Haason Reddick: I’ll Be Ready For The Seahawks

September 29th, 2025

Haason Reddick.

So Bucs edge rusher Haason Reddick left yesterday’s soul-sucking loss to the Eagles in the second half with what was deemed neck issue/possible concussion.

That was the FOX report and Reddick did not return.

He was, however, in the Bucs’ locker room after the game and told Sage of Tampa Bay Sports Ira Kaufman that he’ll be fine and ready to play Sunday against the Seahawks in Seattle.

If you were a wise person, you read this already in Kaufman’s “10 Takeaways” column, or heard it on his postgame podcast. However, Joe thought it deserved its own post.

Joe was so impressed yesterday by the play of the Bucs defense without Reddick and Greg Gaines, who was lost with a pectoral injury in the game. Defensive tackle rookies Elijah Roberts (fifth-round pick) and Elijah Simmons (Cardinals practice squad pick-up) have been impressive.

As good as the Bucs have been choosing interior defensive linemen, Joe is wondering what mammouth rookie Desmond Watson might look like.

As for Reddick, he remains a critical cog. He’s the Bucs’ best hope for an edge rush, despite only one sack through four games, half the Bucs’ ugly total from the position.

Yes, Joe loves YaYa Diaby, but he’s not a finisher. Chris Braswell has been invisible and Anthony Nelson has other strengths. José Ramirez, who Todd Bowles said is “a good pass rusher” was cut in August and remains without a team.

Think you mean Simmons(Cardinals practice squad pick up). Reddick played and made some big plays. He’s a keeper.

    This is Great news.

  3. 813bucboi Says:

    simmons and roberts played great!!!!

reddick and yaya lose containment too often…they need to play more discipline imo…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  4. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Oh no but injuries, how can reserves play well if our starters are injured 🙄

  5. SlyPirate Says:

Reddick is starting to show up. Are Yaya or Braz even on the team? Would it matter if they weren’t?

    Here’s a Name to Remember: Dani Dennis-Sutton
My Oregon Ducks played Penn State on Saturday, Dani Dennis-Sutton is a beast. He’s 6’5, 275, and runs a 4.6 40!!! Simeon Rice v2.

(Funny, I just looked at 2 Mocks. They both had us taking DDS. Love it!)

  6. Buckit Says:

Ya Ya more like Na Na

  7. Mhystc Says:

Yaya has been disappointing since his rookie year. He’s regressed so much. Braswell is JTS 2.0

  8. BigZ Says:

Make a move for Kayvon. He has 15 mil left on this and next years cap. Hes not playing much and he will get traded. He could definitely give us edge help.

  9. JA Says:

Edge rusher is definitely not our strong suit—far from it as “lightning” Vita Vea leads the team in sacks with two.
Reddick was a cheapish side gamble that has yet to pay off. 13 games to go to surpass JTS’s total of one for the entirety of last year, and that occurred in Week 1.
Counting his time with the Jets, Reddick has one sack in his last 14 games.
Luckily, the new guys are filling in quite admirably. Frankly, we’d be lost without them.

  10. Deez Says:

    Simmons looked powerful

  11. BucsFan81 Says:

As good as Jason is a drafting WR he sucks at drafting Edge players. none of them have worked out. He needs to sign a couple of stud pass rushers this off season if any become available.

  12. WiscoJoe Says:

Bucs possibly make a move for Jaelan Phillips? MIA could have a sale on their players soon…

  13. heyjude Says:

Reddick is picking it up and really seems to like it here. Win-Win.

  14. Paratrooper Buc Says:

Reddick is hungry. We all want him to get sacks and feast.

  15. Obvious One Says:

We’ll never really know if Jason can pick them (edge rushers) because Bowels doesn’t know how to train them. He attempts to turn them into “pass coverage” and guess what? HE CONFUSES THEM SO BADLY THAT THEY TURN INTO JTS!

Where do Most of our sacks come from? THE SECONDARY…

In Bowles world THAT IS HIS MAINSTAY FOR SACKS.. And NOT actual pass rushers!

He doesn’t train them and probably has NO CLUE as to HOW TO train them “especially to excel” and IN FACT CONFUSES THEM BADLY AND RUINS CAREERS! This (the Bucs) is THE WORST TEAM POSSIBLE TO LAND ON IF YOU’RE A PASS RUSHER ESPECIALLY COMING OUT OF COLLEGE.

  16. BigZ Says:

WiscoJoe, great call. Hes been banged up but the Fins will want to move him. I really want Kayvon.
I read Detroit is interested in Kayvon. That’s, No bueno.

  17. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Reddick got overheated.🥵

  18. GoneGator Says:

Like Reddick ok but Yaya has been as good or better. I never really bought in to the must have double digit sacks FROM the edge like some seem to believe.

Still hoping (and yes hope, along with hard work, is a strategy 🤣) to see our edge guys get home more as the season progresses but that’s far from our biggest issue ATM.

He’s playing the run well @ least.

  19. mj Says:

defense has been streaky, just remember jts when you rag on reddick he’s been a very good run stopper, the weak link is svd

  20. BucsFanSince1996 Says:

The Bucs completely dominated the Eagles’ offense in the second half. Didn’t they get negative yardage for that half?

The Bucs defense did just fine against the reigning Super Bowl champions!
They held Hurts to 130 passing yards, Barkley to 2.26 yards per carry.
Of the 31 points scored by the Eagles, 7 came from the blocked punt, and another 7 came after a turnover, where they were almost in the red zone already!
