been anti-Bucs for a handful of years now. Remember, King picked the 2022 Saints to be the No. 1 seed in the NFC with Jameis Winston at quarterback. Then he insisted the 2023 Bucs would secure the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft — and was irked that Bucs fans didn’t accept his genius.

King sees the 2025 Bucs as the No. 5 team in the NFC, per his Monday comments on Let’s Go.

“I’m starting to trust Tampa,” King said, before going on to say he already trusts the Packers, 49ers, Rams and Lions.

Joe’s trying not to wish King eats a rotten scone.

King does NOT do his research.

  2. Aqualung Says:

I will wish he eats a rotten scone.

  3. Obvious Says:

Insufferable is how I would describe him

  4. Brandon Says:

King is a moron, based on what he said, Bucs couldn’t be worse than a #4 seed.

  5. Freddy PA Moxie Says:

    “Here’s what I think I think…”

I kind of prefer when he writes anti-Bucs material. Those make for great receipts.

  6. Obvious One Says:

    Talk about a troll….

But hey, even trolls occasionally see the forest through the trees.. and are Reborn. After the rebirth the once was troll becomes a Staunch Supporter and begins a new, trolling in a New Direction.

  7. Winny Testaverde Says:

Thought he was retired too…he’s a bit of a limp chimp far leftist…but he did have unmatched access to NFL players once upon a time. Jim Gray is the perfect partner for him.

  8. Billy Bucco Says:

How do you trust a Packers team that lost to the Browns and tied the Cowboys without their best receiver?

This guy is a fruitcake through and through?
The 49ers are about to get owned.

It’s like the Saints games where we couldn’t win and then we finally did and we have spanked them since for the most part.

I think we score 35+ again and the defense is better than we think.

    38-24 Bucs

  9. Cybersecurity_intern Says:

Winny Testaverde stay away from politics. Is not for you

  10. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

He’s a good writer and entertaining when I used to read him regularly 20 years ago. But I would never go to him for serious football knowledge and God forbid getting any Xs and Os info out of him.

  11. NCbucfan Says:

Maybe King has been the dude trolling as Neal Cooter, aha.

  12. 1sparkybuc Says:

He’s always good for a laugh.

  13. Gipper Says:

Just another media moron. Sensible people don’t care what these “journalists” think.

  14. SC Bucs Fan Says:

The most pleasant thing about this article was Joe not describing King with the 50 adjectives he usually uses on these posts

  15. Durango 95 Says:

“But Joe can’t seem to get rid of the guy.”

Perhaps if Joe wrote about him less. I mean, I doubt it was the janitor at JBF World HQ that posted this story.

Seriously, absolutely cannot stand P King at all. He even looks creepy.

Never trust a man that wears clogs. Red flag.

Makes Birkenstocks look like steel toe construction boots.

  16. KABucs Says:

SC Bucs Fan… So true. 😆
Once he retired he no longer qualified for the giant moniker. But most of it was negative so that was fine.

Now we need to go out and beat 9ers and Rams to show him how wrong he is. I bet Seattle fans are now rooting hard for the Bucs to sweep their division.

I have tickets I received as a gift to the Cardinals game Thanksgiving weekend. I sure hope they play like they did last weekend against us in that game.
Extreme entertainment! There’s our offense and then there’s a bunch of bumbling Card clowns doing things you couldn’t ever guess would possibly happen, let alone in a single game. LOL

  17. Steven007 Says:

SC, for two posts in a row you have written what I was going to write. In the other post I was going to write about waiting for the anti-Bucs trainers brigade to comment on an injury that has nothing to do with that kind of training or treatment. And for this one, yes, I truly hated this shtick of throwing that stupid paragraph in every time they mentioned King. They seem to be doing a bit less of that which makes everything a bit more readable and polished.

  18. Aqualung Says:

    Durango, ROTFLMAO

  19. Tackleblockwin Says:

Oh Goodness. How he ever got so popular, we will never know.

  20. Bucsfan Says:

King is a expiate of sputum or worse.

  21. Winny Testaverde Says:

Oh hey Mall/“Cyber”Security Intern ( a la Monica Lewinsky ):

Oops…that’s political too. Keep your chin up and food court visits down, my lady!

  22. Jeff and Jack's grandpa Says:

King has always been a creeper

  23. ballwasher61 Says:

He has ADHD, Always Does Have Diarrhoea.

  24. Matt Says:

He doesn’t trust Toilet Todd. Now we have a competent coach helping him with game and clock management he knows we are instantly better. He remembers in the playoffs when we could have gotten the ball back with 20 some seconds left on the clock but TB forgot to use a time out and let the game end.

  25. garro Says:

    Ohh Nooo! He’s back….He unretired?

Impossible to take this guy seriously anymore Joe.

    Go Bucs!
